Absolutely stunning property with well thought out landscaping. The pools were also very clean. There were different pools with varying depths to suit different needs. The resort didn’t feel too full and you could find areas for seclusion if that’s what you like. The beach front was absolutely stunning and so relaxing to lay at

Reception check in is time consuming and difficult if every t isn’t crossed and every i dotted at booking so be careful. Receptionist don’t have the power to make decisions to assist and always have to call the manager who certainly takes their time!

Great venue, rooms are good, spacious. Most staff are excellent. Food is very good.

The annoying beach boys just as you get out of the hotel. One even offered to sell weed to my son who is only 14 but thankfully, he didn't understand the beach boy.

The noisy rooms, that were damp and the no windows in the bathrooms

The hotel was beautiful and staff incredible and couldn’t do enough for the you. The view towards the beach is also amazing. However the rooms are dated and very noisy as you could hear your neighbours all around you so we had trouble sleeping and were then woken up early to banging doors and people chatting. Overall we had an enjoyable stay and staff couldn’t have been more welcoming. Definitely give it a day or 2 and then head onto another venue as it is a very traditional hotel.

No elevator

This was my first solo trip and I chose Kenya because I have Kenyan colleagues who are delightful. For the portion of my trip in Diani Beach I chose Southern Palms. The name alone as well as the online reviews and photos were very convincing. I had an upper level room with a pool and partial ocean view that were both amazing. Like a postcard. The food is great, but the hostess and restaurant team are even better. First of all I'd like to thank Defense (yes that's her name) the restaurant supervisor. You were beyond attentive. So warm and welcoming from the moment we met and throughout my stay there. Thank you for sharing the "magic" of the "bird sanctuary." That memory and your kindness will stay with me always. Daisy, the GRO, what an absolute sweetheart you are. Meeting you was like meeting family. Mahamoud, the GM, thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to accommodate me. You were prompt to assist and to ensure my stay was great. Some other mentions are Teresia -hostess, Joyce- server, and Sarah- receptionist, for commendable customer service. I hope to see you all again as I plan to return next year with my family. Until then, asante Sana.

Food was good but think there could be more choice for lunch and the outside food.

Very good resort everything very nice. Staff very friendly and kind mkasi our house keeper very kind and welcoming room was always looking very clean. Defence and linus so so kind always making sure our stay was good and always so happy can't thank the staff enough for making our stay so good.

Food options are not that good. Too many options from the Indian cuisine and just a few from western or local. Missing basic things as steaks or grilled chicken. Even the Italian restaurant that you have to book in advance for a private dinner is just average, to be honest you feel like you’re getting your dinner from the “pasta station” located in the main restaurant buffet

Staff to pay more attention to detail. Would be better if there were windows in the bathroom, hot and stuffy . The wardrobes in the room I hope they can update them but still keep them authentic to the Swahili theme. Also in the bathroom in the room the ceiling had some brown patch marks, so just paying attention to that. Although the food was good we were expecting more Swahili dishes and also sea food.

The food variety ( different restaurants) and the proximity to the beach. Staff service was good too.

I had booked and paid for a sea view room and without any information or advance warning given was subjected to a wedding taking place right in front of my room and guests were using my balcony without permission. That was a whole day of my paid holiday accommodation used by the hotel to cater for a wedding. Felt like instead of Sea view was looking at a Wedding view.

That i didn't stay longer than the 2 days to enjoy everything icluding activities offered at the hotel like beach walking etc The disco in the evening but it ended at 11pm.

There was a variety of choice for breakfast, and dinner as well as an assortment of desserts. Food was good. There was a lot of options. The snack bar was also included in the all inclusive package. Drinks from the bar all day as well in the all inclusive package. The view of the beach and the beach itself, awesome.

The wifi was an issue. Please improve it. Especially in the rooms the connections were poor. And the food buffet was yummy and had a huge range but mostly Indian flavors . It would be nice if you included Asian, Mediterranean and something besides just Pasta for Italian cuisine.

The overall location is gorgeous. Ocean facing and stunning.

The staff were very helpful and paid attention to detail. My mother does not drink sugar for instance they made sure she had fresh natural juice throughout our stay. It’s the little things that count. Julius ensured that all requests were met and acted upon immediately. There was a variety of food and I was very nice seeing a variety of continental food like brown millet, cassava and the like. Juma who was responsible for cleaning our room did an excellent job. Most importantly the staff appeared to enjoy working there. They were alway singing, dancing there was never a dull moment with them. All thanks to the General manager.

We found hair on the food with was not so good and informed the chef 🧑‍🍳 and the lady I forgot her name .

The food at the restaurant was so good and delicious.. Every day the buffet was being changed and you have diff varieties for both bf lunch and dinner .
