How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis camp is highly recommended. The staff are very enthusiastic, and the meals are excellent. The hot water supply and internet connection are both great. We stayed for four days, and each night's dinner was different. Outside the tents, there are unobstructed trees and lawns. Various animals come out at night, but it is absolutely safe because the hotel staff patrol the area.

Verified reviewI loved the service and kindness of the staff.
Mission safari vehicle and not suitable for travel. And a high price for junk. Full board..not really free drinking water and concentrate..limited meal only what is put in front of you if you don't like something there is no substitute and so it happened that I didn't eat several meals...no bar or anything else to complete the meal. In short, very weak.

Verified reviewKobe Mara was an amazing find from all the places to stay! From the very first email with Lea to Sammy and the team at the camp including our game drive guides, which we booked directly via Kobe Mara - again, a huge ASANTE SANA for making our Masaai Mara trip so memorable! The place is just utterly beautiful! Seeing a zebra, and giraffes right from our tent was such a wondrous experience. All the details of the tent were highly appreciated as well! It felt like being in a movie… Furthermore, the food - especially the fish on a bed of spinach cream and side of mash… It all tasted like “coming home”. You do have your own kitchen too if you prefer. The team on site are always there to help if anything. Easily one of our top favourite stays ever - Highly recommended! <3

Verified reviewRemarkable three days at Kobe Mara. Even though we arrived by car late at night and during a storm, we were warmly welcomed with dinner and blankets. The tent was clean and comfortable, and camp location was excellent. With only 4 tents and 1 large house spaced out from each other, no fences and no other camps around, it is so peaceful (apart from the animals of course!) and a perfect escape from city life. We recommend booking game drives via the camp too - our guide Nickson was incredible and we saw all the animals we had hoped to find. Kobe Mara staff did a fantastic job and everyone was so friendly and kind. As a bonus, we were treated to a group dinner as all guests were departing on the same day, featuring a Maasai celebration. A special thanks to our waiter Jonathan and the manager Sammy for everything :)

Verified reviewWe had a warm welcome from the staff and felt right at home. This place is exceptional. The host helped us plan the game drive and our shuttle service from Nairobi and back. The house was clean and is beautifully designed. The staff were at our availability and our meals were well prepared. It was all just positive and an unforgettable experience.
Nothing.

Verified reviewLocation is gorgeous with beautiful views into the savanna, with a pond with animals coming to drink. The house is beautifully decorated. The food prepared by the chef was great. Very friendly staff, specially Vincent and Peter.

Verified reviewThe placement was amazing, truly in the middle of the jungle with wildlife around. The tent was great and the shower/bathroom were really clean and comfortable. There was no insects in the tent although we’re surrounded by nature. The downside was the food as there was no menu, it was truly not organized and a hassle everytime we wanted to eat. The staff although extremely nice, a bit suffocating with the way they handle things. Special thanks to everyone there!

Verified reviewI can’t overstate how incredible this place is. The majestic view truly immerses you in the essence of African wildlife and safari—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I’m surprised there aren’t more reviews for this gem. Perhaps previous guests forgot to leave one, but I felt compelled to share my thoughts, especially since my partner, a huge believer in ratings, had doubts about coming here. While reviews might not be as prevalent in Africa, let me assure you: this place is undoubtedly underrated. The beauty of the location is breathtaking, and the staff are exceptionally helpful and caring. We arrived late as this was a last-minute trip to Africa, connecting from a flight in Singapore. Unprepared and without dinner, we were amazed by the staff’s kindness—they cooked for us past 10 pm so we wouldn’t go to bed hungry. That level of service is rare and deeply appreciated. If you’re staying in one of the tents and feel uneasy walking to the main house, the staff are always ready to protect and escort you. Their attentiveness and concern for guests’ comfort are unmatched. Overall, we had an amazing time and would love to return with the rest of our family. The manager, the owner, and all the staff were superb. I have nothing negative to say—this place exceeded all expectations. Highly recommended!
