Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandIt gets very hot in the room, the ceiling fan spins very slowly, I think ours was broken, as it didn't go to the higher speeds. The ventilation of the rooms is non excisting, so it can get hotter than the outside air. If you need a beach, there is none, but the main beach is a short walk away.
Secluded, nice settings, nice view. Good food. Nice breakfast.

CambodiaThe place is clean and quiet , green and relaxing 😌 I fell in love with the private beach even though it is not a full sandy beach - it is a beach with nobody around 😁. We were happy to stay here! I highly recommend it to everyone who is looking for an empty chilling place. Big Thank you to the Chef ! 🙏☺️🙏🙌👏👏👏👍 All the food we had ordered was so Delicious 😋🤤 also the included breakfast were very good). United KingdomHotel was advertised as being a 10minute walk from the main beach however the description didn't state that the rest of the restaurants and activities were the opposite end of the beach. So it's at least a 40 minute walk to get to anything else. The description also stated that the hotel had a private beach however this is an exaggeration. The beach was unkempt and messy with no seats or facilities to
The rooms were very nice and clean. Exactly as described for the villas. Staff were friendly and super helpful

AustraliaIt is the first place in SE Asia that we weren’t provided with water and had to pay for it. Important to note: they also charged 5% service and 10% tax on meals, we weren’t aware of it but there is a lovely restaurant next door that doesn’t! Perhaps some mosquito nets would also help, we were bitten very badly.
A little bit out from the main areas, but could walk to main pier and to opposite side of the island.

SwedenTwo things made me sad. The first was the bed linen which was completely black fabric which meant that I couldn't see my expensive black camera on the bed as with a slight movement it fell to the floor and got seriously damaged. The second was the night bus connection that I bought through the accommodation. It was a horrible experience as for 11 hours I had to lie in a short and dirty bed on the bus and freeze as the blanket and pillow looked so dirty that I didn't want to sleep in them at all. Then in the middle of the journey a stranger steps into your narrow bed which you are forced to share with.
I liked almost everything there. It felt right for a longer stay. The food, the staff, the room inside and out. The view and even the location on the island.

United KingdomOn arrival the owner didn't even say hello, not very welcoming at all. Strange chap who spoke when it suited him, not something that you expect in hospitality. The lady on reception made us very welcome and made our stay a pleasant one.
Bit out of the way location but you know that when you book it. We enjoyed the pool table, the nature. The staff were very helpful and polite. Breakfast was good and the restaurant served great food at reasonable prices.

ItalySadly, the place , as well as any touristic place, is often dirty: plastic bottlles, cans, bags, and many other kinds of garbage. Some villas are placed very close to the jungle beside, and around the buildings brushwoods gows, no one cut and it is nor beautiful to nor safe, because it attracs a lot of mosquitoes.
Silence, peace, trees and shadow to take a rest from hot and sun. The resort has a very big potential, but there's still a lot to work on it, which is not easy on the Koh Rong Samloem island. I guess the staff does the best they can. The rooms and the villas are big enough and very cozy, perfect for a romantic or relaxing vacation.

United KingdomThis is for information only, not a 'dislike,' and has had no bearing on how we rated the hotel. This hotel does not work with the Buva Sea (ferry company to/from the mainland), there are numerous ferry companies operating. If you have booked your ferry prior to your hotel (like we did), then you will need to liaise directly with Buva Sea to arrange your return a day in advance, either by visiting their Pier at Eden Resort or by calling them - the hotel offered the use of their phone, but we'd already make our way to the Eden Resort Pier. When discussing the return with Buva Sea, make sure you state you would like to be picked up from Soon Noeng (Paradise Pier), rather than from Eden Resort (this will save you an hour's walk with bags on the beach and/or $5pp for the water taxi from the hotel). If you haven't booked your ferry, the hotel will assist with ferry bookings and water taxi to any pier required.
A comfortable stay on the island and only a short walk from the main beach. Staff were friendly and the room was clean - a lovely couple of days relaxing, thank you Laguna.

AustraliaMonkeys but to be fair we are out in nature so that is understandable. Distance from main beach non issue if you would like to take water taxi. Bed was kind of hard but not a massive deal for myself but more my partner.
Staff were super welcoming, enjoyed the tennis court and pool table. Food was pretty good. Room was decent size. Deck area was very nice with the touch of two egg chairs. Great exercise to main beach. I love the two dogs.

