Hi Chiara, thank you so much for highlighting our hostel's fantastic location. We understand where you’re coming from with your feedback. We do go to great lengths in our online marketing, videos, and room descriptions to make it clear that we are a party hostel. That said, the music is turned off by 11:30 p.m. to ensure we follow quiet hours, leaving ample time to relax. Had you informed us at the time, we would have gladly moved you to a new room if one were available. We hope you’ve been enjoying your travels since.

Hi Lucrezia, we came across your booking.com message aside from the review that you wrote us, and we are disheartened to learn about both the low scores that you gave to us. Our sincerest apologies if we did not perform to the high standards we usually maintain. When it comes to cleanliness for Mad Monkey Phnom Penh, we typically get compliments and rank high on the leaderboards, but in this instance, it appears that we fell short. In actuality, the room that you stayed in was recently painted. Nevertheless, you can be assured that this has been discussed with our housekeeping team.  In terms of serving time, we only provided table service during the day. While for the evening, guests collect their drinks in the bar. In some cases, if the guest left the bar, we would assume that they wanted it with their food, or if we struggled to spot them. Regarding the food, if we have an influx of guests that arrive at the same time, there may be a longer serving period. Lastly, we are sorry that the concept of our hostel did not appeal to you and that we did not receive your support. Since we are a party hostel, the majority of our guests are indeed young people and backpackers, and the place doesn't lean on a tranquil atmosphere. Hi Igli, thank you for the review. We understand your frustration. However, the ripped or crumpled notes are strictly not accepted in Cambodian banks; the banks will change this to foreigners but not for locals, which makes us lose revenue if we accept it. We hope for your understanding regarding the matter. Rest assured that this is also being observed on our Koh Rong property. We sincerely apologize for any misunderstanding that may have arisen on behalf of the individual you brought attention to in this review. Throughout the time we've worked with her, this team member has consistently received excellent feedback on platforms, and we know her to be a genuine person. If the impression you had was different, we are sorry for this. Lastly, the music is entirely switched off at 11:30 p.m. Since our hostel is designed to be a party hostel, we do ask that guests be mindful of others. Our security team will intervene when someone is disrupted to an extreme degree or reported to us during the stay. The security undertakes regular walks of the floor in addition.
