Chill house hostel is absolutely laid back and the hosts are great! Only a quaint 4xbed bunk room. Kitchen facilities available. Wonderful paved porch with hammocks and view of the beautiful garden filled with wildlife - saw a woodpecker, monkeys and a mongoose!

A truly special little hostel: very clean, well-kept and welcoming. The atmosphere is relaxed and makes you feel at home right away. The porch and garden are beautiful, with plenty of cozy corners to sit, chat, read or simply enjoy the amazing sky and admire the moonlight reflecting on the palm leaves, feeling connected with the universe. I will definitely come back next time I 'm in Sri Lanka and stay longer to enjoy it even more.

The atmosphere is the best you can expect from a trip in Sri Lanka. Immerged in the clean nature, with amazing birds getting close to you hammock. If you expect open-minded conversations and good vibes as much as the touristic activities and visits, you must go there. The days spent in there will be a great and warm.

No laundry (no problem). If you need AC, well, you don't have it. For the price you pay, there's no better value for money. Excellent choice.

Paradise. I stayed longer because the hostel was so nice and relaxing. You feel like you are in the middle of a jungle, without the noise of the city but when you get out you're in the centre of the city close to the train station, market, local restaurants and the temples. Two minutes from a lake to see the sunrise with a yoga mat from the hostel. Clean kitchen, fridge, toilet, room. Jonty, the owner, has everything neat and well organised, he's very hardworking and helps with information or arranging safaris to Wilpatu. In fact, part of the good experience was meeting a wonderful person like him. A small room with two bunk beds (four beds). They have bicycles available to rent, useful for going to the temples. Free drinkable water.

The most chill hostel ever, Jonty and his friend are amazingly generous and kind. The room is very clean and serene. Jonty asked me what I wanted to do when I arrived at 8PM, and got me into a group safari the very next morning. Also the shower is amazing, best pressure in Sri Lanka.

Lovely vibes. Super clean and you have wild animals in the garden. You can also access to the lake from this garden. I would come back =)

Had a lovely time here - Jonty was great at making sure made the most of the time there and linking guests up together to help split costs eg Mihintale visit & safaris. It's super small hostel with just 4 beds so was a very chill vibe

Chill House Hostel is more than a hostel, it‘s a place where one can feel home and simply be yourself. One can feel how much love to the nature and details Jonti puts into this place. If youre lucky and can stay at this oasis of peace for some days, go for it and simply enjoy life. Extended several times and would do it all over again :)

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed! Jonti was always attentive, he kept the place clean and tidy, a kind soul to chat with! I enjoyed cooking and sharing food with my roommates, and just chilling out in the common area. Watching animals coming and going in the garden was fun - mongoose, monkey, parrot, Bengali monitor, woodpecker, kingfisher, hornbill, etc. Two minutes walk to the lake for sunrise/sunset. Truly a gem in Anuradhapura!

The place is small, only one room and a kitchen a a chill out zone outside, but man does it feel nice to be there! Probably one of the best felt places ive stayed in Sri Lanka, John D is a super nice guy who treats you like a friend and the size of the place creates a very comfy and intimate athmosphere. Also there are hammocks 🥰

Very nice owner, the accommodation was very clean and there is a water dispenser. It was also possible to rent bicycles. It’s a cozy stay and we felt immediately at home :) Would always go ther again.

Jonti, the owner, is a great host. Super helpfull and kind. The garden is great for relaxing and close to a beautiful lake. You can rent a bike here to cycle through the ruins (highly recommend!) and Jonti helps out with setting up tours to Willpattu
