How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Surrounded by pure nature, my highlight was the unique outdoor shower under a mango tree – unforgettable! 🌿 The host was truly amazing – warm, caring and going far beyond what she had to. I felt genuinely welcome every moment. Highly recommended to anyone looking for peace, nature and real hospitality. 🌟

Verified reviewDon’t hesitate to book this accommodation! The bubble is amazing, unique and one of a kind. It feels so luxury and at the same time you’re surrounded by nature. It’s very private and you even have your own outdoor kitchen and outdoor shower (with warm water! The first warm water we had in Kenya!) There is a little village at just 5 minute walk where you can buy fruits, vegetables, chapati, fried potatoes and meat. Serah is an amazing host. Very fast in her response and she’s able to help you with all of the activities: safari in Tsavo west or east, an amazing hike through the mountains or a waterfall trip. Her vision and entrepreneur spirit is amazing to see and she has some great advices. Thank you so much for everything and hopefully we’ll be back one day!

Verified reviewThis is a wonderful sanctuary and a unique experience. As a solo traveler I wasn’t sure how remote the bubble is, but I needn’t have worried since the host, Serah, is literally just around the corner. You still have complete privacy and are surrounded by beautiful nature. Serah takes very good care of her guests. This is a wonderful project to support local women.
Nothing to complain about. Just be aware that during the day it gets too hot in the bubble, but that’s when you’re usually out and about anyway.

Verified reviewTo stumble across this little paradise and to be lucky to book it for three nights was one of my best travel decisions ever. It is simply the most special accomodation and nature adventure I ever experienced in Kenya. I will not repeat the details others wrote about the place here, so I'll try to add a bit: Serah is a most beautiful, accomodating, friendly and happy (I think) person and she will do whatever it takes to make you feel "at home". Jay, who guides the nature tours, checks for snakes, brings a coconut for refreshment or just gives you a smile, likewise. Didn't know before that just one bubble exists so far as it's a very yound "resort" (3 more are planned sometime), but being alone amidst the beautiful Taita greens with my partner made it all the better. There's a freezer to keep your food and drinks cool, and a village in 15 minutes walking distance to buy stuff and eat. WiFi worked soso, but if you require Internet being in this place you've lost it anyway I'd state. Spending our time here at dry season and 35+ degrees made it impossible to enter the bubble during daytime (at least I wasn't up for sauna), but all the better during the clear starry nights. As there's close to zero scattered light any astronomy fan will just do the same as I: Stay up all night on the terrasse, or lie awake on the bed admiring the vaastness of universe. The waterfall tour was beautiful and Jay is keen to share his Kenya, Taita and nature knowledge, the strenuous hike uphill the Taita ranges on the next day (joined by Angus) even more fulfilling. 7 hours with those folks (for a ridiculous price that stimulates tips...) and I learned sooo much about the region, it's beautiful and friendly people, and how to best hike at 36 degrees without getting a sunburn. It didn't work :-) I'm still grateful to have spend time with the lot, and in this little special paradise. Asante Serah!
Nothing to say at all. And if there would be anything, it would be solved in one hour.

Verified reviewWhen I came here the Bubbles I saw were far beyond the pictures shown on booking.com. Space station has landed came into my mind. This is the most innovativ accommodation i saw so far everywhere in the World. Serah really has dared to do something big combining modern and nature, the view to the stars and the quiet places under the trees. I liked her selection of kitchen ware, the furniture and decoration. All bits and pieces are tastefully selected and fit together well. A designer could not have done it better. Beside that I have spent here 2 wonderful days of hiking and relaxing and I even got to know some typical Kenyan meals. Serah, Jay and Angus thank you for all of that. P.S. don't worry, it is warm in here during the day but it will cool down fast when the sun is down. Until then enjoy the shade.
I had nothing to complain about.

Verified reviewThe location of the place gives the perfect balance between a safari adventure in Tsavo East or West and the lush hills in Taita. We're surrounded by bushbaby's in the night watching the night sky from within the balloon. We have taken a boda boda to Wundanyi town which on itself is already a beautiful trip. Also you can do hikes in the nearby mountains. Thank you once again Jay, it was awesome. The balloon is located right in the middle of the valley and therefore submerged in green all around. And of course most people visit Kenya to do a safari. Serah can help you out perfectly to organize it with local guides that are grown up right next to the park. Tsavo East was great! Wifi was good. Shower under the mango tree is unforgettable. Cooking outdoors, a spotless clean sleeping place and comfortable bed. I can keep mentioning things, but this place I recommend to every adventurer out there.

Verified reviewIf your thinking you’re going glamping your wrong! This bubble offers all the comfort of a good hotel! It was a unique, beautiful experience! You have a well-equipped kitchen. You can buy fruit and vegetables at the nearby market and you will experience the most romantic shower before you wait for a night full of star glancing right out of your bed! The hike with Jay to the waterfalls alone would be worth a trip. If you want a safari trip as well, the operator Steven who Sarah recommends offers the best way around the national parks! You feel very safe and well looked after! We can recommend the accommodation 100%.
Nothing- just remember to bring internet connection with an e-sim or other!

Verified reviewWe really enjoyed our stay at the Bubble Tent. Coming from Nairobi, we were able to enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of the landscape, with lush nature all around us, and the evening spent watching the full moon. The amazing outdoor shower, the open kitchen with a view of the garden—everything allows for a complete escape. It’s a very intimate, very private space. Our most cherished memories are of exploring the village, the river, swimming in the waterfall, and walking the little hiking trails, guided by the locals. The host is incredibly kind and welcoming. Thank you for everything.

Verified reviewWe found out about Safari Bubbles through Airbnb. As advertised, it was truly a one in a lifetime experience! The bubble is located around 45 minutes from Voi and close to the Tsavo national parks. So it’s perfect if you want to visit them but have a quiet night underneath the stars. The bubble has all you need, a little kitchen outside, an outside shower and an inside bathroom. It’s 100% insect-free. Serah, the host, was so lovely: we were in contact with her a couple of days in advance, she organized pick up and return to the Voi railway station, and she set up us with an agency to see the parks. We would definitely recommend and wish Serah luck with her project!