United KingdomThe beach nearby was small and little messy so you gotta go for a walk to get to a really nice beach. Although i think they are clearing this up. To get to the best ones you got to walk maybe 30 minutes to an hour. The villa could do with a kettle.
I loved the little villa i was staying in. It was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The food was good but sometimes limited on options. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

GermanyIt's a real shame that nobody at the resort feels responsible for the garbage that washes up. I understand that this is a tedious task when new garbage is washed up every day, but other resorts had a better handle on this. We never saw anyone go around and pick up the garbage. So the small beach at the resort was effectively unusable. Instead, we walked to the other side of the island and went to "Lazy Beach", which was very nice and clean. We were "warned" in advance that there was no hot water and no air conditioning, so this didn't bother us as much as the garbage. The ceiling fan was unfortunately only of limited help in cooling the room. The Wi-Fi in the room was also not really usable, but quite good in the restaurant. Regarding the restaurant: even though the staff were very friendly, they had no experience in gastronomy (e.g. we only ever got napkins on request). Breakfast was included but not filling. The pizza advertised as 30 cm was much smaller than 30 cm. On our last day we ordered two sandwiches. This took longer than 30 minutes, even though we were the only ones in the restaurant. So we had to have it packaged so that we could still catch our ferry back to the mainland. Unfortunately, the cutlery for the salad and - once again - the napkins were forgotten. We had booked a transfer by taxi boat from the resort to the pier on the other side of the bay from where the ferry departs. The taxi boat - which is operated by the resort - is quite expensive at 5 dollars per person - it would be fairer if they charged 5 dollars per trip and not per person. In the middle of the bay, the engine suddenly stopped working. After a few minutes of uncertainty, a few unsuccessful attempts to start it and a bit of tinkering with the engine, it eventually worked again so that we just about managed to catch our ferry.
The resort has great potential, but unfortunately it has not been fully exploited. But first the positive things: the location is nice and quiet and we had a great view of the bay from our room. In the evening, you can fall asleep to the many sounds of the jungle. Once we saw two toucans right outside our door. The staff are all very friendly, especially the South African lady at reception. The food in the restaurant always tasted very good.

South AfricaThe distance from the main beach is not so great. It's quite a distance to walk. You Need to walk or take a taxi boat. The trail from Mangrove Resort to Laguna is not in good shape and not lit at night. There's a gravel trail and some mushy spots to gross. Not recommended for elderly people. We had water and electricity cuts at two different times. We were only informed and assisted after mentioning it to reception even though they knew about it before hand and working on the problem. It eventually was sorted. The menu can be improved. We rather walked and went to other resorts in the bay for drinks, lunch, and dinner. The private beach needs to be cleaned up and promoted. In the hay day it must've been a lovely place. With some improvement and up kept maintenance it can be a great place.
The room and bathroom are a good size. The mattress is very comfortable. Great view from the room. Reflective sliding doors provided good privacy and a great view of the bay. The coffee with breakfast was great. The reception was friendly and helpful.

NetherlandsIn general there is lot of trash around the island and the beaches, which is also the case for the swimming spots around the hotel. Although there are efforts to clean it up, it seems a bit tricky.
The location is great, a bit further from the crowds in Saracen Bay and with plenty of nature around and swimming spots. The room was very spacious, clean and with great views. The staff is very friendly and attentive and the breakfast options are great.

South AfricaThere was no mention beforehand (on booking.com) that we would not be having hot water! And their excuse for this is that the weather is hot so we wouldn't need it. They could really fix some of the mosquito nettings in the rooms and clean more thoroughly between guests. Overcharging for a lot of things / EVERYTHING costs money - for example the activities like playing pool costs $5 for an hour, we had the special of the night, which was BBQ for $10 and got such a small portion that we considered walking to the resort next door for more food. They had multiple cocktails on their menu and when we wanted to order some they couldn't make any of it.
The receptionist (Winona) was absolutely lovely. The view from the rooms were nice. The boat tour offered through them was great and good value for money.

IndiaOffering a wider variety of options, particularly in fresh fruits, baked goods, and hot items, would cater to different preferences and add more flavor to the meal.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Samloem Laguna Resort, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The resort itself is beautifully nestled by pristine beaches, offering stunning views of the crystal-clear waters and lush greenery that surround it. Our room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, blending comfort with a touch of island charm. Waking up to the gentle sounds of the ocean was a highlight, and the private balcony allowed us to soak in the breathtaking scenery. The food was excellent

The area is very remote, peaceful and quiet. We were in a villa with cocoon chairs and the showers were refreshing. Vadim and the team were lovely
