How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

All the rest - worst experience ever outside Europe !! - - no breakfast available (breakfast room was reserved for indian people (discrimination)) - only breakfast available was on the 2nd floor with limited availability, no sitting place, no service, - room was not clean (bugs and dust) - room was next to elevator, i stayed in a load room next to an elevator for 6 days - at 13th floor there is a party place, on friday, saturday and sunday there are parties being held untill 02h00 night - if you do not signal, the room is not being cleaned - I requested several times to speak to manager, several times manager was unavailable ! very unprofessional - I had the impression that the hotel was run by students ! so expect no professionality at all if you stay there ! I am writing to formally complain about the numerous issues we encountered during our recent stay at Regardal hotel Al maty from the day we checked in on 29th May and checjed out 2nd June. Our experience was highly unsatisfactory, especially considering the premium rates we paid.From the very beginning, our stay was plagued with problems. Upon arriving late, we discovered that our room's main door lock and air conditioning were not functioning. Despite multiple trips to the reception, my husband was informed that these issues could not be addressed until the morning. This left us feeling unsafe and uncomfortable for the night.The next morning, the manager provided us with a master card as a temporary solution for the door lock. This is an extremely risky and unprofessional measure, as it compromises the security of all guests' belongings.Furthermore, the staff's attitude throughout our stay was rude and uncooperative. The staff's inability to speak English made communication challenging, and their body language clearly indicated their unwillingness to assist us. There was a noticeable lack of a welcoming smile or any form of basic hospitality from the staff, which is something we have never experienced in all our travels around the world.Our dissatisfaction was further compounded by the poor housekeeping services. Despite requesting room cleaning, we returned each night to find our room still dirty and uncleaned. This level of neglect is unacceptable and does not meet even the most basic standards of hospitality.Additionally, the breakfast service was appalling. Despite requesting a simple vegetarian sandwich, the staff failed to provide this, demonstrating a lack of consideration for guests' dietary needs. On the first night, my husband, who is diabetic, did not get anything to eat as he was busy going to the reception multiple times to address the door issues. This situation was extremely distressing and unacceptable.

I recently had an extremely disappointing stay at the Regardal Hotel with my 20-year-old son, and I feel compelled to share our awful experience to warn others. Firstly, the room design was highly inappropriate. There was a huge glass window in the toilet facing the room, offering no privacy whatsoever. It was extremely uncomfortable and awkward for both my son and me. The staff at this hotel were some of the rudest and most unprofessional I have ever encountered. They were negative, very impolite, and made us feel unwelcome from the moment we arrived. This level of disrespect is simply unacceptable in any hospitality setting. Breakfast was another disaster. The selection was abysmal, with hardly any food available. The boiled eggs were dry and broken, and the cheese was hard and tasteless. To make matters worse, they didn't even have coffee. It was the worst breakfast experience I have ever had in a hotel. The managers were no better. They were very impolite and tried to charge us more money at the end of our stay, which felt like a blatant attempt to take advantage of us. Their behavior was both dishonest and unprofessional. The room itself was dirty, old, and unreliable. The interior looked like it hadn't been updated or properly cleaned in years. On top of that, the room was very cold, making our stay even more uncomfortable. This is a far cry from the comfort and cleanliness one would expect from a hotel. It’s worth noting that this hotel is definitely not a 4-star establishment as advertised. In reality, it’s more of a 2-star hotel, or even less. The quality of the amenities, service, and overall experience is severely lacking. Overall, our stay at the Regardal Hotel was a nightmare. I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. There are plenty of other options that offer better service, cleaner rooms, and a more pleasant experience. This place is simply not worth your time and money
