Awesome view!! Get an upstairs room and watch the view change like a Tv Show. Very Helpful host. No aircon but no problem high in. Mountains. Very easy walk into town. Tasty breakfast at the homestay

We had such a wonderful stay at Blue Ribbon. The room was incredibly comfortable, we had everything we needed. But mostly the view was STUNNING! even better than the photos on the website captured. Staff were also super friendly and we had a delicious breakfast on the morning. Thank you!

Only downside was there wasn’t hot water in the shower.

Property was great with amazing views in a very peaceful environment. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and hosts were so kind and helpful. Comfortable with everything we needed. Easy 5min walk along the train tracks to town.

We had an amazing stay at Blue Ribbon and would highly recommend! Excellent comfortable and clean rooms, with the most gorgeous view and delicious breakfast! It’s up a hill with view of waterfalls etc, and only a quick walk down to the main street in Ella with loads of restaurants. The perfect spot to explore Ella in a serene location! The family who run it are lovely and made our stay extra special. They offer a great laundry service and as said a truly great breakfast!

Really nice location, kind owner and beautiful view from the balcony room. We were welcomed with coffee and tea. The room is good, airco is not necessary here, the fan is fine. There is a fridge and we could wash our clothes. Only the shower is a bit medium, low pressure. You can easily walk everywhere.

I was expecting a view from the property, unfortunately our room was on the ground floor and we did not have access to the balcony of the second floor. Maybe I should have paid more attention to the description of the room I selected? If you want a view make sure it specifies that it is on the second floor.

Seamless check-in and check-out. Although there is no air conditioning the fan provided was quite strong. As my mother and I wanted to hike a portion of the Pekoe Trail, the owner kindly accepted to keep our bags for a few days and transfer them to a driver who would bring them to us at the end of the hike.

Beautiful view at the mountains, not very far from the city center. Good breakfast and it is possible to ask for laundry. WiFi works well. The owner was nice and helpful. We had very relaxing stay.

The fridge in the room didnt work as the plug didn't fit the socket.

Incredibly comfortable bed, the matress and pillows were sublime. Wonderful and filling breakfast view amazing views of the hills and waterfall. The tuktuks in ella are expensive vut we hired scooters so getting around was fine, you could also walk down into the main town easily

2 things we did not like were and that is why I cannot give highest grade: 1. Part of the windows was not real glass but mosquito net, so the sounds from the street bellow and music in the distance were heard like the windows were wide opened all the time. Luckily the room was turned away from the tracks and trains did not pass so early morning nor late at night. But we heard everything that was going on outside which was not pleasant, and every night someting woke me up in the middle of the night. 2. Ant's invasion in the room, but I was prepared for it and brought sprey with me. It would've been good that this was provided by the accomodation as a prevention as we could not have had any, and being in the jungle we understand this is not something unusual.

Blue Ribbon Homestay is a nice option to stay in Ella, walking 10min from the hectic centre  / via the train tracks. We had the Large Double room which had 2 large double beds, a seating area and a bathroom.  It was clean and had more than enough space for out family and space to keep our 4 big suitcases opened. From the terrace infront of the room we could see the waterfall. Buddy was a nice host, breakfast was delicious and abundant, we were sorry not to be able to eat all the delicaties they prepared for us each morning. The 1st restaurant that is located on the main road, Mateys Hut is an excellent option for external lunch or dinner.

The bathroom could do with an extractor fan as it was very damp. The water wasn’t hot enough and shower didn’t work well

The odd lizard or cricket managed to make its way into the room but all the beds have their own mosquito nets so everything was fine - it also couldn’t be helped given that the house sits in the forest.

Hidden Gem. Fabulous hosts, great location. Such large breakfast choices. The views and wildlife are breathtaking and with such a short walk to town centre it really could not be faulted.

It was a lovely stay here. Especially the view from the balcony is amazing. I got up every morning to see the sunrise, which was incredible. The breakfast was amazing and both of them are very welcoming and caring. I spontaneously took a later train to Kandy, and it was no problem to be driven to the train station anyway and I even got some breakfast. It was perfect. The accommodation is located uphill. For some it could be better to go up by tuktuk, which is no problem. Though by foot it is also manageable. I would book it again

Stopped in for one day but decided to stay longer. The lovely proprietor of the hotel created a very welcoming atmosphere. Clean!!! The view from the terrace is amazing. The breakfasts are delicious, nice and tasty. The room has everything you need. Not noisy, but it is a short walk to the center. The famous train station is within walking distance. Only words of gratitude!

It didn’t have AC and a noise isolation in the windows was bad.

The property had a really good location up the hill with an amazing view and very little noise. The host was super kind and helped us with scheduling safari and gave us other suggestions, he even drove us to the bus station with tuk tuk. He made a really delicious breakfast.

Some TukTuk’s had some difficulties to get fully loaded up the mountain.

Wonderfull people, great food, great services and very helpfull. exceptioneel view from your own balcony! Great to be out of the center, nevertheless close by… it’s a 5-10 min. walk…

The water was not very hot (or at least not always), and the water pressure not so strong, so it was a bit difficult to have a hot shower. However, it was totally doable, as it is not very cold outside.

The location is very good, a 10-minute walk from the train station, in the middle of nature, with a stunning view. The walk is a bit steep, but it is the case for all the guesthouses in the area. The room was clean and comfortable, the owner extremely nice, responsive, and helpful. Breakfast was very good and filling.

Quiet location 5-10min outside the centre via a 5-10minute walk along the train tracks. Nice view of the waterfall and surrounding hills. Lots of birds singing in the morning and even an eagle hunting in the trees just off the terrace. Very comfortable bed, large bathroom with hot or cold water. Welcome tea and laundry service was available.
