Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BangladeshThe toilets need repair and upgrading.
The location, the private beach, the property - everything was amazing. We had a great stay with our family. The kids loved the private beach and the pool. The staff were very friendly and cordial.

UkraineThe territory looks very green on photos, but in reality it's all dried up which looks kinda sad. It sure takes a lot of water to keep all this territory green, but something needs to be done. The pool closes shortly after 6 whish was a massive bummer for me, because after hanging around Diani all day, I wanted to cool down in the pool but hardly had any time to do that. The restaurant is far from good too. I'm glad I didn't include breakfasts in my booking, I went there once and it was very poor. It's almost unbelievable how much better meals are in Diani for x0.7 price. Also, don't waste your time on Wasini island tour, it's a straight up scam. If you did any snorkeling anywhere in the world, you won't see anything new and will just loose a day on a super long travel back and forth.
It's a massive property right on the beach, quiet and isolated, which is exactly what I was looking for. The territory is nice with a lot of monkeys running around and beautiful flora (palms, trees, cactuses). The chateaus are extremely spacious and comfortable. The pool is nice too. The hotel beach is all right but not great, at least there's no one to harass you and you can chill there, take sunbathes or even have a swim during the high tide. Diani beach, however, is just 30 mins drive away, so we went there instead. You would want to rent a car in Mombasa, which is quite cheap, because there's no public transport there and taxi may be quite expensive/unavailable. Driving from Mombasa, make sure you use the turn before the hotel. not pass it, as google maps suggest.

United KingdomSadly the food and beverage side of things was poor. First night we went to eat and there were busy tables weren’t cleared the buffet was poor and there was no organisation .. we ordered Al a carte and waited over an hour and the food wasn’t great. We went again on our last night was only us and another coupe and still we waited 1and half hours.. again the food wasn’t great. I really hope they can get this side of things sorted out as it’s a real gem of a place in a beautiful spot.
The room was large and spacious , the Private beach was Lovely we walked to the coral garden and area of the beach where there was so many star fish of so many different colours .. the beach was quiet and the soft white amd soft .. its set over a large area and was beautiful to walk around , its set Away from main resorts so better to stock up on supplies of fruit snacks drinks. By we wanted a quite relaxing break and it was perfect for that. Also. Short walk to the Africa pool.. best to go when the tide is out to see and swimming .

NetherlandsSome facilities can use renovation but considering the price they ask this is reasonable.
Really nice quiet and remote place. Beautiful private beaches with options to do some nice little excursions with a local guide (recommended). Swimming pools were also nice. Also liked the restaurant very much.

ItalyBreakfast was just ok, and the place in general would use a bit of strong maintenance, but well, the property is huge and it's not an easy task!
The place is nice and the location is super. The rooms are so spacious that they make you feel you're staying in a palace. The woman at the reception was extremely kind!

SpainSlow cooking and communication between staff. You have to wait about an hour for the order. Also, the quality of the dishes could be improved.
Great big villas. Private beach without vendors. The ocean is 20 meters away. Amiable staff who try to help in every possible way. Special thanks for wishing me a happy birthday :)

Iranwe had problems in the superior villa. The faucets in the bathrooms were broken and we showered with cold water. hot water was available in the kitchen but not in bathroom. Considering that we were on the fourth floor, the water pressure was low. But the friends in the two-bedroom villa did not have this problem and there is not elevator at this building.
We rented two apartments in this resort. Superior Villa and Two-Bedroom Villa. Both apartments were clean and equipped with kitchen and cooking facilities. The rooms are big and we had a very beautiful view of the sea and the garden. The staff were very kind and helpful. The pool area and restaurant were clean and tidy. It was not possible to use one of the pools. The restaurant staff prepared a very delicious fish for our evening dinner. Breakfast was buffet, brief and did not have much variety, but in my opinion, it was enough.

The location of the hotel is very good, the place is quiet, two beautiful smaller beaches, you can swim in the ocean at high tide. They have two nice swimming pools. The garden is well maintained. Accommodation is very clean. Staff is nice.

NorwayNo breakfast buffet, but ala carte menu for the included breakfast. It took some tome from when we ordered to the food arrived, but the quality and presentation of the food was really nice. The one night we ordered from the restaurant, it also took a looong time before we got the food. Over an hour from we ordered.
A quiet and nice place with only a few other visitors (we stayed at the resort for three nights in late July). We thought we had booked three standard rooms, but the ones we got were grand suites. From the square feet description of the room up front, I think this was what we had but we were still surprised and thrilled by how grand it felt. There were no buffet for the included breakfast. In stead we had to choose from an ala carte menu. This was also ok, but it took some tome from when we ordered to the food arrived.

HungaryThe property is shouting for some renovation, as others said it has great potential. The bar at the beachfront would be nice if it would funtion, the pool is great if it would be more clean (lots of algae). I hope the owner will invest the effort to keep the place running and renovate some things both inside and outside. We enjoyed our stay tho alltogether, really relaxed and beautiful environment.
Beautiful spaceous garden, superb little beach, spaceous rooms, jacuzzi, view, the sunrise is beautiful here. Staff is very friendly, breakfast is a big portion. Monkeys can be a pro or con as well as they steel food from your balcony or even from your plate at the restaurant but they are adorable, we liked the experience.

United StatesThe property could have been more accessible, our initial room (penthouse- superior villa) was on the third floor which we had no idea about going into. It would be helpful if the hotel either made those rooms more accessible or informed guests about the floor they would be getting especially if there was no lift.
The staff were incredible and ensured we had a safe, comfortable, and relaxed stay. We were upgraded after our initial room had some maintenance issues. We utilised additional services- the restaurant for lunch/dinner, activites, spa, airport shuttle etc. and they were good value for money.

SlovakiaDirty beach with lot of plastics and broken glass, beach shoes needed. Some monkey s**t around pool. Dog owned by the hotel was cooling himself in one of the pools in front of sign "no animals allowed". Long waiting time (45 minutes) in the restaurant. Dirty pools. Unable to get outside of the resort as it is few kilometers from the main road running through Ukunda. We were stuck there during our whole stay as Uber didn't take orders from the resort to Mombasa nor to Diani Beach only other way around and we could only get taxi booked by the resort for 45€ to the airport on our last day, same way cost from airport only 9€.
Clean and spacious room with nice view, although we were not able use balcony as there were monkeys running from the roof and pooping around. Peaceful quiet place during low season.

KenyaThere are few vendors on the property that were a bit annoying. The restaurant didn't have dessert the days we were there. It's a drive to the main part of Diani beach to visit the other resorts.
Our single bed suite had a great view of the ocean and the beach nearby. The beach on the property is a small stretch of sand among the cliffs, so it's a fun place to swim and enjoy the surf that reaches the shore at high tide.

United StatesIt’s very tired. Our wifi did not work. We had to go to the restaurant for wifi. Also, when they have few guests they are too laid back. Food can take forever. With a crowd they get on their game, but they should be more serious. It’s a great old hotel that needs a lot of work. There are lots of nice folks working there, and we had a great time but a little effort would go a long way.
