Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWe were on our way to Masai Mara and could unfortunately only stay one night in the Shed. Very beautiful and functional apartment with kitchen, also very close to the excellent restaurant of the Ziwa Lodge including an indoor fire pit with a very cozy lounge. Angeline was very welcoming and kind, I highly recommend it

KenyaHaving curtains on the kitchen window would be great.
We loved the location, get away from the town, our kids loved the pool as they had it all to themselves as the other guests were not swimming at the time we used the pool.

KenyaWhen we were at the pool we requested for pool towels and the lady told us that since we are not staying at Ziwa lodge we would need to request our towels from where we booked. I found that quite absurd because if we are using the pool then why not the towels and plus how do we use our bathing towels at the pool. I would recommend that you come to some type of agreement with the lodge on this or if not then provide separate towels for the us at the pool. However Winnie did manage to sort us and very appreciative of that. I would suggest if you could add some side lamps in the bedroom and living room as the top lights are a little bit too bright. WiFi was also a big issue especially for the children,
Winnie is amazing, she was there when we arrived and welcomed us and we felt right at home. She took us through the house and then explained further about Ziwa lodge and what was available. Through out our stay she was very helpful and prompt with our requests and sorting out our issues, Winnie is truly an asset to your property. The view from the master bedroom was really breathtaking especially in the morning when the sun is rising.

This is a private serene location. It is a perfect place to disconnect from the daily hustle & bustle of life. It was perfect for my family to relax after a Maasai Mara trip enroute to Nairobi.

United KingdomSet in a nice area of Nakuru, this is a good place to stay, both remote and safe. I have stayed at both this one and the croft and my preference was the Croft, although sadly that was just one bedroom. I did not meet the hosts, but the staff that were on hand were always very pleasant and helpful. The Shed is modern and a wonderful place to relax, there is also a restaurant on hand if you don't plan to cook for yourself. I would happily visit again if needing to stay in Njoro.

United StatesThe WiFi can be a little challenging at times but compared to other places in the area it was ok!
The property was beautiful and unique! The beds were very comfortable and the perfect size. The bunk room beds were full sized instead of twin which was an added bonus. Also the half bath on the main level was a nice surprise!

AustraliaEverything was great. Wifi was a little sketchy (and cut out completely for one night) but that’s a first world problem.
Everything - a little piece of paradise. Very private. Great facilities we could use (pool, restaurant). Kitchen was great to cook our own meals. Bedroom awesome with super comfy bed and amazing views. The bathroom was cool and the shower incredibly spacious and hot hot hot water. Location isn’t walkable to anywhere but we knew this - and still we did some wonderful walks around the area where we got to meet so many school kids and families all stopping us to say hello and chat - isn’t that what travelling is all about!!

United StatesShould indicate the name of the bigger property where the The Shed is located. No Taxi Boda-Boda knew exactly the place. In the end, the Boda who brought us there was actually working on the place but had never heard of the name The Shed. With little (letting you know the name of the big property) could save you money and time trying to figure out the way to The Shed

KenyaWhile there were many things I loved about the property, I must say that there wasn't really anything I didn't like. It was such a fantastic experience overall, and I enjoyed every moment of my stay. The property had everything I needed and more, and I couldn't find any faults. It was truly a memorable and enjoyable stay! 😄🏡
I recently had the pleasure of staying at this amazing property and it was an absolute delight! The highlight of my stay was definitely the refreshing swimming pool . It was the perfect place to relax and cool off on those hot days. The property itself was beautifully decorated and had a fun and playful vibe. The location was also great, with easy access to nearby attractions. The host was incredibly friendly and made sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing getaway!

KenyaIf it's possible maybe have an iron box and a hair dryer in the residence. The pool was ice cold 😅 not sure if it's always that way or maybe it was the weather that factored in.
From the moment we got to the shed both Angie and Charles were responsive and helpful 24/7. Angie did reach out on the day of arrival to communicate and guide us on directions. The place is extremely clean and well taken care of, basic essentials are provided. The view is amazing. There place is well secured. The guard (Ibrahim) was friendly and checked in on us. You can request for a chef if need be. We got the honour of having Chef Davie prepare delicious meals for us.
