Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyThe tent was old and torn in few places.
The staff was super! Very kind and helpful in anything. The food at dinner was excellent, we really enjoyed it especially the whole setting around the campfire. A truly wild experience.

United KingdomA comfortable tent set in bush away from everything. Very private and surrounded by nature. Not glamping but with own flush toilet and outdoor shower. Lovely rustic balcony to sit and read. The host arranged transfers to and from the camp as well as a full day safari. Good, home cooked meals and friendly considerate staff.

United KingdomThe road to the camp is very rough so a bit of a bumpy ride in.
Remote location puts you in a wild place, saw many birds, frogs, bats in the camp. Tent was well comfortable, nice shared area to sit out. All the meals were excellent.

Very comfortable bed in a large tent in a private setting, outdoor ensuite toilet and shower, dinner arranged by the fire and under the stars, and an completely enjoyable afternoon safari with a knowledgeable biologist who loved to answer all our questions.

SpainThat was one of the best experiences we had in Sri Lanka. Just staying here in contact with nature was amazing. The tent has also all the facilites you need. Nilantha the owner is such a great man, we hired him for a safari tour and it's the best guide you can get. He is knowladgeable about the forest and the animals, and we couldn't ask for better. Also the dinner under the stars was amazing. Breakfast was also very good. I think you shouldn't even think twice and staying here is a must for your trip to Sri Lanka.

ItalyFor what it offers in terms of services and facilities, the price is eccessive compared to other places in Sri Lanka, but also to similar places in Europe. To like it you need to be very adventurous. The toilet is in open nature, the room is not very clean, and you need to be prepared to a lot of insects and mosquitos. To be honest, the pictures and the reality do not really correspond. One last small thing, they asked us if we wanted beer, we kindly refused, then at dinner they brought us beer without us asking it, and then they made us pay them.
The idea of the tent with a bed is really nice, as it is the dinner “under the stars”. The staff was very kind and helpful, and the Safari experience organized with them was beautiful.

AustraliaThe bathroom wasn’t clean and being an outdoor area really needs to be cleaned daily. The mosquito netting was torn in places and mosquitoes could get in. The meals were not worth the money paid. They were cold particularly the kottu roti
Loved that it is trying to be sustainable. Nilantha and driver Romesh were incredible at spotting animals and making our safari a first class experience. Nilantha has a wealth of knowledge about the wild animals of Sri Lanka

United KingdomNilanthal and Elizabeth are amazing hosts. They are very knowledgeable safari guides. We had an amazing half day safari with Elizabeth where we had a very close encounter with a leopard, it was truly amazing. They are very passionate about the area and the wildlife. The tents are very comfortable and the evening dinner around the campfire under the stars was incredible.

Nilantha wpis an amazing guide and it was the main reason we booked his accomodation. I can reccomend to anyone to book a safari tour with him as a guide. He was very insightful, has a lot of knowledge of animals and nature in general. Has degree in biology and published various papers. Smart guy. The accomodation was a fun and unique experience.

New ZealandWe loved the entire experience of being looked after by the owner Nilantha and Elizabeth and all the staff in such a lovely way but also being in such a simple and authentic environment. The dinner under the stars was standout. The food was great. The great conversations were so wonderful. The whole day safari was something we will always remember. So much care and passion from Nilantha and our driver. We absolutely loved it.

GermanyHigher price compare to other places we stayed
First ask yourself what is the reason you want to be here - if you are here for the nature alone, Nilantha is the best person you can stay with and who you SHOULD take as a guide with you to the safari. He has a degree in biology , fluent English and knows so much about the local fauna and flora so a full day safari doesn’t get boring (which I can imagine can if you only take a driver with you). He is a true believer in ecotourism and is giving back to local communities. If you are here for a fancy dinner and facilities, go somewhere else. This is a simple stay in the jungle. And one more thing to add - your guide is not responsible for how many animals you’ll see BUT we were lucky and he for sure knows some spots where they MIGHT appear. And last but not least- Nilantha is a great and nice person we had a chance to meet :)
