How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewSome staff are great! Good size rooms
Overpriced. This hotel is not on the same level as 4* resorts on the island. As others mention, it lacks facilities, staff services, security, entertainment, access to beaches and other attractions etc compared with similarly priced resorts. It's OK to offer this sort of rural basic hotel, but should be priced accordingly.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. For the sake of clarity for future guests, we’d like to address a few important points. At the time of booking, only the required deposit was paid. The remaining balance was not settled prior to arrival, citing issues with your credit card provider. Despite this, we allowed you to check in as a courtesy and held your room in good faith. Tet Rouge is a boutique property designed for travellers seeking a serene, authentic escape—different from the larger, commercial 4-star resorts. We offer 24-hour security, an on-site guest services manager, and a complimentary shuttle to the nearby Anse L’Ivrogne Beach. You had a rental car and chose to explore independently, so no request was made for transfers. Sugar Beach is just a 7-minute drive from us to their back entrance. While we understand our remote, peaceful setting may not suit every traveller, many guests appreciate the unique experience we provide. Unfortunately, you chose to leave shortly after checking in, without experiencing much of what we offer. We wish you all the best in your future travels and appreciate the opportunity to clarify these details.

Verified reviewGlobally it's nice but too expensive
They don't propose any water when you arrive but they already printed a bill and they ask directly to charge your credit card for all nights . No need to reserve in advance. Many rooms were empty. We were only 2 guests!!!. In fact, he hotel is too expensive. Also, the breakfast is very basic.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not fully meet your expectations, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify a few details. As part of our welcome amenities, we offer a complimentary 1.5L bottle of water in the room on the first day of arrival. In accordance with our hotel policy, the balance of the stay is required to be settled upon check-in, regardless of the number of guests on the property. This is a standard procedure applied to all bookings. Our complimentary breakfast includes organic eggs cooked to order, fresh local vegetables, homemade jam and butter, seasonal juice, coffee or tea, or cereals — all thoughtfully prepared using locally sourced ingredients. As we are a small boutique hotel with limited rooms, we do recommend booking in advance to ensure availability and a smooth check-in experience. We truly value your feedback and will continue to work on improving our services. Thank you again for staying with us, and we wish you all the best in your future travels.

Verified reviewThe property is nice. The rooms were amazing. This is not a great place for solo travelers. It is literally in the middle of nowhere. There is no place to walk to. You are kinda held hostage. So you are kinda forced to eat there food. Or you could take a 30$ taxi to take u to a restaurant or grocery. You also have to eat at certain times and pre-order your food. I never know what I will want to eat 7 hrs later or if I will be hungry.
Thank you for your feedback and for highlighting how much you enjoyed the rooms and property. We’d like to clarify that our boutique hotel is located in a peaceful, natural setting just a short walk from the Gros Piton hike and Anse L’Ivrogne beach. We’re also a 7-minute drive to the back entrance of Sugar Beach and 20 minutes from popular restaurants like Dasheen and Hotel Chocolat. All taxis on the island operate under standard local rates, and transfers are handled directly by certified drivers—not by the hotel. Our small restaurant is available for guests who prefer not to drive out, and we always prioritize in-house guests with reserved tables. We ask for pre-orders to ensure fresh, made-to-order meals and minimize food waste. We appreciate your comments and are happy you enjoyed aspects of your stay.

Verified reviewThe staff make this property special! They are very attentive & care for you well! The accommodations are clean & comfortable. Favorite is the outdoor shower surrounded by rich foliage & lots of hummingbirds. It is a quiet resort with only 6 rooms with a lovely view from the infinity pool, swim up bar & the sea view villas. A car is helpful as it’s a drive to a beach. Hiring a driver is possible but becomes expensive if you desire to go to beaches, restaurants or sights. The outdoor restaurant, onsite serves delicious food. It’s perfect if you’re looking for some rest & relaxation!
The villas could use some sprucing up as are a bit tired. It is an eco friendly resort so the setting is rich. The hammocks on the porches are a bit scary as to whether they will support you.

