How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

I would have loved a generator with a capacity that can handle the instant hot shower.

Literally no water coming from the shower it’s crazy. Hated that. Many mosquitoes Rooms are too close to each other and not that spacious you’d easily pick up noise from your neighbor if they’re loud.
Staff were nice. Bed is okay.

Cleanliness is very poor, the first day bedsheets were dirty and I had to sleep on the bedcover, there are dirt stains on the wall moreso in the bathroom, thus there is need to change nsure high level of cleanliness

The facilities were exceptionally clean and very quiet. The staff very welcoming and friendly. Namely Paul, Alice and Esther. The stay was worth every effort they put. Most notable was a free of charge room upgrade organized by the administrator. Words can not express our gratitude. It was an awesome experience. Thank you so much and i will not hesitate to come again and or recommend friends and assosiates.

some beddings need to be changed...my duvet was worn out and the nets need to be cleaned they are a bit dusty

The attitude of the staff isn't right at all. They operate like they are doing you a favor. Not cooperative at all..The photos on airbnb and what's on the ground aren't matching at all.. The night reception is by a nightguard who seems more cooperative than the ladies who are perpetually annoyed. The place is so tiny that you will never have a place to sit in when out of your room..No compound at all....And the price is generally higher than similar facilities around.

Everything was okay however, I could hear the guests next door talking so I am not sure if it's because they were loud or the rooms are too close to each other.
The breakfast was good and worth the price. The place is really clean, the beds comfortable and the room size was okay.

This was beyond my expectation of accommodation in Machakos. Very welcoming staff.. The furniture ( bed ) is so spacious. I would definitely recommend it.

Everything was good.
Maureen has been such an amazing host. She made perfect breakfasts and our room was clean and neat. She has been so helpful and kind all the time. We kindly recommend the place. We shall return!

The lounge chairs could be modified to be more to be more comfortable. Also, the roof of the balcony was leaking.
The reception was excellent. Maureen, the attendant, was jovial and ready to go an extra mile to make our stay comfortable. The place is quiet with no disturbing noices, something we really wanted.

The parking space inside was a tad bit too small but one has the option of parking outside(where I was informed is safe as well) The google maps direction if someone is coming from Machakos town is extremely misleading…I am not sure if the hotel can do anything to change this.
