Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

KenyaProvide extra table in the room A kettle or hot water dispenser in the room for tea or coffee in the night would be good but not a must

KenyaWe only got a very standard breakfast of toast and coffee. We were told that the breakfast was not included as part of our booking but it was clearly stated on the app. The trees need to be trimmed as it obstructs the view of Mount Kenya.
Environment and View Staff was very friendly and helpful (Alice and Martin) The dogs were very friendly and a joy to play with.

KenyaThe room amenities are not at all what booking.com says they are. There are 2 sub-queen size beds (not more than 4 feet),a small side table and 3 or 4 hooks in the room; that's it. No closet, real table, or even fridge or kitchen as was advertised (to be fair, the owner told me that he had repeatedly reported this booking.com, but they won't fix it). The bathroom also has no hangers or surfaces whatsoever to hang towels or put toiletries etc. Highly inconvenient. We asked for our trash bin to be emptied twice, but it didn't happen, so I had to do it myself. There is a shared kitchen and fridge available, but I was charged another 1,000 KES to have used it, which I wasn't told about beforehand. Cleanliness of the kitchen isn't great. There's also a shared bathroom bungalow which one can use when in the bar/restaurant, with a sink on the outside which had a lot of bird poop on it, which looked like days old. Finally, while Mt. Kenya is visible when you walk to the fence facing it, it is otherwise blocked by small trees and shrubs, which is a pity. The restaurant is also a small crammed place without any view, despite the great extent of the site otherwise.
The staff and owner are very friendly. The site is in a beautiful location, with wide-ranging views of the landscape with the Aberdare mountains on one side, and Mount Kenya at the other. There's a trampoline which my son enjoyed very much, and lots of open space. One could probably fly a kite there nicely when there's wind. At my request, the staff turned off the security lights at night, which made for some great night sky watching. Even better, there's a small (130mm) telescope of decent quality available on the site (though it needs to be thoroughly cleaned and collimated). The rooms and bathrooms are of a good size. The bar is a nice round half-open banda with a fireplace in the middle, a nice place to hang out and warm up on colder nights.

MalaysiaA little outskirts from the main town area, we had to take a taxi, i don't think a tuk-tuk is suitable for the road condition into the hotel. The bottom part of room door was rubbing on the floor (but i guess that can be easily fixed). I didn't like that I had to only stay 2 nights there, should be more 😄
Immaculate garden. Cute fireplace at the reception area. Peter, the husband of the hotel manager brought us for the excursion to Ngare Ndare & blue pool with his trusted 4x4, amazing experience although it rained towards the end. Wish we could stay longer to enjoy Nanyuki.
