Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI liked everything, but it could do with a bit of an upgrade on rooms they are a bit dated. The sound system did not work so no soft music at dining area which meant it lacked a little ambiance.
The location was amazing, the pool and pool area were great. Restaurant and breakfast were also good. Nice touch having bikes to cycle to rooms as we were in bungalow D which was furthest away from front hotel. I believe the best place to stay for luxury on this side of the island

AustraliaPool lounges falling apart and area was very rundown. All rooms were a long way from main areas & uphill. Linen old & worn . Fridge in rooms not cold. Cannot comment on resturaunt as ate nearby at resturaunts along beach, which were excellent value and food. No luggage tables. Requested ice and was delivered to room at a cost. Bar had no fruit for drinks first few days - all other bars on island did (as did resturaunt) so not a supply issue. No poolside service. These were stated on hotel description. .
Breakfast was lovely, with fresh varieties of bread baked on site daily. Rooms were comfortable and cool.

United KingdomSome of the wooden walkways are in need of replacement - but this is a small point and overall the resort is very well cared for
This is certainly the best hotel on the beach - set in beautiful grounds that go back from the sea with a lovely pool. Other resorts at a similar price point- like Eden - feel cramped in comparison.

United KingdomThe aesthetic of the hotel was amazing and we loved the pool area and that the resort was right on the beach. The bikes to get around were also really cool and the room was nice. My main criticism is the quality of the food didn’t match the price. The price to eat in the hotel was up to 3x other options nearby, and the food was the worst we had in Cambodia - it’s not terrible but it wasn’t worth the price tag.

This hotel is absolutely stunning—one of the best and most well-maintained on the island! The rooms are spotless, the breakfast is delicious, and the beach is simply breathtaking. The staff is incredibly friendly and always ready to help, making the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

The dive centre is at the resort which was easy! The staff and very friendly and helpful! There’s a shop and a massage place a short walk away

Amazing beach location with stunning view of the bay. Infinity pool with hammocks and sun lounges surrounding. Individual villas with free shared bike access if you don't fancy walking the 10 minutes or so back to your room. Very quiet location. Lovely restaurant with comprehensive breakfast served. HungaryThe restaurant staff appeared to prioritize a group reservation during our stay, which led to less attentive service for other hotel guests.
This is without a doubt the best hotel on the island. The property is exceptionally well-maintained, with high-quality materials and excellent facilities. The pool and beachfront are always spotless, offering a consistently clean and relaxing environment. Beach towels are conveniently available daily at the bar, adding to the overall comfort. They also offer free shuttle service from and to the ferry/speeboat.

CambodiaThe tractors going past the beach every day, not exactly safe for the kids to play on the beach but super helpful when it came to checking in from the ferry. Honestly, it is super expensive for what you're getting.
The location is excellent and the beachfront was beautiful. Certainly grateful to the staff who clean the beach daily. The bikes were a great addition to the site, although ours kept getting taken by other guests from outside.

United KingdomNot the fault of the hotel but the sea is full of plastic pollution. They do their best to keep it clean but it cannot help but impact the beautiful island. Such a shame. Beaches on the other side are much better but a bit of challenge to get there.
Beautiful hotel. Great breakfast buffet. Super helpful staff cannot do enough for you. Lovely pool area. Lovely rooms some with plunge pools.

AustraliaNothing to complain about. A drink and snack service around the pool would be great and hopefully provide more business for the hotel.
Although a large resort, La Passion never feels crowded because the rooms are laid out in a large and beautiful tropical garden. During our third visit, we noticed a great improvement in the training and language skills of all staff members. The rooms were always clean and tidy. The breakfast was reliably good and the meals in the restaurant excellent. This is an extremely well-managed property.

GermanyBreakfast could be a little bit more diverse / rich in choices. Prices in the restaurant are high (but not completely off) - thus making the restaurant often very empty. Not sure if this is the sweet spot for the hotel.
Very nice Resort at a very remote beach. Beautiful place with great pool, amazing beach access with super white sand, beautifully lightened garden and friendly staff. Beds are hard, but we did not experience them as rock hard as some people are writing here. We hope the island stays as it is as a true gemstone for remote relaxation and the deforestation of the island stopps!

United KingdomProbably because it was early in the season so the staff were mainly new but it was very hard to get an answer to simple questions. We had to ask 7 people before finding out if there was a Christmas menu or not, and were told by one person there was, and turns out there wasn’t. Just seemed something the staff should know since we can’t have been the only tourists asking this. I don’t blame them as individually the staff were nice, but the management are probably a bit inept and are not thinking about things guests are going to need to know and therefore not sharing information with the new staff. There was another time we were due to be picked up from another beach by the tractor and it just never came - again my assumption is there are just no systems or solid communication in place to record where and when people need to be collected. Much easier just to text the number they give you if you need anything as speaking to staff individually mainly gets you nowhere. All staff were nice though; bar one who was rude on more than one occasion, I won’t name the name as don’t want to risk his job but he was very unprofessional. The restaurant is overpriced and has a very limited menu. Breakfast was very good. We were quoted $25 for the tractor to take us to another beach which is ridiculous, so we walked which isn’t far but my mother-in-law has a bad leg. Not the hotel’s fault but the island is receiving some horrible development. Large areas of the forest have been cut down to make way for a ridiculously wide road for an island with no cars which links different beaches. A real shame and think it’s a sign of awful development to come.
The rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. Saw some reviews claim the mattresses are too hard which I don’t think is true at all - we all slept great. Pool is nice. Definitely the nicest hotel on the island that we could see.

United KingdomThe restaurant at the hotel had some good food options but is SO crazy expensive. It is a shame as it was very empty every evening. We would have eaten here but instead went along the beach where most places were more then half the price of the hotel. The prices of the food let the rest of the hotel down.
We had a great stay at La Passion, the resort is a lot bigger than we realised but it is beautiful. The gardens are so well kept, the swimming pool has unreal views and the whole place is very clean and tidy. The room was very big, great shower, strong wifi, comfortable bed and was cleaned every day. The breakfast buffet has lots of options and the food was really nice. The pool has plenty of beds with swimming towels. The staff were helpful when it came to organising us transport to and from the island. We would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.
