I booked for 2 nights initially but just couldn't leave this place and extended for 2 more nights. Ruwan (Owner) is very helpful and friendly. He will recommend you the best places around and will help you with anything that you need to have a fun/comfortable stay! The property is also super close to the beach so it's very comfortable to access the beach and some good restaurants nearby! Visiting again soon!

Little Bay is in a great location close to the beach and many nice restaurants and bars, but in a serene spot with no noise. Very peaceful as soon as you enter the hostel and a cool outdoor area. The rooms and bathrooms are a really good size and have everything you need. The owner and the staff are really kind and friendly and went out of their way to make my stay a great experience. Would recommend for anyone in Arugam Bay!

We had a lovely stay at ruwans. The rooms are nice, the beds comfortable and you will find everything you need. The location is great, you’re just some steps away from the beach and the main road. Ruwan is a lovely host who made us feel welcome. He also invited us to several excursions like car rides and a bicycle trip, where we got to see elephants, crocodiles and many birds. Thanks for having us! We would love to come back

Perfect location, super chill owner and because the dorm is divided by a wall it almost feels private. You share the bathroom with only 1 other person cause there are 2 in the dorm. Definitely a perfect place to meet other people and chill in Arugam Bay :)

The hostel is located a few meters from the bay, you can go barefoot for a swim or to surf to main point from there!! As well as walking distance from all cafes and restaurants, and 1min walk to the supermarket. There is a shared kitchen with a fridge and everything you need to cook simple meals. There is also an outside area to eat, chill, do yoga, or whatever you feel... I stayed in the dorm, which has 4 beds, although separated by a wall so it seems that it's a two person dorm, and two toilets. The place offers a great homely atmosphere, Rowan makes a great effort to make everyone feel part of the Little Bay family. I have extended my stay way longer than expected and that seems to be the trend in this place. Thank you 🧡

It is super peaceful but very close to both the beach and the main road, the area is full of greenery and cozy, Ruwan welcoming and super friendly. So you feel really good and almost at home there. Great for solo travellers.

We had a very welcome reception. The owner is very helpful and has lots of greats advice. He helped us with everything we wanted to do and showed us elephants on our first night. We also fell in love with his 2 dogs (mom and son). Room was everything we needed. Finally a bathroom that didn't stay wet! Bed was also very comfortable. And the location is awesome. So close to the beach!

It was a peculiar and memorable experience. Ruha is an amazing host, he is funny and always at disposal. He really knows about the natural environment around Arugam bay and will most likely bring you along to explore the less known areas. The place is nice and essential, reminds of an indigenous house, all made with natural materials, but with all the essential tools that you need in a place like that, we really recommend it. Location is amazing, few minutes to the main point, close to the main street but nice and quiet place. Ruwan is funny guy, and he welcomed me like at home! He could took us to the safari tour, was great experience to see wildlife! Dormitory is 4 beds and has 2 bathrooms - really nice and peaceful. The host, Ruan, is what makes this stay extra special. He goes out of his way to make you feel welcome and at home, whether it’s his great stories or fun trips he really makes time for his guests. Make sure to ask him for restaurant recommendations too - he really knows his stuff!

This hostel is a very special place! I stayed there three times on my trip through Sri Lanka and each time it felt like coming home. The hostel has a great location and the room is quiet, which is really nice. There are only four beds and two bathrooms in the dorm, which is big advantage. There is a shared kitchen and a cozy courtyard. The host Ruwan is a great guy and helped me out of a jam more than once. I was able to learn a lot from him about Sri Lanka but also about life. This hostel is especially great if you plan on staying a little longer and want to really unwind. I am very grateful for the time I had here.

Little Bay is the best place to stay in arugam bay. Ruwan is the best host, you can ask for. He made our staying super special, by just being himself, taking us to little Safari and other places, explained us a lot about life in Sri Lanka and made us feel home. The cabanas have a everything you need and its located perfectly. The place is super beautiful, you have a little garden and patio. So a good place to enjoy and relax.The beach ist just 2 minutes away, next door is nice coffee place with great coffee and food and the main road with all the shops is also super close. I stayed for two weeks in total and had the best time in sri lanka. The host Ruwan is amazing and makes this place special. He took us on a drive to see elephants and the sunset, knows where to get the best food and helps if there are any problems. Miss my little bay family and wish I could have stayed longer! The property is a good place to stay. The hostel is big, and we are just four people in a 2-bedroom style accommodation. It is very close to the beach and the main street. The owner is great; he also takes us to places where we can see elephants, alligators, and some farm animals. I wish I could stay here longer.

Rowan the host is an amazing guy. I stayed for 5 weeks. Laughs, good meals, good friends, he has been doing nature documentarys for a long time and we went on a couple of drives to see the Nature and beaches. If you are staying for a week or longer, this is the place. I will be back, thank you Rowan!

Everything about the hostel was perfect from the cozy vibe to the layout of the dorm rooms and the attentiveness of Ruan (the host) in ensuring my time in Arum Bay was absolutely perfect. Staying at Little Bay with Ruan was hands down the best part of my time in Sri Lanka. We received amazing insight into Sri Lanka and the local area. He is incredibly knowledgeable and helped us find our way around Waking up each morning, we were greeted with beautiful pink blossoms and fresh morning air. Just down the road is a great breakfast place, which gave us a lovely morning routine The hostel is just seconds from the beach, as well as being right in the centre of town, giving you access to everything Despite being so central, the property is quiet and feels like you are not right in the thick of it all. The dorm rooms have one fan per bed and the bathrooms are clean and have awesome water pressure. There is a kitchen you can cook in and a nice chill out spot with a fan and comfy chairs I enjoyed my stay so much that after going to visit the south, I went back to stay again. I would be surprised if I don’t find myself back again in the future. You will only regret not staying here sooner.
