How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe view was absolutely amazing. I could go and sit on the porch and watch the sea for hours. The host was a gem, very hard working and catered to my simples requests which made this guest house stand out. I would definitely return 100%

Verified reviewA nice guesthouse on top of a hill with a lovely view of Castries. The host is friendly and offers airport pick-up for XCD50 and drop-off at the ferry terminal for another XCD50. The room is clean, quiet, and comes with a fan; if you want air conditioning, it’s an extra XCD60 for a two-night stay.
The only real challenge is transportation as it is located uphill. I tried to use a public bus on a Friday evening, but after waiting more than 30 minutes without luck, I ended up taking a taxi back for XCD25. If you plan to move around a lot, factor in the transport costs...or hike up in 40 minutes to an hour.. Otherwise, it's a pleasant and decent place to stay.

Verified reviewAnne the owner was super helpful. Picked us up from George F.L. Charles airport. Stopped at the supermarket so we could get food (there are no restaurants near her place). Took us to the ferry very early in the morning.
Noisy dogs would disturb some people. Shared kitchen was fine because the folk we shared with were nice but might not always be the case.

- 40 min uphill walk - wrong address - unresponsive host - wrong address - far from everything - street dogs will attack you, so take taxi - owner's dogs kept in cage (which is super unethical) will bark at any noise 34/7 - cars will make noise - owner is loud and will make noise - my room was next to the loundry, so I'd be up at 7 o'clock every morning. NOISE again - no A/C
The customer visited on the 28th December 2024 for 3 nights. I saw a last minute booking online and hurriedly began preparing for the customer. The customer arrived not too long after. I offered him a beer and asked him to wait a few minutes. He was asked to come to the apartment. . I explained to him everything. I told him he needed to pay 20usd for the air condition (3 nights) as the air condition was a separate charge.(stated on website) or he can use the fan. (which I fine is very reasonable) We get a lot of cold breeze from here because of the time of year and our location. Most customers have had to use blankets. He opted to use the fan. He further told me that he wanted to go to the city. I told him it was dark and it was not advisable to walk down. I further stated that persons would caution you because are a visitor. The property is located 5 -7 minutes drive and 15 mins walk to the city. The gentleman may have taken the longer route walking to the property as he is a backpacker. (He walks to every destination except to the very distant ones like Soufriere where he must use the public transportation. (please note in my area there is public transportation). I drove him to the city free of charge and told him to take a taxi up which he never did he walked up. Most times when I explained the way he can do things he looked at me like I was being ridiculous. He took some of my advice. The day before he left he came outside with a bag of clothes and asked me to wash for him because he was going to the west of the island. I did put in the machine and opened on the rack. If this traveler chose to walk to most destinations sometimes in the evening he cannot blame me for dogs barking at him. I have never known myself to be a loud person, this is certainly news to me. You cannot tell me how to house my pets they are all enclosed in a kennel not to be seen by anyone. Your room was not close to a laundry. You called the company to say you never stayed on property because you could not find the place. (This was an untruth) It was a pleasure hosting you. We strive to provide excellent service to all customers. We listen to you attentively and do not take negative feedback lightly. Thank you for staying with us!
