This property is hands down the best in Hikkaduwa.. location on the beach, fixtures and fittings. Big open spaces, super clean and ran by a superb lady called Franziska. Nothing was too much trouble and they really took special effort to look after us. Amazing place on every level

It was simply amazing from the beginning to the end! An experience like no other 😃. My friend and I were upgraded and had wonderful sea views and enjoyed watching the surfers. All staff were professional and friendly and went out of their way to provide the best experience ever! We fell in love with the adorable Kiki the local hotel dog. Franzi was incredible and added a personal touch to your stay and always had a smile on her face. I have stayed in many hotels over my years of traveling and this hotel is simply THE BEST!

All expectations were met.

The staff, particularly the hotel manager, were very friendly and helpful in recommending and organising activities such as surfing lessons. The accommodation is comfortable, clean and the hotel facilities superb. The location is right on the beach and there are good restaurants nearby.

We had an exceptional experience at Dormero Hotel, and I cannot speak highly enough of the service, comfort, and attention to detail throughout our stay. What truly made the experience stand out, however, was the incredible hospitality and professionalism of Franzie, the hotel manager. Franzie and her team went above and beyond to ensure every guest felt welcomed and looked after. The rooms were immaculate, the amenities thoughtfully curated, and the entire staff was consistently attentive and kind. I highly recommend Dormero Hotel to anyone visiting the area.

Amazing stay in Hikkaduwa. We were celebrating our anniversary and all of the staff went out of their way to make it special. Franzi the manager organised an upgrade to a suite which had the most incredible terrace facing the sea. There was also an outdoor shower in our room which was an added bonus! Franzi was so welcoming and gave us a little guide of where to eat etc. Great location as well with direct beach access and close to many restaurants.

If you’re looking for 5 star luxury, Dormero at Hikkaduwa won’t let you down. The place has a beautiful, relaxed, laid back ambience. The rooms are spacious and spotless. It feels incredibly safe with friendly security on the grounds 24/7 and you’re always greeted by them with a smile. There are no shortage of gorgeous staff to cater for your every need. Breakfast is beautiful and in abundance. Attention to detail is shown throughout the entire hotel and the pool is pure bliss. I have to make a special mention of Franci, the hotel manager who particularly made our stay at Dormero very memorable. Franci we miss you, we miss being spoilt by all of you and we WILL be back. Thank you so much for the perfect holiday.

From the moment we arrived, the team went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. The hotel is immaculate, offering all the amenities you could hope for—and more. The breakfast was an easy 10/10, with exceptional service to match. We visited for our honeymoon, and the staff made every effort to ensure it was extra special. Waking up to the sight of surfers in the sea each morning was a personal highlight, adding to the hotel’s already breathtaking setting. If you fancy a change of scenery, a short one-minute stroll along the beach brings you to a selection of great bars and restaurants, perfect for lunch or dinner. No matter how many nights you book, it won’t feel like enough. I’ve never given a perfect 10 in a review before, but this hotel truly deserves it. I couldn’t recommend it more!

Wow what a hotel. Immaculately clean, beautiful decor and the staff treat you like royalty. The breakfast was incredible and also lots of other little touches like a treat delivered to our room in the evening and welcome drink/towel. We came to hikkaduwa especially for this hotel and were so glad we did because everything was perfect. The staff really can’t do enough for you and are so friendly. Also the hotel had a really cute dog. Might be a tad more expensive than other hotels along the Sri Lankan coast but you get what you pay for. This place cannot be beaten on quality. One of the most incredible places I've stayed in my life! We booked the junior suite but then moved to the double queen with sea view room. The views are amazing - it felt like we were in the ocean! The staff was even more incredible than the views with their warm hospitality and friendliness. They went above and beyond for my birthday! I would 100% recommend this place and 100% return!

My husband and I are absolutely delighted with this hotel and couldn’t be happier with our choice! It’s clear that the hotel is brand new—everything is well-maintained and stylish. The staff is incredibly friendly and always ready to help. The breakfasts are simply amazing: diverse, hearty, and delicious. A special bonus for us was the adorable dog, Kiki, who adds even more charm to the atmosphere and earns an extra point in our book. If we ever visit Hikkaduwa again, we will undoubtedly stay here once more!

Luxury boutique at its finest. It was absolutely incredible, the rooms, the view and the location for surfing, restaurants, sundowners, well, I don’t think you can beat it in hikkaduwa. Quite simply it felt like a home from home and the hotel feel was sensational. We loved Kiki the dog and overall, I would not recommend anywhere but the DORMERO hotel to anyone thinking of visiting hikkaduwa.

We found the breakfast arrangements a little restrictive for a hotel in this price category, they need to rewrite the menu to make it more flexible and better leverage local produce. (And as vegetarians we didn’t need bacon and sausage with everything.) On the other hand, when asked, the staff were pleased to go ‘off piste’ and give us what we actually wanted eg 2 eggs and a king coconut!

Franziska was very helpful before and during our stay and we were grateful for the amazing large room which we were given for our 3 night stay. The property is well located in front of the main surfing area with modern facilities. It’s a small hotel with very open architecture and very high build quality. Security was good with a 24/7 team. It was a short walk to beachside restaurants or diving operators. The pool was a good size and ideal for a pre breakfast / pre sea swim.
