The view is amazing, the staff is extremely kind and helpful with everything. They arranged a tuktuk day tour in Ella. The location is a bit far from the city center but you can always ask the guys to arrange a ride. The room is comfortable. The place is really close to a beautiful monastery.

Location is too high up on a hill, you need to either get your vehicle or stay up there once you check in. Also this is a low budget remote hotel, please dont have high expectations like hot water, AC, Iron, sanitaries etc. you get what you pay for :)

Excellent Sunrise! No need to get on the balcony, you can view it from your bed. The room was equipped with all basic facilities. Staff was extremely hospitable and friendly, made sure our stay was comfortable. Breakfast was good, included some srilankan dishes

It was a little out of Ella & as a solo traveler was too isolating unfortunately as i wanted to socialize. It is very basic but very clean. The staff were very lovely. It is so worth it for the sunrise! The staff can arrange any transport to Ella centre & are very helpful but it is basic. Would stay again just for the views.

The view is world class - i booked a room with hammock & I've would say it is one of the best sunrises I've experienced yet. You can hear the monks chanting through-out the mountains in the morning. It is close to the Buddhist Temple too which is so beautiful & worth a visit. The breakfast was huge too - maybe a little too big haha.

Sevice needs a real improvements

⸻ We stayed at this hotel in Ella and were captivated by the breathtaking view from our room—especially at sunrise over the mountains. The room was clean and comfortable, and despite its somewhat secluded location, the serene setting truly enhanced our experience. Unfortunately, the service did not meet our expectations. On two occasions, we had to wait over 30 minutes for breakfast, even though we had kindly informed the staff in advance that we had booked activities and couldn’t afford to be late. This delay set us back for the rest of the day. While our check-in at 5 PM was understandable since the room wasn’t ready at our arrival, our checkout process was less forgiving. We were required to vacate the room by 11 AM under the threat of additional charges, despite already experiencing delays caused by the late breakfast service. After explanation to the owner of the property who has been understanding we could finally process to the check out at 13:00 Overall, the hotel offers an outstanding view and a peaceful atmosphere,( just noise of the road during the day )but the service standards need significant improvement.

This hotel has amazing views from the window. There’s a beautiful monastery up on the hill, and you can reach it by taking a secret forest trail instead of the main road. The area is perfect for walks around the tea plantations. The staff is very friendly, and for dinner, you can order delicious curry with rice, the guys here cook really well. If you want to visit Ella you can use tuk-tuk

Bed sheets and towels had stains. Had to wait at least 4min for hot water. The road to get there was really harsh and hard to get thru. Staff's english skills weren't the best.

The view was really good and the breakfast was delicious. The staff was actually really polite and tried their best. Room was decent.

The road to get there was very tedious, you cannot take a car easily, buses go on it but not advised to drive up, a 10 minute drive of bumpy and dangerous road with close encounters, since there is a famous temple upwards.

Not sure why the staff were unable to communicate to our driver how to get our large minivan up the hill with proper directions. This resulted in a very stressed transfer to tuktuk and an hour wasted. The road is actually in great condition, wide even on the hairpins and we saw many buses going up and down. Also limited food choices and staff were not so welcoming or very attentive.

the beds need some attention , fresh drinking water would be good .. no shampoo or conditioner .... more signage to the hotel on roads close to hotel , as it can be difficult to find ... thankfully indicated is most helpful in driving you into town or in our case finding us and taking back to the hotel , thank you we really enenjoyed our stay.

The roads up to the property are really bumpy and windy, so it’s difficult to get up especially as we were driving our own tuktuk. However it is possible, just something to note.

The accommodation is relatively basic, however the location is incredible in terms of the view. The sunrise is beautiful! Breakfast was also really nice and the staff are super helpful.

The view is phenomenal! Breathing. The staff is also very friendly and the breakfast is good. Definitely worth a night or two if you're passing by. Just remember that you'll need a tuktuk to the city due to its remote location.

We had several issues during our stay: 1) there was barely any water in the shower, the staff was trying to fix it the next day, however we still didn’t have hot water 2) I understand that the place is in the middle of the mountains, however the amount of insects was crazy - our room was full of it, we couldn’t sleep normally. I am pretty sure the solution for it can be found (at least a protection net on the windows) 3) the best way to get to the hotel is tuk-tuk - we had a car with driver but it was very challenging to get to the hotel. 4) I wouldn’t have breakfast there, the hygiene should be improved

There should be a TV facility but it was missing. Also as it is located in a remote area, there should be a good range of menu. But we found only limited food items there for dinner.

The view & the breakfast are the best things of Brisk Ella Retreat. Also the room was spacious & clean. The staffs were very helpful & hospitable.

I had a wonderful stay at the hotel in Ella, Sri Lanka. The hotel was excellent, and I had the best wake-up call of my trip with a stunning sunrise directly from my bed. The breakfast was delicious, and the hosts were incredibly accommodating.
