Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomDinner menu at restaurant not very adventurous so ate elsewhere. Tiny inadequate packets of shower gel and shampoo not good.
Floating studio iron Mekong was lovely with balcony on the water! Great views for sunrise and sunset. Large shower room with good water pressure. Lovely clean swimming pool and gardens. Good varied breakfast. Rented bikes to explore islands. Owner helpful if needed to book trips etc.

CanadaAs it is in Lao, some things at the hotel or in the room just don’t work perfectly as they should, but they were addressed and fixed quickly. Staff are great to deal with though and want their customers to go home happy.
The view of the river life from your floating room porch every morning and also at sunset is worth the stay. The room is comfortable, beddings and the bed work well for 2-3 in the room. Location is central near the port dock for the ferry bus.

GermanyBungalow could need a proper cleaning, esp. bathroom shower and better maintenance. Room is pricey for the status it is in.

United KingdomRoom a little tired (banlao classic) and shower a bit weak. Not enough loungers by the pool at the moment for the number of rooms though this should improve next year. The old fashioned hotplate for toasting the bread at breakfast was really slow so needs improving.
Great location by the Mekong in the main village in Don Khone with a lovely view of the river and French bridge from the breakfast/dining area. Friendly staff. Good view from the pool too, and a larger pool is being built.

United KingdomBreakfast was basic and uninspiring. On the basis of what we saw at breakfast we didn’t eat there in the evening. The pools were not somewhere we would chose to relax. Suggest you head to a ‘beach’. If you are below 30 I suggest you stay on Don Det which is far livelier
Beds were comfortable and a nice toilet and shower. We had free bikes for three days and they were essential for getting around both islands Friendly staff It was advertised as 2* and it was but wasn’t cheap

GermanyFacilities weren't too clean, e.g. the pool, the restaurant's toilet. Staff cleaned our room every day but didn't change the towels (we stayed 5 nights). Breakfast was fine, but exactly the same selection for 5 mornings and no soup available.
We loved the location and the chilled athmosphere. Staff helped us arranging airport transfer and sunset cruise. Food is tasty. We were provided with a spacious and very quiet room.

SpainThe rooms have some flaws such as the wooden floor raised in some corners or the door that opens by itself if you don't have the latch on, but nothing remarkable that doesn't allow you to fully enjoy this fantastic place :)
These islands are paradise and the Sala Done Khone Hotel is the perfect place to stay. Beautiful, very intimate and beautiful pools. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

SwitzerlandExpensive for what it is (50usd the night), with an overrated exchange rate if you pay in kip (all hostels do this though...). The tickets to get back to the mainland are also sold 20% more expensive than what was proposed down the road, beware of this.
Good location. We had a studio by the water, the place was clean and spacious. Breakfast was good. The swimming pool was nice too, despite having a greenish color which makes it look "natural"; I guess we aren't used to not having the smell of chlorine in a swimming pool

Really lovely, quiet hotel, overlooking the river. The staff were exceptionally lovely - Mr Katai and his wife, and Mr Kai couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful. The heritage room was really nice, if a little dark. The food was fabulous and sitting overlooking the river was wonderful.
