all was good

Our second stay in PHA NYA after touring northern Laos. We were so happy to return to this beautiful heritage hotel. We even booked an extra night after our train was cancelled and were offered a special rate by the manager. Couldn't recommend highly enough. Comfortable, beautiful and very detail oriented.

The place is absolutely gorgeous. Every detail is thought through.

The common areas are somewhat small but then again you’re surrounded by many attractions and little restaurants and cafes. You will not get bored

Pha Nya Residence is in a beautifully restored heritage colonial building, right in the middle of the UNESCO old town. Every detail has been carefully considered and perfectly executed. It feels like being transported back to the golden age of travel in French Indochina. The rooms are large and well appointed, comfortable beds and nice bathroom. Very attentive and helpful staff, great breakfast options and services. Could not recommend this place any more highly, well worth the price for the comfort, luxury and beautiful setting.

Nothing! There was a temple across the road which makes some noise at 4am and 5.30 am but we didn't mind. I think it really adds to the old world charm of the hotel and the beautiful old town.

This place is a gem! The location is perfect, the building is stunningly renovated, and the staff is incredibly welcoming. Their helpfulness made us feel truly at home.

Our ground-floor room lacked a view, though I imagine other rooms facing the nearby temple offer a much better one.

The location was great. We were happy that our room was at street level, otherwise carrying a large suitcase climbing the narrow stairway would be a challenge. The breakfast was good but pricey

We had a hard time paying for the $16 balance when we were checking out. Their credit card machine failed to charge and the (local) guy at the front desk complaining our $16 cash had creases and wasn't new enough!!

Big rooms, very comfortable, great location. Guillaume helped us to plan our days in Luang Prabang.

A little bit noisy, I waked up a few times in the first night. After that I used earplugs and had good sleeping nights.

Guillaume was extremely friendly and full of useful information. It's a fantastic building, one of the most attractive in Luang Prabang, and that is saying something. Rooms were elegant, well furnished and very clean. Opposite the beautiful monastery. A cool vibe permeates the whole place.

Breakfast was quite limited compared to other places we stayed in Luang Prabang.

It is super stylish, clean and beautiful hotel! Rooms are spacious, new, and comfortable. The hotel is in the best spot to reach all atractions in Luang Prabang. Friendly and helpful staff.

We like everything.

This hotel is stunning and perfectly located in the heart of the old town. The recently renovated historic building is magnificent and the design choices complement it perfectly. The staff were very nice and helpful though some have better English than others. And the very helpful and gracious owners gave us great restaurant recommendations and tips on enjoying our visit. We enjoyed the breakfast a lot and found it worth it. The setting is beautiful and the croissants and fresh fruit are very tasty.

Only small complaint is a slight sewage smell in the bathroom - this may just be a fact of being in a historic building. Also not at all the hotel’s fault, but be aware staying in the old town is amazing but a bit noisy! Pre-dawn drumming from the temple, packs of dogs howling in the middle of the night etc. There was no restaurant/bar noise though as the hotel is away from the Main Street.

Ideal location and nice view Brilliant aircon- effective but also nice and quiet. Staff friendly after initial arrival Mosquito net around bed is handy, plenty of space in room and complimentary water. Shower, bed, cleaning all fine. Nicely decorated.

Felt the reception on arrival could have been better, didn't seem to know that they can accept visa card payment even though it's stated on the details of the place. For a moment I honestly thought I was going to be chucked out on the street - not that funny for a lone female traveller arriving to a new country late at night tbh. Have to admit it soured me a bit. Apart from that the worst thing for me was probably the noise, room is an echo chamber and amplifier for every noise inside and out, felt like there was no privacy and I was tiptoeing across the room. I'd suggest rugs or curtains/ soft furnishings to soften the sounds at least. Outside street noise was moderate, lot of dogs. No tv, or hair dryer in the room, and breakfast options limited. Personally not a fan of taking shoes off before climbing stairs to the room, though I appreciate it's a local tradition.

Hotel is gorgeous, with classic decor, polished teak flooring, and shuttered windows. The staff and owners were super helpful, and took a lot of time to help us plan our itinerary. The hotel itself is less than five minutes from the stores and restaurants of the busy area.

This former historic home, located within walking distance of virtually everything of note, has been lovingly restored into a beautiful 10 room guesthouse. Everything is spotless and tastefully decorated. There is a pergola-covered outdoor dining area where one can savor a delicious breakfast in the morning or drinks in the evening. The multilingual managers, Caroline and Guillaume, were super friendly and fountains of information on things to do and places to eat. Guillaume even walked down to the nearby riverbank to help us secure a boat ride. Can’t praise the place highly enough!

The service provided by the property was, kind and warm. We enjoyed the common outdoor area, especially in the evening. The accommodation was centrally located to most of the attractions.

Great location very close to main shopping and restaurants all walking distance. Centrally located to all the famous and historical sites. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The best was Caroline who took time to contact me before arriving offering various help and on checking in spend more than 30 minutes providing various advices on how to move about in Luang Prabang, what and where to eat. Many thanks Caroline. The highlight was the sumptuous breakfast of local and French or have both. We had our breakfast there on 3 consecutive days !!! Definitely value for money, Will come again when next in LP.

Beautiful heritage building, beautiful decor. Central to a lot of things, so easy to walk to sights. Breakfast was very fresh and tasty. Very helpful staff.

this property was excellent. The design of the rooms, breakfast, location and the helpfulness of staff could not have been better. it was in a very attractive setting on a quiet road opposite a temple and very central. breakfast was superb and fresh. The staff were very helpful with good suggestions for activities and places to eat. could not have been better.
