How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe bungalows are basic, but pretty much standard for the village. They are only a few steps to the beach and about 50 yds to the main area. There is no hot water but you seriously don't need it, a cold shower is definitely welcome in the heat and humidity. The Khmer family that own and run it are so lovely and helpful and welcoming. Yaya is always smiling and gives the biggest wave every time she sees you. She does laundry for the standard 1 dollar per kilo and was always perfectly clean and ready the next day. The location of the bungalows, although close to the beach, are also in the jungle/gardens which means that there isn't much of a breeze and there are a lot of mosquitoes about, but it is green season so to be expected. You will also get a lot of geckoes inside but you gotta embrace your surroundings. I am already booked to return for another long stay.
Dodging the mangoes falling from the trees was a bit of a challenge 😂
thanks for your comment and stayed my Bungalow

Verified review50 metres from the beach The WIFI was ok
2 x single beds pushed together, with the wooden frame sticking up in the middle. The bungalow was like staying in a microwave oven, with a tiny electric fan. Rubbish visible on most of the island 80% unfriendly locals Food was second rate, with little choice and overpriced There is no kettle in the room

Verified reviewThe location is really good, close to the beach. When I was there it rained a lot and even though the bungalow is made of wood, the water did not enter.
The room and bathroom shared the roof with other rooms, and the walls didn't reach the roof, so there was an empty space in between. Of course, you can hear everything from other rooms and even when they turn on the light, light comes into your room too. It depends on the neighbours, and in my case I wasn't very lucky. But still, this is information I wanted to know before!
haha thanks

Verified reviewBrilliant location, good value, nice staff Right on the beach front. Only thing to suggest is new mosquito nets needed in bungalows, holes taped up with plasters meaning we got bitten. Lots of mosquitos at night, can get very hot as only fans in budget rooms.

Verified reviewI stayed a month at Sok Mean Bungalow and really enjoyed my stay. Sopheak, the owner is very helpful in many ways. He will assist you with any need you may have regarding your stay, the island, your health issues, your activities or even your traveling plans. This a a Cambodian Family owned business. All the staff is kind and helpful. They a generous, happy and relax, they are Cambodian . The rooms are basic, no AC, no luxury, but there is everything you need if you travel on a budget. The Bungalows are a plus. I would definitely go back to stay there and upgrade in a Bungalow.

Verified reviewThe friendly owner quickly checked me in. Istayed in one of the cheapest rooms, and they were rustic. The Bungalows looked so much better. The inside of the room was nicely done though, and the bathroom was good, but cold shower only. I liked that there was bug spray and a mosquito coil in the room, but there were no top sheet, only a 'used by everybody ' blanket. The location is superb, right along the happening area of the beach. This little place might very well have the best WiFi in town. It worked perfectly fine, while everywhere else, restaurants or Guesthouses, barely had any WiFi at all. The biggest disappointment for me was the missing kettle, as it clearly says in the description that all rooms are equipped with a kettle.

Verified reviewLoved my little beach hut! It literally took me 10 seconds to walk to the beach through beautifully kept gardens. After a day on the lovely beach it was great to lie in my hammock and relax. I can't wait to come again and will definitely stay in this little bit of paradise!
