Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThis island is completely what expected and more. There wasn't anything not to like.
This resort is very well run by the owners. It has a lovely community feel and the facilities are all you need for this remote and peaceful island. Highly recommend coming to this island paradise for a complete blissfull and relaxing stay. Life is simple here and a real change of pace. You will be well fed and looked after well.

GreeceWi-fi very limited and working some hours in the day; probably we weren’t that ready to face that “challenge”. The beach is not that clean and snorkeling is not good; the underwater world is almost non-existing. Both the Wi-Fi and the water quality is not something one can blame the hosts about; as we reckon our stay we find the room a bit overpriced though.
The wooden houses are super nice, very simple yet beautifully designed, right next to the beach. The property stands alone, having no “neighbor” properties around which ensures your sense of privacy and safety. Kavita and Michael seem to be very nice, interesting, organized and supportive people; they will take care of you and your needs.

Everything about koh Thmei Resort was perfect. It had everything you needed to enjoy the peace, quiet and beautiful setting. Lovely food, vegans were catered for. Lovely hosts, very friendly and helpful. They have worked so hard to provide a place that provides its own energy sustainably with conscious approaches to having as low an impact as possible on the lovely environment. So interesting to see what they have achieved. They are an inspiration.

Koh Thmei Resort was exactly what we wanted after travelling and sight seeing for a month in Cambodia. We were worried about the speed of change and development on some islands and therefore not knowing what we would be confronted with. Koh Thmei is properly off the beaten track and quite basic on a virtually deserted, undeveloped island. The journey there by the hotels boat is from a small, authentic fishing village. With just 8 bungalows we enjoyed a very quiet and relaxing few days filled with reading, swimming, board games, jigsaws, chatting to the owners, small group of staff and fellow guests or watching amazing sunsets followed by the flying foxes leaving the jungle each evening. The food is absolutley delicious and has a good selection for vegetarians. We loved it and felt like a part of a family by the time we left. We even enjoyed the fact that Wi-Fi is very limited.

United KingdomGetting to the island itself for us was not a relaxing experience - the boat journey was very stressful, as it was very choppy and the crossing takes 45 minutes from the fishing village. There is no other way to the island however, so you just need to be lucky with the weather and keep your valuables hidden away for the duration of the journey. The journey back was a bit better for us. Overall, we could have been very unlucky with our boat crossings, but feel it is important to note that this is the only way you can reach the island. Make sure the driver wraps you in waterproof material, to be safe both ways.
The resort's location on the island is very remote, which makes the experience feel novel and peaceful. There are not too many rooms, so it is not very busy with lots of tourists. The food is very good and the service is great. The bungalows are comfortable and large. The nearest beaches are kept as clean as possible by the owners.

United KingdomThere is not a great deal to do on the island but it is a great place to relax and read or swim. The wonderful trip to the local reef made it for us.
Michael and Kavita really work hard to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. The food is lovely. The boat excursion to a local reef was outstanding and we really liked Michael's efforts to keep the beach and reef clean. Michael was also extremely helpful in getting us to and from Phon Phem and answering our many questions.

food amazing and huts basic but super super nice and comfortable

United KingdomNothing.
Kavita and Michael have created a little tropical commune on this (essentially) uninhabited island. This is a place for slowing down and taking a break from your self. All your troubles disappear as soon as you step on the boat which takes you to the resort in 1hr from the mainland along unspoilt blue waters. No internet reception, just the sea, books and games, exceptional tropical cocktails, delicious food, spending time petting the many resident animals and making new friends. Michael’s evening soundtrack in the bar (90s/00s CD collection) is pure nostalgia. Do not miss the snorkelling trip off the coast of an uninhabited nearby island, the most unspoilt coral I’ve seen in the region. We will return.

United KingdomNothing - it was all amazing!
The location was idyllic, so secluded and out of the way of everything that it was perfect. It takes a few different modes of transport to get there, but is SOOOO worth it when you do - perfect! I read the reviews before I came and they were all correct, you feel like part of the family very quickly and it's so beautiful - very unlike any other part of Cambodia as it's completely unspoiled.

United KingdomI can understand if people want an air-conditioned luxury place with wifi to work on an Instagram island, but they’ll be disappointed going here. However, for an authentic Cambodian island break, I couldn’t ask for more.
Truly an unforgettable time and a perfect spot to step back from the world. The resort is as quiet and private as you can hope for, and with phone reception (from Vietnam!) only available in a corner of the restaurant, you get to enjoy being present and not glued to technology. The owners answered every question we had, and catered to food requests for different dietary requirements. A trip snorkelling was well worth it as the coral on the neighbouring island is beautiful and, again, extremely private to view. The rooms are wooden bungalows on stilts like you’d imagine as a child and were comfortable enough to stay in, but of course aren’t ever going to be Hilton hotels with air conditioning. Authentic and jungle-like is what you have, which was perfect for what was expected. Hornbills perch outside the room and you hear the sounds from the trees when sleeping or relaxing in your hammock. If you’ve ever dreamed of going to an island paradise, this is it. Would definitely return if I am in Cambodia again.

United KingdomIt did not feel as pristine as we expected - the sea was a bit murky, not blue. Waking up to frogs inside cabin 7 was not good but we were swiftly moved and it was okay afterwards.
It is an intimate, small hotel and felt properly off the beaten track. The food was good and not overpriced.
