How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. When we made the reservation, we requested a relaxing room on a high floor with a nice view of the ocean. We love the water and don't often get to see the ocean. The staff saved a room for us on the top floor with a fantastic view. The room was large and had plenty of storage/closet space. The hotel has a swimming pool and we enjoyed a couple hours relaxing and swimming. There is an additional charge to use the pool, but it is worth it if you like to swim. The hotel is close to many restaurants, coffee shops, and the outdoor market. We had a nice time walking around the market and trying different foods. We recommend you check it out during your stay.
Thank you for choosing M Stay Jeju Hotel. We will continue striving to provide comfortable and high-quality service. Thank you again.

Verified reviewThe location to the Seogyi-po port, Cheonji-yeon waterfall, and the Olle Market was walkable, and I liked the hotel location. The price was very cheap but it was still good overall.
If I'm not mistaken, there aren't rooms for the ocean view because the hotel building looks like between other buildings. The staff(a man), when I checked in, didn't even do the eye contacts while he's explaining to the regulation.. He seemed not want to work. The staff(a lady), when I checked out, was nice, though.

Verified reviewThis is my 3rd time staying here. Excellent location, within a walking distance to the major tourist spots, eateries, bus stops & supermarkets. One of the staff speaks good English. We enjoyed their daily buffet breakfast @15,000KRW

Verified reviewThe room had a nice sea view, and overall was nice. But the hotel does not provide the basic amenities like bathrobes, bath towels, toothbrush/paste, or conditioner. The room also had only 4 plug sockets all in one place, which is not convenient at all. The main downside is that the staff was not accommodating at all. We have been able to leave our luggage in all other 3 hotels before this, and usually it is not a problem in other countries as well. But the staff said we couldn’t leave our luggage (mind you we did not ask for some crazy timelines, we needed to keep the luggages until 5pm).

Verified reviewGood location, 5 mins walk to Olle market and walkable to Cheonjiyeon Falls. Room with sea view was nice too. There is a cafe and convenience store just below the hotel which was convenient.
We stayed here back in 2018 and really liked it, but since COVID it seemed to have transformed itself into a hotel to host school trips. There were so many groups of students crowding up the breakfast place and elevators. The soundproofing of rooms was also bad, we were unfortunate to be staying on the same floor with a tour group who banged on doors early in the morning and shouted loudly across rooms with their room doors open. The carpeting on the floor along the corridor was also dirty and the electric kettle was dirty and old. I don’t think this qualifies as a 4 star hotel anymore.

Verified reviewClean and comfortable.
The heated floors would turn on automatically while the air conditioner was running. We told the staff, but they dismissed it.

Verified reviewLocation was good, many good restaurants around.
The instruction to get to the car parking was unclear. The outdoor parking nearest to the hotel was full most of the times and we had to park at somewhere much further from the hotel and it was extremely inconvenient.

Verified reviewNONE! We thought there's a hotel parking garage to park our rental car. But no, we were told to park elsewhere. Luckily we were only here for one night as the other place would have been a paid parking, defeat the purpose of having a hotel parking garage. The hotel expects you to park at the paid parking for certain hours if you don't want to get charged.
1) The man who works at the hotel parking garage was nasty and should be fired. He told us to park (reversed parking) but very impatient. We can't just reverse to the parking spot as there was an older lady standing there still removing stuff from her car. The man got mad and angry and started shouting at us and even came to bang on our rental car multiple times furiously. In the end, he started to screamed and motioned us to get lost. Reported this to the hotel but they don't seem to care and only asked if the man was being rude and only indicated that they will have a word with the man. I don't think anything will happen but that overall ruined out stay in Jeju. 2) It's 2 hotel in one big buildings and could bare speak English. 3) Hotel guests just enjoy being loud and rowdy, wear their pajamas and walking around the lobby.
