Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThey area around the resort was very clean and looked after. But if you walk a little down the beach or inland, there is a lot of plastic litter and the island is heavily under development. With broad roads that are dug across the island (you can see it on Google maps). For now it was still very nice to be there, but I fear for when all the developments are ready. This is obviously not something the staff of Sol beach can be blamed for! Also we had a bit of bad luck with the weather. First days we had an occasional shower, which was no problem. The last days we had two days of almost continuous rain. Rainy season :-)
We enjoyed our stay. Nice bay. Kind people. Breakfast was very nice. The sea was very calm. We enjoyed the sup boards.

United KingdomNothing. It’s not a 5 star resort in its facilities but it’s 5-star in location and staff.
The lodges which opened directly onto the beach were a fantastic location and great place to spend time, and all staff were incredibly helpful and friendly.

SpainThere was no where to unpack or put anything. There was a table in the bedroom but no drawers and there was just a tiny hanging rack in the common area of maybe 40cm. The kids slept upstairs and it was very hot for them.
3 rows of cute wooden villas with an open dining area. There was a spa where you could get a good massage. Very quiet - not luxury but not basic. Nice and chilled, you could choose a range of dishes for breakfast which were prepared for you. The food wasn't expensive. It was on a long beach with well spaced out other villas so you could go to different bars or accommodation to eat. Lovely to walk along the beach in the morning.

United KingdomWe had a tree villa (2 beds) a/c unit was only at head height in the downstairs section. If it was place above the upstair bed the cool air will fall down and both beds would benifit. Upstairs without a/c was just bareable even at night. Also a draw back was the number bitting insects in the evening.
Location on the beach, restuarants a short walk away.

United KingdomThe resort is very dated and would benefit from modernisation, and more lighting around the property as it looks pretty miserable in the evening, also there is no nightime atmosphere as people seem to avoid going to the restaurant but again it hasn't been made to look & feel welcoming. The food in the restaurant wasn't great (although the breakfast was acceptable). We ate at the restaurant 3 times and then decided the 8 minute walk down the beach to other restaurants was worth it, as the food was fabulous at both Sarah's resort & Onederz. Unfortunately, the bed in the bungalow was extremely hard and uncomfortable, but as an experienced traveller, I always take an airbed with me (just in case), so I slept on that. Please note that it's not unusual to find a hard mattress in Thailand/Cambodia/Vietnam as it seems to be their chosen style.
The location is fabulous. You can't help but just chill out. The staff are also very polite & helpful.

SingaporeCurrently construction going on next door. Trash washed up on the beach needs to be clear more often.
Nice clean bungalow facing the bay. Located on a quite part of saracen bay. Perfect for those who just wants to relax. Helpful staff and reasonably priced food in the resort. Reliable WiFi and hot water supply for shower. Drinking water available at reception. Water sports equipment (paddle board, snorkel) available for free.

United KingdomLack of hairdryer. The breakfast was good but if staying more than 3 nights, there is not enough choice. The vegan breakfast is chips. It is not clear but you can order more than 1 item and fruit platter at breakfast.
The beach and location are perfect and absolute paradise. Reception were really helpful with transfer from Sihanoukville and from the peir which was great. The hotel also had free paddle boards and kayaks to use.

United KingdomThe plastic pollution is terrible. Each resort does try to keep their stretch of beach clean. But the bits of beach in-between are covered in plastic waste. The sea is as well.
We had an amazing villa on the beach. The room itself was stunning. Well, air-conditioned. Nice modern bathroom. The hot water takes a while to come through, but that's explained. Lovely resort.

New ZealandBe very mindful windy season from December through to March in the morning you often get high ones but by the afternoon it’s calmed and the beach is beautiful. Like all resorts on Saracen Beach Koh Rong Sanloem there is a real problem with drifting litter So a lot of litter on the beach . But you can walk over to lazy beach which is also shouted from the wind and hardly in any letter.
The location was excellent. Right on the beach. The breakfast were wonderful .

AustraliaWe stayed with another couple in a family villa. There was no privacy between the rooms. If you're staying in the top room, you can literally just look down into the main room as there is no roof on the main room on the first floor. There is only one air conditioner in the villa and it's in the main room on the first floor so the other rooms get quite hot and stuffy as it's not advisable to have the windows open due to mosquitos. The bathroom doors are also just glazed glass so you can pretty much see the other person in the bathroom so if you're staying with your family this may be ok, but as two couples, a tad awkward! Also to note the room on the top just has a small steep ladder to access it so older people or people with a disability would have difficulties getting up and down.
Sol Beach Resort is right on the beach, only a short walk away from the other bigger resorts that have big restaurants and bars attached, so it is nice and quiet and relaxing. The beach is lovely and great for swimming on a calm day. The staff were very helpful and will come and pick you up and drop you off at the pier. I had a Swedish massage on my last day and it was very lovely and super relaxing, would definitely recommend! The breakfast each day was very good, we tried a few different things and all were yummy!

CanadaPrices for excursions were quite high compared to what you could book directly on the beach. No evening barbeque available at this property, however, you could easily wander down the beach for supper elsewhere.
Beautiful place. Right on the beach exactly as advertised. One of the few places on the bay where the rooms looked directly out onto the water. Staff were friendly and willing to assist in anyway they could. Breakfast was good, large variety of North American type items. LOVED the location.

NetherlandsI expected more calm water, but probably because of the season (December with winds), it was not really possible to have a relaxing swim. Unfortunately, not all parts of the beach nearby are clean. As tourists we could also contribute to keep the beach cleaner.
- The beach house was right at the beach. - Limited number of lodges which gives the accommodation a more exclusive status. - Clean and freshly smelling. - Spa facilities available.

United KingdomIt had clearly seen better days, a bit of faded glory. To be expected I suppose as developers are threatening to demolish many of the hotels along the beach. Developers are developing a huge complex beside the hotel, which could be noisy, but because of the high winds when we visited, we didn't notice. The hotel is located a good 15 mins walk up the beach to some nightlife and other (better) bars and restaurants. Take a torch.
Lovely staff, OK breakfast, strong coffee. It has its own beach, the rooms on stilts were great and caught the wind. A bit of Robinson Crusoe!
