To start, Sandra was beyond helpful in organising transfers, safaris and giving advice on how to make the trip as smooth as possible. Transfer was excellent, all on time and driving was great. Welcome to camp was lovely. Tent was spacious, clean and drinking water always available. Hot water for showers. The team was always on hand for anything you needed, afternoon coffee and cake was delicious and not expected. Daniel and the good team were great, food has a great variety in the event and was delicious. Packed lunch’s and breakfasts on safari were awesome too. Location is amazing being just outside the national park. Joseph was a great game driver, we have a great 2 1/2 days of safari. Thank you to the whole team, we can’t wait to come back!

Everyone was so very kind and helpful the stay was so worth it and it added more value to an amazing adventure in Masai Mara apart from the safari Especially the owner was very friendly and made my stay extremely comfortable. It's a one of a kind experience. The premium lodge is a must try.

Everything was fantastic. Starting from the location, to Sandra to each of the staff. While it was not announced that there will be personal attention given to each guest, it did become apparent that there was one individual per room who took the prime responsibility to take care of us, while others chipped in as an when needed. For us, it wasNtaya / Ben. The warmth of each and every staff member was enough to make the heart melt. The place was well maintained and cozy. The food was fantastic. We were vegetarians and the chef comes good Indian vegetarian food. We were also celebrating an important occasion as a couple and they all went out of the way to decorate the room when we first arrived and also take extra efforts to ensure that my dose was comfortable as she was fasting one of the days. The staff is super nice and friendly. The property is one of a kind, making a great place to stay at. It is perfectly located next to Talek Gate - very convenient to go into Masai Mara in just 1min drive.

The wonderful, friendly staff made the stay. The camp is small and cosy, appears to be being improved and tweaked all the time. We stayed in the most basic tent type and it was great. Clean, very comfy, cosy beds, hot water, lovely toiletries, drinking water provided. The food was excellent. We had the packed breakfast and packed lunch on safari which was delicious and the dinners were always great soup and tasty curries. We organised transfers and safari via the camp and both worked really well. Dennis, our safari guide, was amazing.

Everything was amazing! The staff was really good. To name a few like Geff, Bastian, Ben, and many more. The food was excellent and super tasty! The tent was also really good. The staff surprised us with complimentary honeymoon services and even did a Maasai dance for us! We don't have any words about how grateful we were and how much we were taken care of. Never had such an amazing hotel experience anywhere in the world.

We had such an amazing time at the Olkinyei Mara Tented Camp. The location was ideal as 100 m outside the Maasai Mara (no multiple days fees involved). The Camp itself had all commodities, but still felt like a camping experience. Well maintained tents. Very good quality interiors. Bed was so comfortable. The food was INCREDIBLE. One of the best I have ever had in my life in its simplicity and I could not stop telling the staff. I asked them if I could try their national dish and they made it for me the day after. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to any of our requests. We did the Safari and all transportation with them and we found all went smooth. I note that they have the best Safari cars, as no windows and you get a good view of the surroundings. Communication was also prompt from the time I booked this place until we left.

The music from the village during the night was sometimes lauder than the sounds of the nature.

Excellent location just at the Talek gate! It was really convenient to return for a lunch from safari and then return back. The outdoor facilities are very nice and stylish, same as the tents: spacious, well, equipped, and tastefully designed. Food was delicious, a take away breakfast- excellent! A thumbs up for hospitality and communication! Thank you Sandra, for being so helpful, flexible and ready to answer all possible questions, arrange transfers and safari. Our special thanks go to safari guide Dennis. He’s the definitely the best!!!

We loved our stay at the lodge. The tents are clean and spacious. The lodge is right by the Taek Gate of Masai Maara making it very easy to reach the park. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcomed. The food is delicious. Our safari guides, Denis and Mike, made our experience truly enjoyable. We would recommend staying at the lodge for a true Masai experience.

There was nothing.... this is a bush camp so there are mosquitos, hyena sounds, dogs, and donkeys!... Bring your bug spray... the tent had netting and I never had trouble with mosquitos unless outside the room. Nothing to do with the camp just come prepared.

EVERYTHING!.... this was a truly authentic African bush tented camp. Although I booked expecting moderate accommodations this camp delivered luxury!.. from the moment you are welcomed by the staff, the room amenities and overall comfort, to the extraordinary location -- just a couple of minutes to one of Masai Mara's entry gates... to the extraordinary food prepared by the chef... all exceeded my expectations.

