How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewCool old school hostel! With large outdoor sitting area for hanging around and meeting fellow travellers, they also organise activities for the guests (games, language classes, pub crawls) and run a travel agency offering day and multi days trips The mixed dorm is spacious with well organised bunk beds (curtains, light, plugs and hooks) and storage space Personnel at reception is friendly, knowledgeable and speak English The kitchen is relatively small but well equipped When full the toilets downstairs can get a bit messy The hostel is close to Osh Bazaar (large bazaar with all kind of food and stuff) but a bit far away from the city centre. There is a large supermarket with ATMs just around the corner

Verified reviewSocial, kind reception staff, nice outdoor space, air conditioning in dorm
Dirty kitchen not well maintained by guests, uncomfortable beds, storage space in female dorm was not ideal (I could not fully open the lockable drawer assigned to my bed because of its position against the wall). Also, I had trouble purchasing a domestic flight to Osh online. There was a poster stating to email the manager for help booking flights to Osh- I even asked reception staff, who also told me to email the manager. Her response was “Sorry I can’t help” — why post the sign and have your staff direct me to do so if unwilling to assist?

Verified reviewThere's a help desk for information on tours and transportation. The kitchen has good equipment.
The tours could be organised better. There was a lot of confusion regarding the logistics of getting there and getting back. The top bunk bed has no railing and it feels like you'll fall if you roll over. I wasn't able to sleep well because I kept waking up afraid I'll fall. First hostel I've stayed in in central Asia that has no free coffee and tea in the kitchen.

Verified reviewBreakfast was nice you get a coupon or two and can get one option on the menu + coffee per coupon. You can get all kinds of info, Souvenirs and tours at the reception.
Sockets are not at every bed. Curtains dont go all around the beds. We checked in at night and had to wait over 30 min before we could check in.

Verified reviewThe breakfast was good, limited as in it’s not exactly going to fill you up but the yeasts was good. The rooms themselves were very clean and the AC was lovely. The location is good, there is a grocery store nearby and shopping. It’s near a main street so it’s easy to get rides.
The first night we had a bathroom connected which was nice to share (we paid extra for our own bathroom) but it made the whole room smell SO BAD. They also didn’t give us towels and when we asked for some they gave us crusty hand towels. Then our group emailed to ask about renting a vehicle to fit 6 which they said they had, they said to pay the deposit in cash on the day of. We went to do so then said the vehicle has been taken and it was our fault for not paying, when we have email proof that they said to pay in cash on that day. They tried to give us another vehicle that wouldn’t fit us and when asked where we were taking the vehicle they said “wow why would you go there”. We ended up waiting almost three hours for the car and still didn’t even get one! That was in contact with the managers sister and one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. Also important to note is one of the receptionists told me (it was late at night and I wasn’t going to walk to the grocery store that late) so went to buy chocolate (the only food they have besides breakfast which is 8-10am) and a water to which they don’t do card except for the actual room and they do USD but only if you pay with a twenty or higher and even if you do they don’t have change to give back to you. The chocolate and water was $4…. They wouldn’t let me buy it. I personally would stay somewhere else. They had people sleeping outside of the facility within the gate and had people sleeping in the common areas which was weird. They also operate in two buildings to which one of my friends stayed in the other facility and went to the grocery, when he back back he waited sooooo long before getting back in bc no one was at the reception desk to respond to the call button from a whole other building. He had to stand outside alone for over 20 minutes.

Verified reviewI booked a double room but they gave me a triple room with 3 single beds, and refused to give me a double. Claimed someone was already in the double. Tried to persuade me it was actually a upgrade because the triple is more expensive, and said they were doing me a favour because they won't charge me extra for the triple. Even though I was a solo traveller. If someone wants to extend and the room they're in is already booked you say no to the extension or move them to a different room, you don't let them stay in the same room when you have someone else checking in expecting that room. Poor service.

Verified reviewThe staff were very kind and helped me find the bus terminal.
There was no air conditioning, so it was very hot when I went to sleep. It wasn't a problem with the facilities, but the snoring of the person in the same room kept me up. The shower only had cold water, but it wasn't a problem since it was summer.

Verified reviewWe slept in a room for 4 persons in a building next to the swimming pool. It was very convenient since we were with kids. the advantage for us was that we had kitchen to use and a shared bathroom but only with another double room. Hostel helps in arranging various tours . Staff speaks English so the communication is easy.
The area outside the building was dirty . The bed linen had stains. Washing machine didn’t work. Even though we had a spacious kitchen to use , there were only two cups (no glasses) and two plates. Breakfast was so and so . There were pancakes in the menu but they were never available. Swimming pool is nice but there is this strange rule that you have to wear a swimming cap if you want to use it. Of course nobody takes a swimming cap on such a trip . You can buy one in the reception but they are hilarious . In the end , I didn’t see anyone using the pool . One girl got into water to cool herself and left immediately. My kids were crying that they would not put the cap on (I am really not surprised and you also wouldn’t be if you saw those caps on someone’s head). And we chose this hostel only because of the swimming pool.

Verified review1st 2 nights I had a big room with shared bathroom and kitchen with one other room. That was great.
After I cane back from my trek, I had to go in a 12 person dorm. No thanks, too cramped and dirty for me. Big difference between the 2.
