How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe manager was Incredibly friendly and helpful. Recommended amazing restaurants. The Hanok is in a beautiful setting and totally central. A great experience for a couple of nights.
The coffee machine didn't work and the breakfast in general was very basic but really not an issue as there are great coffee places all over Korea.

Verified reviewThe hotel is right in the city centre. On check in the owner gave us a map and circled all the fun activities. By booking the hotel we received a discount on multiple things around the area, such as restaurants and museums. Defineatly worth it!! Free coffee, water and fruits are available all day in the hanok house. Of course in a traditional Korean house you are sleeping on the floor however this is part of the experience. The hotel rooms are not very spacious so I would reccomend staying here for shorter stays!!

Verified reviewIt was a great experience. The owner was very welcoming. The owner gave us information about touring the village and customized a list of restaurants and cafes based on our preferences. Despite the language barrier he managed to give us all the details along with a village map so we do not struggle going around the town. The house was very beautiful and well maintained.

Verified reviewThe vibe, the owner, location, humble and clean. Once we arrived the owner took upon himself to help us clean our luggage and load them into the Hanok room. He then generously spent a full hour if not longer explaining the entire map of the locations to us based on our interests and what we'd like to do during our stay. on our way later to Seoul he noticed that we hadn't booked Express train tickets and gave us a heads up which we were very grateful for we then changed direction to go to the bus station instead and he helped us load our luggage to the taxi and also communicated with the taxi driver to get us to the bus station and basically saved us a couple of hours and frustration at the train station. he was the most generous host and we enjoyed our trip so much I would love to go back again to the exact same location.
That we couldn't sleep or go upstairs :(

Verified reviewIt is right in the middle of the Hanok village which we really liked. The accommodation is really simple; a futon bed in a small room with a toilet/shower room. If you think you will struggle sleeping on the floor, then this is not a place for you. I loved the experience and had no problem sleeping on the floor. The room is kept very clean. There is a shared kitchen space with a very basic self serve breakfast (bread, jam, tomatoes). If you want something more for breakfast, I would recommend either to buy some food from the market (there is a fridge where you can keep your food) or to find a cafe which serves breakfast(they generally open after 09.00) Overall, it is a very nice experience to sleep in a traditional Hanok. I truly enjoyed it.

Verified reviewLovely hosts that took time to explain how to navigate the traditional Hanok home experience and the sights around it. It was simple but exceptionally clean and very cute. The floor heating was great. Nice escape from the big city rush too.
Nothing 😊 Come prepared to sleep on the floor though, it takes some getting used to. If you embrace the experience it is lovely staying in this Hanok for a couple of nights!