I liked the serenity of the tented camp, which made our stay very restful. The staff were also very kind and helpful at all times. The food was great as well and their choice of fruits for breakfast was also of impeccable quality. I would guarantee anyone that visits Olkinyei Mara Tented Camp of a great stay. Also, be sure to book your game drives via the Camp. Their preparation and coordination for your drive is amazing e.g. packed breakfast and lunch, great choice of guides, etc. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Proximity to local village that never sleeps - parties and church mass - I’d rather here bush crickets and hyebas howling. Also I’d suggest to reconsider age limit as there was an Italian family with children, one of them must have been under 2years old. Child was crying the whole night during the dinner was running and harrasing other guests while keeping staff too busy so they couldn’t pay attention to other guests.

People here are amazing they are very talkative and they want to make sure you feel great. Rooms were very clean and place right next to the Talek gate. They will also arrange game drive for you and you can also pay a park fee here so you don’t have wait at the gate in the morning which was very convenient.

Our recent stay at the camp was absolutely magical! From the very start, Sandra was incredibly helpful and responsive when I messaged her. She made the booking process so smooth and ensured we had everything we need. The moment we arrived, we were greeted with an incredible dance by the team to celebrate our arrival We were there to celebrate my mom's birthday, and the team made it so special! On one of the nights, they surprised her with a beautiful cake and a mini party. Their attention to detail and genuine effort to make her day memorable meant the world to us. The people at the camp truly made our experience extraordinary. Joseph, the owner, was an incredible tour guide who shared his deep knowledge and passion for the area, making every adventure even more exciting. Patrick, Daniel, and the rest of the team went above and beyond to ensure we felt at home, and their kindness and warmth made our stay unforgettable. The food was out of this world! We booked the whole package through the camp transport from Nairobi ($250) and a full-day safari with Dennis as our driver ($250, excluding park fees). I’m so glad we went with them. Dennis was kind, knowledgeable, and made the safari unforgettable. Sandra handled all the arrangements and was super clear and honest about everything, even letting me know about bank charges upfront. The camp itself is beautiful. We stayed in a deluxe tent, which was spacious and comfortable. The food was incredible fresh, delicious, and they changed the menu every day. But what really stood out was the staff. This isn’t a big place, but that’s what makes it feel so special.

Can not fault the place, everything was perfect.

The camp owners Sandra and Joseph were exceptional and catered to our every need by responding to messages quickly and helping me create an amazing hot air balloon engagement proposal. Camp manager Maxon along with other employees always checked in on us and would tell amazing stories about the Masai Mara. Whilst I’m sure other drivers are great, our driver Dominique was brilliant and ensured we had the best time, with amazing breakfasts with hippos and ensuring that we saw all the animals. Also… You are a 1 minute drive to the Masai Mara gate. Have fresh meals prepared everyday. Have great WiFi in the shared areas

There was nothing we didn't like! If I had to pick one thing, the wifi in the tents isn't always the best (as you would expect!) but it didn't impact us at all as we were too busy enjoying everything Olkinyei and the Masai Mara had to offer

We had a fantastic stay at Olkinyei! The tents are beautiful with high quality finishes and the comfiest of beds! There are modern en-suite bathroom facilities and we had no issues in having a nice warm shower after a long day. The small touches like a hot water bottle waiting in the bed after dinner were very nice. The food is also ample and good - the central area is home to individual tables where you dine in the evening and you can choose to have breakfast and lunch either at the camp or packed to consume in the park whilst on safari - you definitely will not go hungry! The camp feels really small and intimate which we really liked, having previously stayed in much larger and busier lodges. But the best thing about Olkinyei is the lovely team - they could not do enough for you, were very friendly and accommodating and because of the smaller size of the camp, they get to know you very quickly. We used the return transport service from Nairobi and Francis was great on the 5 hour drive and kept us safe on the sometimes crazy roads! We also did 2 full day safaris with Dennis who was amazing - a knowledgeable and super friendly guide who always seemed to be in the right place, at the right time and we had an amazing experience, seeing so much more than we'd even hoped. For affordable luxury in a small, well run camp just outside the Masai Mara, I would highly recommend!
