Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The photos, the real space is actually much better.

A very nice property with overlooking the pool from the balcony. Very nice apartment with all amenities with so many varieties of plants. The hosts were superb and any questions about Mombasa and places to eat they were answered. They were superb in everything. We have never met such friendly hosts. We have found new friends in Mombasa! Thank you Sagar and Marianne for such a pleasurable stay.

A soap and shampoo holder in Shower will make it more convenient.
I had a relaxing and pleasant stay at Evergreen House. The place has everything a traveler might need — a cozy bedroom with a comfortable bed and AC, a private bathroom with a hot shower, and a fully equipped kitchen if you enjoy cooking. What really sets it apart is the host — very friendly, helpful, and usually around since he works from home, always ready to assist or answer any questions. The location is also great, with two large supermarkets within walking distance, plus a bank and public transportation nearby. I highly recommend Evergreen House to anyone visiting Nyali!

Excellent place in Mombasa. Spotlessly clean room, strong aircon, plenty of warm water in a shower. Nice pool is available in a compound. Easy walking to shopping centres and coffeeshops. Hosting couple is really welcoming. Very nice people...

Sagar is a great host. I was arriving late (delayed flight) and he offered to grab me some groceries which is a generous touch. Location is great next to malls, restaurants and things to do.

The next beaches are public beaches. Just avoid nasty people there.
The host was very friendly and helpful. He even took us to the Jumba la Mtwana with his car

Sagar was an incredible host, the apartment was lovely and close to the mall. When checking in we got very detailed suggestions of what to do and how to move around Nyali. Definitely recommend the place.

Evergreen house is overall clean except for the 2 windows that needed repairs.
Evergreen house is close to the amenities such as shopping malls and restaurants, all within walking distance. Sagar, the hose, is very nice and offer to cook dinner for us in one or two days.

The fact that I had to look for breakfast …. I missed the convenience of ordering breakfast…
The host (Sagar) is quite a gem. Ever smiling, very kind and caring. He was very warm and supportive. The place is nice and private. Ideal for those who like it quiet. The location is super ! Yes it’s 150m from the mall! Quite convenient

Everything was good.
Lovely place in the heart of Nyali. It’s in close proximity to the beach, city mall and nice restaurants. Tuktuks and bodabodas are available in case one wants to visit the city of Mombasa. The owner is very friendly and helpful. He has a lot of tips.

No mosquito nets, but there was a powerful AC that you can keep on at night both to cool down and keep mosquitos away.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Evergreen House! Sagar was such a lovely and helpful host, it made our travel to and within Mombasa much smoother and very enjoyable. The accommodation is simple but super clean, and has everything you need. The terrace with the plants makes a very cosy evening hangout. We found the location in Nyali very good and easy to get around. Will look forward to staying here again if we ever come back to Mombasa!

The host was very friendly and amazingly supportive. A lot of information and recommendations, but most importantly, a person with care and concerns for his customers. The place was very clean, and the big kitchen and the swimming pool were nice assets.

The rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable, and the apartment is in a safe and very strategic location. Sagar and Mariam were wonderful hosts too. They kept looking out for my comfort and providing helpful tourist tips. Sagar's Guidebook was extremely helpful as well. It contained links to nice places that helped me plan my day and trips. I really had an enjoyable time!
