The owners are so sweet and welcoming! The breakfast was delicious (and we tried a St-Lucian breakfast!), same as dinner. Comfortable bed. Nice view from the balcony with a nice breeze. Very clean. You need a car to get there and visit around. Thank you again!

Was surprised that there was no airconditioning, but because of the homes perch high on the hillside, the room had constant breezes keeping us very comfortable. (so not really a negative, just info for those who absolutely need AC.

Stay here if you are looking for off-the-beaten path accomodations, a cultural exprience and amazing hosts, Ellen & John. They made us feel right at home in their beautiful home on a hill side with views of the dramatic Fond Bay. It litterally feels like your the only place in this hidden gem of an area. If you want to be right in the action of tourists and night-lifers this may not be the spot for you. One the otherhand, it was the perfect location to go on day trips and return to a very comfortable inviting place/family. The Pitons are about an hour drive as well as Castries and Rodney Bay and if your into nature and hiking, there is plenty to do right in the local area. Nicki, Ellen's daughter, was kind enough to bring us to an amazing the "majestic uncharted" Sault River waterfalls.

Perhaps I am spoiled here in the states with air conditioning. But air conditioning was advertised for the stay, however it was not available in the room, St Lucia happens to be very windy, which is good because it ends up keeping you cool, fan over bed was also nice.

There is nothing we did not like but guests needs to be aware that the location is off the beaten track. Great for us.

The hosts were amazing.They could not have made us more welcomed if they tried, nothing was too much trouble. Whilst the location was exceptional you will need transportation. We are hoping to return in due course.. Word of warning if you play dominoes look out John is far more adept than he makes out. We truly loved every aspect of our time there. Beads were hard and no air conditioning. Might be ok if the rooms were facing a different side of the house because there is a very strong breeze on this side of the island.

Close to the airport when our flight was canceled. Hosts were super kind and accommodating for our last minute stay (make sure to call ahead if booking online). Great homemade breakfast provided!

We spent a lot of time on the balcony in the evenings. The balcony furniture could use an upgrade. The plastic folding chairs are uncomfortable.

The hosts are wonderful and helpful in every way. Breakfast was great. Views from our bedroom balcony were incredible and loved the breeze. Short drive to the airport, Lattile Falls and Sandy beach.

Difficult to locate on the first night

This property is in an EXCELLENT location. It is a little difficult to find but as a SUPERB view from a hill with gentle breezes. The hosts could not have been more welcoming and we had an EXCELLENT evening meal. The property offers very convenient accommodation near the airport for International Flights

The lack of restaurants in town. Place was more local, not touristy. Wished we would known to stop earlier to eat or to see if hostess could provide dinner - she said she would if she had enough notice. Would have been worthwhile if her dinner meals are as good as her breakfasts!

Hello , I had a terrible experience with the owners of property. First the bed and breakfast is hard to find and incredibly hard to drive to . The hills are so high that we could not get our suitcases because of the hill and the stairs . Her husband stayed seated in his chair at his desk looking at 2 women carrying heavy suitcases . He did not move one finger . No elevators and no help besides the owner daughter who was there . Plus when we arrived the owner asked us why did you booked 3 days before coming … which was a strange question. If they did not want someone coming to their bed and breakfast they should have told us . Then she said that in the morning we need to give her a time for the breakfast because she has a doctor’s appointment. She made us pay 2 sandwiches and 2 bottle of water 20 dollars extra . She also makes us pay the drive to the airport with their car 35 US dollars instead of calling a cab . Plus when I asked for extra coffee , it’s sounds as she was did not want to make more . We ended up up paying 147 dollars plus 20 dollars for sandwiches plus 35 dollars for a taxi ride which was her own car . We will never go back to Zamaca hotel .

Nothing we disliked at all. It's easier staying here if you have a car as it is out of the way, but we were fine and Ellen had a reliable taxi service she arranged for us.

We liked everything about this place. Zamaca is far enough out of Micoud to feel remote, with amazing views from our room overlooking Fond Bay and the rainforest and valley, and very peaceful. Also no mosquitoes!! John and Ellen are lovely hosts and were so helpful! E.g. giving us a packed lunch to take down to the beach and getting a neighbour to give us a lift down to Sandy beach. Breakfast was great and Ellen also did 2 evening meals which were outstanding. It made our time here so special. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and felt sad to leave such a wonderful and unique place. We would love to return here and see our hosts again.

Wonderful traditional bed-and-breakfast, run by a lovely couple, located on a tranquil hillside on the less-touristy side of the island. My room was super comfortable and came with a huge private terrace that offered great views of the beach and ocean. The hosts' hospitality is truly unsurpassed.

I booked late on a Monday evening following flight cancellation and received confirmation of the booking. However, the property was difficult to find and when we arrived (by taxi) the gates were all chained and locked shut and it appeared that no-one was there. There was no reply on the given telephone number (just an ansaphone). Therefore, we were effectively stranded....saved only by the fact that our taxi driver stayed whilst we tried to gain access/make contact with someone. We had to abort and were extremely fortunate to find someone at the north of the island (1.5 hours drive) who could put us up for the night in their private home. Totally unacceptable.

While my stay at Zamaca in St. Lucia was perfect in many ways, I would highly recommend considering renting a car if you wish to explore areas beyond the property. Although the stunning views and welcoming atmosphere at Zamaca are hard to leave behind, having a car would provide the freedom and convenience to venture out and discover other attractions on the island. St. Lucia has so much to offer, and having your own transportation would ensure that you can fully immerse yourself in all the beauty and experiences this wonderful destination has to offer.
