Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe noise. People mention it but it is far worse than expected! Longtail fishing boats start at 4am, motorbikes at 4.30 and neighbour’s music at 5! But this is a home stay where you want to experience village life and it’s part of life here so bring ear plugs.
Real immersion into village life. Not for the faint hearted! Great verandah seating area at front and back of house for sitting and watching village and lake life. The bedrooms are curtained off areas with no windows and ours had no light although a fan and mosquito net. Bring head torch! The beds are suspended which might be an issue if you suffer from motion sickness. The food was very good for all meals.

FranceWe would have loved to spend more time with the family to learn more about their life in the village
The location is great and the house is very comfortable (especially the shared bathroom). Nice terrace and view.

DenmarkEverything was great.
The staff are very nice and helpful. They helped us a lot also to book the next bus. To get to the village you need to pay 20$ which includes a boat tour. The place is super clean. There are the usual bugs that come with nature and they didn’t let me kill a cockroach but the experience made me more resilient :) As most reviews already suggest the boats are noisy but to be fair I didn’t even notice much.

United KingdomNoisy. Not the homestays fault but a 2 day wedding with loudspeaker in village made walls reverberate! Also huge thunderstorm, so power cut. Gutter inside overflowed and our neighbours got soaked. Exceptional circumstances however and all sorted out with candles/new bed etc. Even if no wedding, boats noisy. Part of atmosphere but need earplugs!
Certainly an authentic experience right in the middle of it all. Good food and drink available.

Perfect place. Spotless clean, amazing location, excellent food. The best way to visit Kampong Khlean, that is much more than a collection of floating houses. A place full of life where it is worth spending at least one night. No better place to do it than this home stay

United KingdomOther people have commented on noise which is inevitable if you want to stay in these villages . Bring earplugs if it bothers you as it is quite loud from other houses, the boat engines and the temple on the opposite bank of the river (they were installing a new Buddha)
This is a fantastic chance to experience life in one of the stilted villages on the lake but without staying in the squalor usual in those villages. This homestay is exceptionally clean, delicious food and charming helpful staff

AustraliaAbsolutely zero things that we didn't like
A unique opportunity to stay with a beautiful and accommodating family. The beds were so comfortable, the best sleep I've had all week. Theara was the most amazing cook, and very quick. It was lovely to sit with her and her parents and learn about their culture and ways, and to swap stories.

BelgiumNothing except that is quite noisy due to the fisher village waking up early so be sure to take earplugs with you.
My stay in Kampong Khleang was wonderful, I truly recommend staying at tue guesthouse. The family is at your disposal to make you feel at home, have a nice menu, but however talk almost no english which did not enable me to communciate much with them. The guesthouse is really clean, has all facilities needed, and you can take a tour on the lake and walk through the local village. Thank you for your hospitality!!

United KingdomA traditional house on stilts in the least touristy floating village in Cambodia. The kids in the village will greet you as you walk down the streets! The beds are pretty firm and the noise in the morning is pretty loud but if you want to experience life as a local then this is the best way to do it. You will need to pay $5pp to enter the village. We got a tuk tuk from Siem Reap using the Grab app. The guesthouse can also provide transport.
