How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe room is spacious and clean. Toilet is roomy. Staff very friendly and helpful. It's worth checking their shuttle fees as they seamed quite competitive to me.
It's a bit far from the city centre if you don't have a car but perfectly walkable in the daylight. If you have a light sleep be aware there's a dog barking quite frequently. I didn't have any problems.

Verified reviewThere was no signboard on the road to indicate the location of the place, I had to use someone's help to make a phone call to the owner. The place had no name displayed anywhere. Two bad dogs were barking every time I came in or out of the room. The room was small, dark, at the back of the house, with window and door covered by a curtain so no outside light would come in. The woman expected payment right upon arrival. There was a washing machine noise coming from upstairs. I felt like in a rat hole. Too expensive for what it was...
From the onset the guest appeared very grumpy and a bit difficult to please. Yes, I don't have a sign (noted). I operate a small B&B from my home for the past 6 years and haven't had any complaints of this magnitude for lack or want of a sign on the property. It is customery that guests call prior to leaving the port of arrival for directions and this has not been a major issue. There is also a Google Map pin of my location for guests to follow. My dogs are not bad dogs, they are indoor pets and can be a bit boitrious at times when guests manuoever on the property. Additionally they are a part of our security alert system. Payment on arrival especially for first time guests is mandotary as this is the industry standard. As for the room it's a nice small cozy space at an affordable price and has all the amenities required for a comfortable stay such as AC, internet TV, clean linen and towels, bath soap, hot & cold water, mini fridge, kettle and toaster oven; also coffee/cocoa & sugar if you want a hot beverage on arrival (for only US$39 per night).

Verified reviewThe owner was very helpful and friendly. She kindly provided me with some food at no cost after two horrendous flights from the US (Americans do not provide any food on flights, except a biscuit, not good for those who do not eat sugary stuff)
The location was on the main road, quite a way from Rodney Bay. Traffic and no walking path made it hazardous.

Location - a good kilometer outside Rodney Bay via busy roads difficult to navigate as a pedestrian. Also, dog right outside suite was inclined to bark at any time, day or night.

Before arriving I was texting with Veronique Foster. She mentioned that her husband could pick me up from the airport for $30 less than the taxi drivers at the airport. I accepted; got to the airport and waited for her husband to arrive since he was running late. I decided to take some pictures and videos at the beach next to the airport while I waited. Her husband then arrived and said hey are you Angel? Let’s go, in a very rude tone since he was on the phone with someone. I felt so unwelcomed from the beginning. He offered to drive me to a beach for a fee; and since I only had one day to explore the island I accepted. He dropped me off and picked me up; but ran 2 errands before dropping me back off to the same place he lives (Carefee Suites). Once we were back, him and his wife were talking to me and complaining about other guests being “cheap” for not wanting to use them as pickup/drop off drivers. I felt that was very inappropriate to comment about other guests to me (a guest as well). Then I went back to my room and the toilet wouldn’t flush; went to talk to them and they told me they had issues with their water 🤦♂️ they never mentioned anything prior to my arrival. I had to use pots to gather water from the sink to pour down the toilet to get it to flush. The next morning I checked out and since I was not able to find other means of transportation back to the airport, I had Veronique’s Husand drive me to the airport (charged me again) but we ran late because he made several stops to drop off food (I’m assuming they cook food and sell it w/Delivery). I think moving forward they need to communicate to their guest any issues they currently have in their suites and also if they are going to make other stops along the way to do their errands/other businesses. It’s very inconsiderate of the guests time.
I am very surprised after reading this review. I would like to mention that apart from picking up guests we also ask them whether they would like to stop to get something to eat or stop at the supermarket all this is part of our service. Why would he say we dropped him and he had to pay( why not, that's a service we provide). Yes I am sure that my husband mentioned that he had to make a stop to drop off food for someone. I don't think that this is unreasonable for anyone with a fraction of understanding. Angel's phone got damaged at the beach and we didn't hear from him to pick him up so my husband decided to drive to the beach to see if he gets him, since he didn't call us. He was so grateful that my husband took the initiative to come as he couldn't remember our address or number to call us. The part with the toilet was a one off situation which we have resolved, my apologies for the inconvenience but these things do happen. Hiw can I tell you about something before hand that I am not aware will happen. We are not harsh people as he want to portray us to be and we value our guests and the service we provide. I am very sure that I can get many guests who have stayed with us to testify of our good service and hospitality to them. I am still very shocked by his review as he was so nice and understanding when we conversed with him the evening upon pickup at the beach. He even shared some dreadful incident he experienced in Jamaica to justify us saying that guests should be careful when coming to a place especially if they are alone or not familiar with the place. just making some small talk. We don't force anything on anyone we are just here to do our best. if we made his stay an unpleasant one the that was really not our intention. I do feel he is being a bit dramatic. But I guess you win some and lose some. NB: on the day of pickup at the airport there was a bit of a delay due to traffic caused by a minor accident which got my husband a bit frustrated as he hates being late but if appeared rude my apologies. Also note that we gave Angel an upgraded room which had a full kitchen and was very spacious at no additional cost as the guests in the room he paid for decided to extend their stay which was no false of his.

Verified reviewGreat location. Decent driving proximity to Rodney Bay. Away from busy streets, quiet area with a lovely spot to relax in the front. Clean. Nicely furnished. Kind host.
Some of the accent curtains were a bit transparent. I felt that if I could see people pass so clearly through them then so could someone on the outside, especially if the light is on at night. There was no incident but it was my main concern. Also, the bath towels were a little small.

Verified reviewGreat communication, since the location is a bit tricky to find on your own. But with the help of the friendly owner, it went very smooth. It is an easy 15 min walk to Rodney bay where there is a large supermarket and loads of restaurants.
