Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicThe area is noisy and crowded, not good for the ones who have trouble sleeping. Not even a trash bin in the room, bathroom below Kenya standard
You can't expect much for the money. And that's what you get. Basic old hotel, but clean bed, pretty helpful staff. Can arrange laundry, money exchange or food delivery

KenyaMy only gripe was the surrounding environment. Being in the central business district, I expected it to be quie loud. It got noisy during peak hours, which was expected but still a negative. Not a dealbreaker, though on my overall stay.
The staff were incredibly friendly and approachable, assisting me every step of the way. Their excellent service made the stay enjoyable.

United KingdomThe glass skylight above the door shines the corridor light straight into the room making it difficult to sleep. All they have to do is paint this black or put the corridor lights on a timer that switched off after a few minutes.
Location is right in the middle of a very busy hawkers, bus touts, pavement sellers etc. The street in front of the entrance is very noisy but thankfully, no night clubs with loud music appear not to be in the area. The fact that the entrance into the establishment is up a flight of stairs in which a security guard is posted is a good sign that they maintain security at the hotel. Got a room at the back of the hotel which was not as noisy as if it was facing the street. One can buy a cup of tea through the concierge who orders room service delivery from on of the nearby cafes. You are in walking distance of the CBD and the railway station. The hotel keeps contact with you before arrival with whatsapp messages which is very reassuring

KenyaI had a deeply unsettling experience during my stay. On my first night, around 3 a.m., I was woken by loud knocks on my door. To my shock, two men then opened the door and entered, using a key — while I was inside sleeping. They claimed they had booked the room, but I had already checked in, had the key, and my belongings were inside. This was extremely frightening and made me feel unsafe, as it suggests that there are multiple keys in circulation and that anyone could potentially access an occupied room. Such an incident points to serious lapses in staff communication and room allocation procedures. I was left worried not only for my personal safety but also for the security of my belongings.
Closer to most places I wanted to visit .

Kenya1. The bathroom in the room were dirty 2. Internet in the room was erratic, you had to sit on their uncomfortable seats at their reception to access it 3. That wiring in the bathroom for the hot water heating is an electrocution disaster waiting to happen. 4. I had a fall while coming down the stairs because the person mopping the floor hadn't put a wet floor sign. 5. When I complained about this, all he did was chuckle. 6. That notice saying they are not liable for any injuries on their premises is null and void and I have the mind to sue.
1. The fact that it is near the CBD by way of a walking distance. 2. The fact that they have safekeeping for guests' luggage after checkout.

GermanyOcean view windows would have been nice. But I don’t expect them to build an ocean behind the hotel. 😉
Extremely friendly and helpful staff which went the extra mile, answering all my questions and even walking me to a hairdresser. My room was clean, quiet and functional. I paid only 1000 KES per night, and for this price the former is not always the case.

CanadaIt is slightly difficult to find and you may have a hard time getting there by car as it is very busy.
Great value, located right in the middle of downtown. The street is kind of like a bus station, so make sure you dont get a room right on the street or at the back (also gives onto the street). Guarded entrance.