Verified reviewQuiet location, just six rooms, bedroom, pool, bar, garden.
The hotel is great but slightly let down by the staff, including the general manager’s attitude when we asked for a simple request. One was great but other staff not so customer focussed. Other small improvements would be not to run out of basics such as tea bags and juice, to provide nibbles etc at the bar to complement their great cocktail list, biscuits, cake or other small snacks should be available. These should be complimentary considering the price of the stay. The menu could also do with changing at least weekly. We stayed three nights but anything more and the menu is limited. They often didn’t have many things available off the menu. All small details but a 4 star hotel should have these sorted!

Verified reviewThe service from Garvy’s team was amazing. My wife and I felt like we were the only people there. Just lovely people who just wanted to make sure that we enjoyed our stay which is exactly what we did. We would come back again.

Verified reviewDespite being a bit old/outdated it was extremely clean, with well maintained gardens, so lush and green. The staff were absolutely amazing! So kind and helpful. The food was great.
The pictures on the site are outdated. It’s beautiful but a lot more over grown. Most rooms have an ocean view past the lush garden, Gros Piton is basically behind the property. Only the villas have a pool with the room, all other rooms do not, which is fine the pool is nice I just wasn’t clear on this from the website picture. Due to hurricane Beryl and I would assume the over grown foliage it isn’t possible to access a beach by foot. Needs to be updated, nothing major just small updates like replacing the rusty refrigerator, old stainless sink, permanently molded/rust in shower, and definitely add ventilation to the bath room. It’s a bit off the beaten path which was fine for us but if you aren’t comfortable driving on the left side of very narrow and windy roads or pay at least $60 for a taxi you may want to look elsewhere.

Verified reviewBeautiful property, and exceptional staff. Food was good. We enjoyed the infinity pool and the small swim up bar and dining area. Breakfast, for the price of the stay is quite minimal but nice- egg or cereal. Comes with a few fruits. One of the mornings the staff accommodated a local breakfast which was nice. The menu for entrees and apps was excellent. We tried almost every major item. Desserts were ok.
Some of the small details are a touch amiss for the cost. For example during daily cleaning things aren’t properly replaced or replenished (had to keep asking). Some of the property feels a bit outdated and due for some upgrades. For example the fridge in our unit looked dirty and worn out. Taxi service anywhere from here, if arranged by hotel is insanely expensive. It costs $70 USD (round trip) to go to the nearby Sugar Beach resort.

Verified reviewBreakfast was delightful in the outdoor restaurant; staff was friendly and professional; manager Garvin is exceptional! Extremely helpful, responsive, warm and professional.
The beds were quite hard for us but I realize that's a personal preference; there's a lovely kitchen but no pots nor flatware available - shelves were all empty. We only wanted to use the stove for dinner prep once and but ended up getting food to go so we did not request kitchenware - I'm sure it would have been forthcoming if we had asked. However, if you advertise a kitchen, probably wise to include the necessities to use it.

Verified reviewThe suites were huge and the photos really don’t do it justice! Each suite had its own balcony with a table and chairs and a hammock. The suite also had a kitchen and refrigerator, a large closet, and both an indoor and outdoor shower. We loved that the layout was like a loft with a small set of stairs leading to the upper area. The property had so many beautiful plants and trees and little lights in the evening. There was even a pond with frogs. It felt really homey and the pool was gorgeous with a swim-up bar. The view of the ocean from our suite and from the pool were breathtaking! The hotel employees were all really kind and welcoming; they were really accommodating to all of the guests’ needs. They set up chair covers for us to lounge on at the pool as well as towels. I accidentally got one of our car’s wheels stuck in a ditch, and Mike somehow noticed that we were stuck (even though we were already outside of the resort) and used a few stones as leverage to get our car unstuck. A really wonderful experience and we were so sad to leave at the end of our trip.

Verified reviewThe staff was extremely pleasant and accommodating. For example, we had special dietary needs and the staff met them. Planning daily activities was made easy by the helpful staff. Our room was spacious and the natural lighting and spectacular views of the sea and the Pitons greatly enhanced the ambiance.
The facilities, such as the showers can benefit from an upgrade.

Verified reviewFood is expensive but good. Infinity pool is nice.
A housekeeper come knot on the door 30 minutes before the check out time to tell us “it’s time to go.” Very unprofessional and rude. This never happened to us before. Most of the staff however are nice. Beware the location is very isolated. Our drive to find Tet Rouge was an adventure and scary at times because of the terrible road condition.
