We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

MalaysiaThere is a heavy smell of smoke in the room. everytime i open up the door, the smell of smoke are attacking me, it’s too strong that i feel like want to vomit a few times. it is very cold outside but the smell force me to open the window to ventilate the air. second is the floor are dusty and the bathroom’s shower head is very old. water pressure also not satisfied to me. lastly and the most important one is the The escape stairs is full of stuff and its obviously can‘t be used.
the location is near to a market, daiso, and olive young. the room is spacious enough for a person and the boss also very nice. my door can’t lock at first and he came to help immediately. but after 4days it couldn’t close up again so i tell the boss again and he is still willing to help and always show a smiley face. I think the building is upgrading because i can see the boss always working on something like change the hotel sign, changing the light at the counter, painting and else.

South AfricaHi Spoke to the owner on Monday the 7th of July via your message app & they informed me that I had to contact customer services, which I did immediately. I only received a response from booking. Com over 5 days later. I asked for a partial refund as my daughter who was supposed to stay in the accommodation from the 6th July to 15th July, had a medical emergency & had to fly home on Wednesday, do she only stayed for 3 nights. Do that is what I am asking for a partial refund. She is already back in south Africa & has not stayed in the accommodation since Wednesday the 9th July

South KoreaMany things. First of all this is not a hotel, but an hour motel. I felt scammed. This place is located above a night club and the street was very noisy at night. The room was very dirty and even after switching to different room there was an ever present of cigarettes. The cleaning was confusing - part of the room was clean and refurbished, but the other part was incredibly dirty with obvious biological remains of the previous occupants. I chose the option to pay on the spot and the owner tried to make me pay an additional fee of 5000 won, claiming they also have to pay a fee to the booking.com. I told him that there was no such information on booking.com when I chose this option and that it is considered a scam and he quickly changed his mind. Since the booking was not cancellable, I felt pressured to pay and stay. I am a solo female traveler and I felt uncomfortable and unsafe. I booked for 3 nights and stayed only for 2 because the smell and noise were unbearable.
The bedsheets were clean, that is all I can say
