Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Sandy Beach Resort was all we'd hoped for.. A perfectly comfortable wooden chalet right on the beach with a lovely porch to sit out on when we weren't just chilling on the beach :-) The food was great, the breakfasts really good and the service was impeccable. The sea was beautiful and the snorkelling over by the rocks was fabulous. I'd seen a number of negative reviews about the resort (mainly about the prices in the restaurant), but we really couldn't fault it and will definitely be going back

SpainOwever, we weren’t fully informed about how difficult it would be to reach the beach. From Saracen Beach, we had to take a private taxi boat, which cost €5 per person, and walking around is quite limited. The area is still under construction with several ongoing works, and there is a lot of noise. Sadly, the beach is full of plastic and trash, which was disappointing. The bungalows do not have mosquito nets, so we had to leave the air conditioning on all night to avoid being bitten. If you’re looking for a comfortable place at a reasonable price with your own space, it’s a good option. However, it’s not surrounded by nature as I expected. The area has several resorts, construction work, loud music, and a lot of plastic waste.
We stayed at Sandy Beach Bungalows and overall, it was a nice experience also if not what we were looking for. The bungalows are very spacious and come with various amenities like a hairdryer, kettle, shampoo, and body soap. The bathroom is large and comfortable, making it easy to relax. The breakfast was also very good, rich in options, and we enjoyed it a lot. We took part in the plankton tour at night, and it was definitely worth it. We saw many more plankton than from the shore, which was an incredible experience. The staff was friendly and helpful in several instances. We made a mistake with our booking, and they were kind enough to assist us and accommodate our needs.

United KingdomRubbish dumped close by, however this seems to be the problem all over Cambodia. No daily housekeeping so had to ask for water and toilet rolls. Expensive for what was on offer and compared to elsewhere in Cambodia.
Quiet, peaceful, on the beach, rustic, good view. Staff were very nice and helped us with a few different issues. Facilities of two other resorts able to be used.

Beach front bungalow. The ocean right out your door steps. Beautiful view of the ocean. Clean rooms. Lovely bathroom. Wonderful place. I swam in the warm ocean everyday.

CambodiaThis is an excellent place to stay if you want to enjoy something increasingly rare in Cambodia - beachside bungalows. So many have been knocked down on the islands and these are one of the few that's left. Wonderful view and you can hear the waves in bed at night!

United KingdomThere was no restaurant as it’s currently under construction from what we were told but the resort next door provided food.
The bungalows are perfectly placed on the beach front and quick to access from the mainland. The aircon was a lifesaver with the heat! The bedroom was clean and well presented and the bathroom was really nice! Overall stunning bungalow!

SerbiaMosquitoes! Make sure you bring the device for mosquitoes since there is no net in room( i wouldnt use it either way, im just saying). Restaurant under reconstruction so it didnt work but had no issues with that since theres one like 100m from rooms and one uphill( the uphill one had better food and it was worth walking to every day)
Our host went above and beyound to ensure our stay there was best possible. Remote beach with not many people. A trully wonderfull place to stay and get yourself together. Bungallows were sweet but a bit worn, still we didnt mind since we were only sleeping inside and nothing else. All the staff were super polite and helpful. Beds were comfortable, room was clean and the ac was doing a pretty good job.

United KingdomSun beds on the beach have no mattress, so you are lying directly on the wood and can get uncomfortable quickly. Lots of construction work happening down the on another resort close by, which you have to walk through to get to the shop and ferry pier. The walkways are uneven and a mix of sand/stones/wood. I think normally you would have a lot more choice when it comes to food and drink, however with the construction work and lack of tourists this isn’t the case - just the Tube Resort restaurant on your doorstep.
The location is everything here. We stayed here for 3 nights, looking for some relax time and that’s exactly what we got. We were the only ones staying in the bungalows (ahead of a fully booked long weekend for the water festival). Not much around other than the resort next door (Tube) which is where we eat and the food was great. There is another bar/restaurant on the hill (Arts) which we also went to and enjoyed. Beach is fabulous and the water is clear and warm. Bungalows are basic but very comfortable. We had wifi issues when we arrived and they quickly offered for us to change bungalows for a better signal - which we did. Sambath was lovely and greeted us off the ferry and put us on it going back. He was there if we ever needed anything or had any questions. If you’re looking for lots to do then this isn’t the place. But if you are looking to get away and relax then we can’t recommend enough.

CanadaFirst, there are no cushioned seats or lounges to hang out in, which detracts a bit from a lazy day in and out of the water. It was inconsistent whether or not we received water for the room everyday, and the room was not cleaned very often. It was disappointing to find out that there were no free shuttles to Saracen (which was advertised when we reserved through booking.com, and part of the reason we chose Sandy Beach). Finally, large groups came in for a night or two of partying, and were sometimes quite loud.
Location, location! The beach was immediately in front of the bungalow and the water temperature perfect for swimming. Here you are protected from the devopment occuring elsewhere on the island. Saracen Bay, Lazy Beach, Sunset Beach and the lighthouse were all in hiking distance, or you could hire a boat to Saracen and walk from there. The staff were friendly, and overall we felt it was good value for the price.

United KingdomSandy Beach resort, and the island as a whole, are clearly still in post-pandemic recovery mode and the facilities are in need of some TLC. There are no padded cushions for the wooden sun-beds on the beach, only plastic chairs to sit in on the verandas. No hammocks or swings. Food is very limited - not much at all for vegans - and the mini-mart is low on stock. You can eat at the two other resorts along the beach who have broader menus.
This resort is absolutely fine for a ‘no frills’ stay in a quiet location, on a beautiful beach with clear, turquoise water. The staff are friendly and helpful and the accommodation (cabins and the wooden bungalows) if basic, is clean and comfortable enough, with air-con.

United KingdomThis may be only our experience however, we had a returning rat come into our room rummaging through our bin and climbing the tables for food through the night which kept us up all night one night (we stayed 2 nights) we let the staff know and someone came to clear it out however, the rat was not there when they arrived. There must be a hole which it can easily access through (in the bathroom) which sucks because it is a very nice bungalow but this fellow rat ruined it for us.
These bungalows are actually unreal, the view, the bathroom and the bedroom. The air con gets nice a cold. You get free breakfast at one of the restaurants nearby which is delicious and next to the beach.

GermanyConstruction work with caterpillars all day (and sometimes at night) directly next to the cottages, lots of garbage behind the huts (rusty tractors, construction garbage, bottles, plastic...). there are only 3 resorts on this beach, to get to the beach wirh some bars etc you'll have to walk 1,5hrs through the jungle or take a boat (only possible in daytime). so you can only eat in the restaurants (expensive for cambodia, burger 7$) or shop in a badly equipped minimarket. Better price/value in Thailand, even on touristic islands like Koh Samui or Koh Phangan!
