We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

DenmarkWhen we were there in January, it was not possible to get an early breakfast at 7 o'clock despite it stating that it was indeed possible. It's a challenge when you have an early pickup for a trip.
Best dinners ever, especially the Fish Amok. The outdoor restaurant area was cosy and staff was wonderfull and helpfull with practicalities relating to booking bus tickets etc. The room was comfortable.

China1. The sound insulation of the room is not good. The sound of the surrounding guests walking and closing doors in the early morning can be heard. 2. The window of our room can't be locked. Remember safety is very important in this country.
1. The room is very spacious. 2. It's within walking distance to the royal palace, very very center. 3. Good value! You get everything best at this price, AC, hot shower, free wifi, a lovely public space. 4. Staffa are very very helpful. Thumbs up!

AustraliaTV not working. Difficult narrow spiral staircase to upper rooms (though staff assisted with suitcase); perhaps not suited to guests with mobility issues. No view from balcony. Drinks over-priced.
Excellent location - shady side-street in best of old town. Friendly, safe area. Staff well-meaning and courteous but inexperienced. Shower, toilet and aircon all functioning well. Bed comfortable. Property very clean. Bottled water supplied. Reliable wifi.

New ZealandMy toilet got blocked, even though I was not putting loo paper in there. Apparently has happened in that room before. Was quite inconvenient and rather embarrassing having to get someone to come and plunge it as there was not a plunger in room. But, they were very friendly about it.

JapanUpon arrival at Bat Chum Villa, the staff attempted to overcharge my card for my stay by 15%, lying as to why they had to do this. When I refused , they tried to negotiate a higher price than booking.com guaranteed. I refused and had to go looking for an international ATM close to midnight to get cash to pay them , which I did: PAID IN FULL.The Aircon in the room was broken, which is a big deal in Phnom Penh. I was promised a fan, which never arrived. Also, the room was filthy.The next morning , I spoke to the (French) owner of Bat Chum Villa, who said... and I quote "This is Cambodia. It's normal ." And he walked off . I realized then there was no point engaging with these scammers. I had to go find another hotel to stay in.I understand that Booking.com finds it difficult to keep tabs on every scammer and ghost hotel in Asia, but to recommend this place and mislead customers is appalling.This whole experience has been disgusting and I've paid more than double my original payment over the past two days.It's totally unacceptable to be treated like this by Bat Chum Villa

FinlandIn my room there was no remote for the air conditioner, a socket for a kettle was near the floor, the sink was clogged, and water was leaking from under the sink. On the second day I found a huge cockroach in the room - the hotel шы dirty, the manager said that cockroaches were being poisoned in the room, but they didn’t warn me, I didn’t remove my things or food. The worst thing is the irresponsible attitude of the staff towards their duties and promises. At the time of check-in, the room we paid for with a balcony and amenities was occupied!!! The manager suggested “to live in the one that’s available for now,” without a balcony or amenities! And no feeling of guilt or responsibility, no financial compensation was offered. The safe in the room was broken. The manager promised to fix it in 10 minutes, we waited for him for 2 (!) hours, after which he came and offered to carry cash and documents with us! But we specifically booked a more expensive room with a safe, because Phnom Penh is not a safe city. I absolutely didn’t like the staff’s indifference to their obligations and promises
