How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLeaving, at least the owner tried her best to be friendly and helpful but she doesn't have much to work with.
We knew this apartment was basic but you really need to brace yourself for how basic it is. Basically three empty rooms, a few futons piled up in the corner and a homemade coffee table made from scrap wood. No chairs to sit on no kitchen table, we were told we could sit on the coffee table to watch tv. We asked for chairs and the owner gave us some from her restaurant downstairs. The three long flights of stairs are a secret until you arrive with your cases. Old food splashes on the tiles and the cook top, an old tiny piece of soap with body hair in it left on the bathroom basin to wash our hands. The building is located in the worst and filthiest street in the whole town, there are daily markets held outside where they leave fruit and vegetable scraps behind and gut fish on the footpath and gutter without cleaning up. There are stacks of polystyrene boxes used for fish covered in blood and fish residue that stink. As a result the stairwell to the apartment is constantly full of flies.

Verified reviewI was so surprised to meet a nice and quiet owner with beautiful smiling. Plus, the place had a big window and you can see the river and the market every day. If it's the weekend, you can listen to music or concerts during the night market. It's near for the hanok village, the park, the Jaman mural village, etc. I was happy to find such a great place. Thank you

Verified reviewThe staff is very responsive even though it is only thru the booking chat. I requested to change the bedsheet as I accidentally stained it. The owner changed it without extra charges.

Verified reviewKind host that greeted us and a family friendly feel to the guesthouse. The living space and kitchen were nicely set up with supplies, water, and access to a fridge.
The futons were not thick enough and the floor was hard and uncomfortable to sleep on. The bathroom and room were extremely small. There were other families that stayed there with small children. They were in the common area until about 10pm making quite a lot of noise. It's nice to be in a family friendly environment, but we would have liked a bit more peace and privacy.

Verified reviewWe had the whole place for ourselves and it was great!
The location was 15min walk to the historical village of Jeonju, however it was just beside a local street market and the waste bins were not collected for the duration of our stay and smelled badly. The owner come at any time to the premises without clear reason or warning.

Verified review- great location, near the touristic spots - very nice shared space (board- and videogames, TV kitchennette, etc.)
1) We stayed in a room called "Korean style", so it was supposed to come with a futon. But what we got was not a futon, but a slightly thicker than normal cover, about 1,5cm, laid on a hard floor (although heated). It was impossible to sleep on your side (because the hip hurt) and after sleeping all night on your back on a hard surface, you almost lose feeling in your butt. 2) Moreover, the window was not openable (even though in the photo it looks like it is - on the surface there's a traditional-looking board, but underneath it's just a plain glass window), and we weren't provided with the AC remote. So I slept badly, because the room got very stuffy. 3) The bathroom was super small, and that's saying even for Korean (small) standards. You showered standing in a cramped space between the sink, door and the WC, and additionally you had to remember to cover the door with a curtain (taking up yet some more space), because otherwise the water would leak to the room.

Verified reviewwell laid out guesthouse. nice living room and kitchen, relatively clean, easy checking in, lady is kind and welcoming.
only thing is the futon does not seem to be cleaned that you sleep on and it’s thin, so not the most comfortable sleep.

Verified reviewA very sweet guesthouse that has a traditional feel but modern comforts. The owner was lovely and waited for us to arrive in the evening to check us in. The room was a great size and offered futon and Western-style beds. The shared living area and kitchen are well-stocked and maintained. The location is good, only a 10-minute walk to the market and Hanok village.

Verified reviewThe location is great- right across the river from the traditional market and a short walk from the hannok village. The host was incredibly kind and helpful and our room was excellent! The beds were clean and comfortable, the room was spacious and pretty well soundproofed.
Not really a negative but some folks should note the guesthouse is not a hotel so the bathroom and heating are both typical of Korea (wetroom and ondol).

Verified reviewReally lovely guest house and friendly host. The communal area was light clean and spacious. The room and bathroom were minimal Korean style. There was only one other guest during our stay so the house was very quiet. Location was also a short walk from the popular tourist sights. The hostess has a small restaurant downstairs and the food was really good!
The futon beds on the floor are okay but not the most comfortable.
