Stunning view on the waterfall from the room and the breakfast terrace:) nice peacock and amazing family, so nice and helpfull . Far away enough for staying quiet and at walking distance from the center, very nice shortcut along the Railway track. One of the best place for sure.

Despite this amazing homestay, it's good to know that there is some animal's : mouse on the roof on the highest floor and also a noisy wind that can be disturbing during the first night.

Shower and bath not very clean. Manager spoke limited English, although he was attentive and kind. Far from the center, TukTuk needed for anything

The waterfall view was lovely, could hear it on an evening. The hotel was also away from the main road, however it was a half hour walk into thr main area of Ella. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and we got a lift from the hotel owner in the morning to catch out train. There was also a very comfy bean bag :)

The people were very very kind and helpful

Incredible view of waterfall whilst eating breakfast. Very handy using the owner as a tuk tuk driver too! Good if you’re on a budget.

Sheets were damp with many ants under the douvet cover. This made us pretty uncomfortable when trying to sleep. Shower pressure was very low and sink wouldn’t unblock. Also got woken up at 6am by other guests eating breakfast in kitchen area.

The best part is the view. Clean and comfortable.

Located in the upper part of Ella, the trail features several climbs and requires a moderate level of fitness to complete but you’ll appreciate it once you see the incredible view. If you'd rather skip the hike, you can always take a tuk-tuk to the top.

The way up, takes 25 min uphill and challenge if you got your own tuk tuk (dangerous) and the rooms are very humid so the beds / linnen feels moist and mold.

The Host is kind and helpfull, and the View is amazing. It is clean, no bad smells, tastey breakfast, hot water with good preasure and hostel can secure you everything you need, just ask the host! Good price. Best guest place yet in srilanka!

Problem is to get to the hotel, couse the Road is not for a car, it s better to text the host for a tuk tuk, then it is no problem.

A local family accommodation, with the most friendly and attentive owner ever. Every morning he offered me flowers, a true gentleman! We had a small problem with the room but they automatically moved us to another room. The room was great and clean. The breakfast was good too. They also have a laundry service and the clothes smelled great! They are carrying out works to expand the accommodation with new rooms and better conditions, so I believe that from now on this space will only improve.

Room with a bit of humidity but that's normal for a place like Ella. They don't have an ATM, which isn't a problem, but I'll leave this information here so that other guests have this information.

This is the hardest one to review out of all the places we have stayed …. As have mixed feelings about it ! There was construction going on at the property infront of the house which made it a bit of a challenge to navigate up there ( elderly guests would struggle ) the room itself was large but tired , felt a little damp , bathroom shower head holder was missing and mildew on the ceiling . Def needs a good redoration . Good points : the view ….WOW stunning view of the waterfall , wildlife on the upper dining terrace ( chameleons , humming birds ) , breakfast was good , host was charming . if you have the chance state you want to be on the highest floor ( same level as dining terrace ) as theses rooms seems to be in better Condition and a much better view of the waterfall fall .

The view is absolutely insane. The family is very nice. One morning we came late for breakfast after the hike to Ella rock and they still arranged breakfast for us. Would stay again for sure!

I had a perfect stay at this homestay. The place was beautiful, modern, and felt brand new. The location was absolutely stunning—peaceful and surrounded by nature—which is exactly what I was looking for. It is a bit out of the way, so getting back in the evenings took some planning, especially after dark. But that’s the trade-off for being somewhere so scenic. The host was kind, though not very present during my stay. Overall, I loved it and would definitely recommend it for anyone wanting a peaceful, beautiful retreat.

the breakfast is simple and good. the family is very cute and helpful. the location is a bit outside but has a beautiful view to the near by waterfall.

Very nice view and away from the bustling center of Ella. The staff were nice and the rooms were clean, beds were comfy as well.

However, the rooms are very loud in the morning at breakfast time, from about 7. We could hear the conversations from the terrace and especially the scraping of the chairs was disturbing. So not exactly a quiet location.

Perfect spot for a couple of days. The waterfall view is outstanding. Home stay is located close to the train tracks so you can watch the train passing by and of course it’s a good way how to walk around. The family who owns the place is lovely and helped us a lot. With the tuk-tuk service and etc. Highly recommend this home stay, we loved the time there.

Friendly owners who were great at helping to organise tuk tuks/transport etc. Peaceful location with nice surroundings, a little bit out of town so much quieter. Lovely balcony to sit on and enjoy the jungle and waterfall views. Good place if you’re wanting a more relaxed stay!

The WiFi was a little patchy, but that seems to be typical in Sri Lanka. It is a little far so be prepared to walk 25 mins to town (good views on the walk though) or pay for a tuk tuk. The owner did provide discounted tuk tuk rides into town though!

Good view and location for walk and enjoy sights. Jack is very helpful and thanksgiving man. This homestay is really calm and silent place only birds singing. Breakfast was good and forethoughtful. Big buthroom with shower and hot water. Absence of insects.

Furnishing is poor like broken mirror and shelves for toothbrushes in bathroom.

We got a room in the new build section of the homestay so it was brand new, very modern and comfortable. Beautiful glass doors leading onto the balcony with a view of the waterfall. Lovely big breakfast. Very friendly and helpful owners, arranged a scooter rental and drove me back into town when I checked out.

Wifi cut in and out which seems standard in Sri Lanka and there was good service to use data instead. At the top of a very long and steep hill so would recommend getting a motorbike for your stay.
