We loved our stay here. The hosts were very warm and went out of their way to honour our requests. Beautiful rooms and a stone's throw away from the beach. Very clean garden where one can enjoy a wholesome breakfast. We enjoyed the spa facilities as well. Only one must figure out the meals on their own. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling as a group or solo.

Pool was nice, breakfast was delicious. Hotel was near the beach, although the villa was a bit set back, we were offered lifts everywhere. The staff were exceptional and so so very kind and helpful. Highly recommend.

Ths staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I loved the house and garden. Walking distance to beach, you can even hear the waves. Nice breakfast. The special treatments are a must!

All hotels here are close to the train tracks so you're going to hear it all day long.

We stayed for 2 nights in the family room. This place is so serene and green, although it is so close to the popular Bentota beach. The host family and staff are very good and make sure the stay is comfortable. Very good traditional breakfast in their home was a wonderful experience. They also recommended us good places for dinner and lunch. Me and my wife also had ayurveda massages which we liked very much. Definitely recommend a stay for the amazing location and warm hospitality.

Property is not well maintained and its very inside. Very difficult to locate

We stayed in the 3BR villa about 5 minutes walk from the main property. It had its own pool. We could walk to the beach through the main property.

The staff.

The facility was in a remote area with approach roads extremely narrow. The bathrooms did not have enough light, one of the room's door locks was not functional, main channels on the TV were missing and for breakfast you needed to travel by car to another place .

We were picked up from the airport and the staff was very friendly. We got our own house with three bedrooms, kitchen, etc. Only a short walk to the beach. Transport could easily be arranged, e.g. to restaurants and turtle sanctuary. The breakfast in the lovely garden was fantastic with great amount of fruits.

Nice room with two balconies in white colors, maybe in colonial style. Good bed, linen, towel. Good pressure of hot water. Delicious breakfasts in the picturesque garden with coconut palms, a fruit plate - the largest we have seen in Sri Lanka. Two minutes to a large empty beach. The place is quiet, the railway did not bother us. Actually it was a fun to watch trains passing by. The hotel did not offer lunch or dinner, but there were several restaurants nearby. My wife had a massage and she liked it. The owners suggested visiting a turtle farm. 10 minutes by tuk-tuk. We liked it very much. You can look at newborn turtles and even hold them in your arms.

The Homestay an old property and located in a large area. The beach was within walking distance of ~100m. The beach was not crowded and very nice to go for long walks. The breakfast was good, served with sumptuous amount of fresh fruits.

The toiletries provided were very basic with only a bar of soap.

Amazing cozy property, very attentive staff, we enjoyed our stay very much. 1 min to the beach, 10 minutes walk to the area with all the restaurants, surfing, etc.Breakfasts are amazing, lots of fresh fruits. Excursions suggested by staff were great and good price.

Rooms are not freshly renovated, bathrooms are a bit dated, but considering other positive moments it was not our concern

Stunning and tranquil place to stay near Bentota. Beautiful beach is accessible by path in a couple of minutes. Plenty of character!

Very nice and helpful people, good quiet location, close to the beach.

We stayed in the villa and not the main property, it is a bit remote, and not very pleasant. We had problems with cockroaches during our stay, no opportunity to open the windows because there were no mosquito nets, overall it's very dark and not a place you want to spend your time in. If you do choose Chitra, go for the rooms in the main hotel that look way better than where we stayed.

This place, along with the owners, have a special charm. We booked two separate rooms and both of them were spotless clean and spacious. We regretted that we didn't stay more. The house has a beautiful architecture and it's very well preserved and taken care of. I felt like home here. I recommend eating breakfast in the garden because it's both huge and beautiful and, sometimes, the train passes by... We will defintely stay here in the future. Moreover, the beach is at 5 minutes walking distance

This is a very beautiful stay at a great location. The stay is just a few minutes away from the beach, across from a cute railway track. The property is green with a lot of coconut trees and vintage style rooms. We absolutely loved staying on this property. But what truly made this stay special was the hospitality and warmth of Dr. Chithra and her family. Dr. Chithra, her husband, brother, and her son, Janith, were hands-on - right from serving a delicious breakfast in the morning, to making restaurant suggestions in the night. The ayurvedic massages were good too. Would definitely recommend this property.

Exceptional stay, the villa has direct access to the beach. And also provide ayurvedic consultation and treatment.
