Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MalaysiaOur stay at Maili Saba Camp was a perfect escape after days of travel. The view from the room was absolutely breathtaking, and the room itself was spacious, clean, and very well maintained. One of the highlights was the cozy bonfire in the evening – such a thoughtful and heartwarming touch that added to the relaxing atmosphere. A huge kudos to the staff, especially Milka, who provided exceptional service and ensured all our needs were met with genuine care and attention. We also indulged in a massage, which was exactly what we needed to unwind after all the traveling – it was truly rejuvenating. We were so impressed and relaxed that we even extended our stay for an extra night – we just didn’t want to leave! Maili Saba is a gem, and we left feeling refreshed and grateful. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for comfort, great service, and a beautiful setting.

United StatesThe staff are some of the most welcoming people I have ever met. Lilian is incredibly kind and was very helpful throughout my entire stay. The room itself had a spectacular view of the crater and surroundings, and watching sunrise and sunset from the balcony was very enjoyable. The main lodge room is a work of art, and a great place to spend some time. This lodge is involved with a local non-profit organization that is doing really powerful work. If you are interested in safaris, Lilian arranged with a local, ethically-minded safari company that I highly recommend. Asante sana Lilian and James!

GermanyAmazing location with very beautiful view. The Service was great, I was a bit sick and they offered the meals in our room and also brought me a Water boiler. Very calm place, nice food. The Camp is perfectly integrated into the nature. The organisation is also doing great social work, it feels good to be there and to support young Kenyans

The property is beatifully located at the crater with beautiful views of the surrounding forest. The rooms are very cosy and the hot water pack for the beds at night makes the beds perfect for a good night. Hats off to the staff for taking care of all details, especially Lillian who makes us all feel right at home. The food is very delicious and well cooked.

AustriaEverything was amazing. The staff was extremely hospitable and the dinner was simply amazing and also not very expensive. We even got a free room upgrade, because the camp wasn't so busy at that day and the manager helped us get to the viewpoint and brought our car back to the camp. Really great stay!!

SpainWe like everything. We will come back and this time to spend more time for relaxing. The only thing we would mention is that the short game drive to lake Elementaita that we booked was a bit too costly, but this was a service aside the lodge.
Incredible views from the terrasse. Our little dog was allowed to be with us and he was having a great time. All staff very professional and charming. Food excellent. We love the size of the room and decoration, simple and elegant at the same time. A place to relax and enjoy nature. I did a massage and was excellent, as well.

CanadaThere is not much, if anything, to not like. My only regret was that didn't get to stay longer.
The food was great, the service was superb and the location is incredible. We were only booked for one night (Sept. 15/23) and arrived after dark, which was a real shame as we found out the next morning when we woke up to the incredible views from the balconies of our 'tents'! And even though we got there after the dinner sitting, the staff were so welcoming and they had kept the kitchen open for us and accommodated our request for a lighter meal than planned. The manager, James Ndung'u and his entire staff were friendly, helpful and genuinely happy to have us stay with them. The rooms/tents are second to none with all the conveniences of home. I strongly recommend staying at Maili Saba Camp - you will not regret it. Al DeMarco
