The marble staircase with wooden banister is the fist thing to catch your eye, then the wood statues and art work, the corner rooms are oddly shaped but large, huge comfortable bed, aircon and fan, the room comes with all necessities, staff good, great pool, location good with near by restaurants, staff was good, great value for money.

No wardrobe, no kettle. Fan room was definitely too hot even in the cool season of December.

The stay was saved because you can use a swimming pool of their other property 100m away. Room was quite big and spacious.

The staff are ok and friendly. Not always proactive but then they don't earn much either. Helpful when asked.

Pool was great. Location is walking distance to most things. Room is big. Fridge was working ok. Tuk Tuk aways available outside the door at a fair price. Cleaning was good.

A/C started rattling after a while or wouldn't switch on when we came back after a day trip. Some of the reception staff speak no English whatsoever. Wi-Fi was very spotty.

Location was great, lots of good restaurants and the market within walking distance. The pool that can be used as a guest was only about a 3 minute walk away and very nice, great bonus. The towels were really big and clean so was the bedding. Overall good value for money, considering location and use of pool.

The hotel looked like they didn't do any maintenance over the last 2 years. The room was simple, cleaning didn't happen (stayed only 2 nights) and we had a lot of red ants in the room

It was very close to the market. The pool at the other hotel was nice.

air conditioning wasn’t working, lots of cobwebs but the bed and surface areas were clean, didn’t know about the pool being off site until we checked in - wasn’t an issue but would rather know before hand

good location, nice pool area (not on site but less than a 2 min walk away so can’t complain), Wi-Fi worked well, free bottles of water everyday and fridge in room

This was my second stay of 13 nights at the Lux Guesthouse; last time was in February 2024. Was allocated Room 3001 initially, but the air conditioner wasn't working. Was moved into 3002 which was a better room as it had a double bed and a single. I used the single to lay out my belongings as there is no wardrobe. Large room and good bathroom. Room was serviced about 7 times this visit. Love the access to the swimming pool at the Villa Lux Hotel.

They didn't switch off the light on the balcony, so it was very light in my room although I had the curtains closed. That was the second night.The first night they told me the light will be finished at 11 pm automatically. The Air Con was very loud. So I switched it off, but even taken off the room key for electricity it continued with loud noise. I couldn't stop it and couldn't sleep any more after 2 am the second night. For the 3rd night they gave me another room. Two rooms that they offered I noticed, that the door couldn't be closed.safely. I could open the room door easily with my nail file, although the door was locked. The 3rd room was okay then.

They had a nice swimming pool 200 meters away. That was clean.

The bed was covered in ants, went to sleep thinking they had been killed and woke up to them all over the bed! In addition, the AC does not work.

The bed was really uncomfortable. The bathroom ceiling looked like it was due to collapse . The windows had metal guards on the inside with the outside of the window so dusty it had no view at all. A lizard was in the room when we left!

There were ants and bugs all over the room, floor, bathroom and in the bed, we know that it’s hard to avoid some bugs but it was really really terrible. When we told staff for their sake and our own, they did not seem to care and said they’d spray the room, however there continued to be ants all over when we got back. The AC is also switched off by reception whenever you leave the building, so the room was extremely humid and stuffy whenever we came back. Again, we asked staff to leave it on when we went out for dinner but this was not done. The AC also turned off after about 10mins, which meant we’d wake up constantly too hot. I understand this place is cheaper than most but you don’t expect such an awful stay as a paying guest.

Room not serviced on 3 days out of 12, so no complimentary water those days, though I did help myself to the cleaners trolley. As others have said, no lift and I had 83 steps to the 4th floor; made me fitter.

In Battanbang for a 2 week volunteer project at Bospos. Chose Lux Guesthouse as an alternative to last year's stay. Had a bigger, more spacious room. Clean facilities. Comfortable bed. Air conditioning worked. Didn't use TV or bar fridge, but assumed they worked. Used the pool at the Lux Villa, 50 meters up the street. booked for another 2 weeks next year. Close to market, ATMs, money changers, restaurants.
