My stay at Eden Kandy Guest House was honestly unforgettable. The place is spotless and thoughtfully designed, with a beautiful garden, a shared kitchen, and cozy little spaces for reading or relaxing. Books are everywhere, free tea and coffee are always available, and the whole space feels warm and welcoming — more like staying in someone’s home than at a guesthouse. The real highlight, though, is Udaya. He’s one of those rare hosts who genuinely cares. From small details to big arrangements, he always made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Even after I left Kandy, he helped me organize a fantastic driver for my onward trip and kept in touch to make sure all was going smoothly — such a thoughtful gesture. The location is great too: peaceful and quiet, but still an easy walk into the city and close to all the main sights. I left feeling not just rested but uplifted by the kindness and positivity here. And considering everything that’s included, the value is incredible. If you’re heading to Kandy, I can’t recommend Eden Kandy enough — it’s the kind of place you’ll remember long after you’ve left.

The beautiful surroundings, garden and tasteful interior decor stood out at Eden kandy. The bed is sturdy and comfy. The staff and mr Ayuda are very accommodating and helpful and overall , it was a lovely stay .

Location was good but couldn't find good restaurants within 2kms from the stay.

It's a good quiet stay and at a beautiful location. But couldn't find restaurants within 1km after 8pm. Room was neat, the view from the balcony was beautiful to wake up to and enjoy green tea. The staff/owner was very nice and kind. He helped us plan a lot of things not only around Kamdy but also around Sri Lanka. Having a conversation with the owner was pleasant.

i loved my stay in thi cozy and atmospheric guesthouse. everytging was perfect. the owner was incredibly helpful and welcoming. he wrires you on whatsapp just after your booking and take care of you, also giving you recommendations of restaurants etc. the area is peaceful and you can relax in the beautiful garden

Great place. Not really from the town. Great wifi. Tuktuk from the center is just Rs 200/- , and you can walk to the center easily. The place looks more like a resort than a hostel.

Small smell in the room during the night due to the bathroom drain. Few places we stayed in had this issue. This was small dislike. Overall 10/10

It was 10/10 - great value, breakfast and location. You really can’t go wrong with this place for the price - highly recommend. Host was a great help and will help organise your trip if you wish.

Excellent Stay! Hostel is very clean, and property is very well kept. we we stayed in the female Dorm and it was a very pleasant stay. The host is very helpful and will guide you to explore in and around kandy helplessly. Very well maintained property and at a 5 mins distance from the tooth relic temple.

Here is the detailed review for this place: This is the single hostel in Kandy which feels like you're staying in a resort. The property is amazing. Very nearby to all the main attractions. Hostel is very clean and the beds for super clean and hygienic. Same goes for washroom. They have a kitchen too where you can do heat your food and even have some tea/coffee. They have a dedicated area to work and a really nice common area where you can chill with fellow travellers. The owner Uday, is a sweetest guy who'll take care of all your needs. He'll even give you good suggestions and advice. Just sit with him and have a little chat.

Nothing, was all perfect.

We really enjoyed our stay at Eden Kandy. It's a great place. Big and clean room, good breakfast, nice garden and sitting areas. The owner was the best - assisted us with everything during and even after our stay and gave us his friends contacts for different places - would totally recommend and we'll be back if we come back to Sri Lanka one day.

The location is over a hill which is quite steep from the bus station/city center. Dont be foolish like me to think about walking it off with bags because of it being just 1.4kms. It feels 2.5kms haha.

The Manager was super helpful. Provided all details and ready to help with any itinerary requests one has. The other hostellers were also super friendly and amazing.

The washroom could have been a little bigger and towels could have been of a better quality.

The place is very peaceful and full of greenery. Ample space for dining, reading books and working out in the lawn. Our host Uday was always making sure we had a comfortable stay and guided us throughout our city tour, arranged a good tuk tuk guy and helped us with everything that is needed for a good trip.

Nice clean and modern place in a very peaceful environment, far from the noise of the city, but also pretty close (aboit 15min on foot). The owner is very kind and helpful. There is a nice garden and a kitchen with drinking water and a kettle (tea and coffee available). Good wifi and spacious lockers.

Udaya and his beautiful hotel exceeded our expectations! He is an extremely helpful and kind person and we are more than happy that we chose Eden Kandy. From the first second we felt very welcomed and also the common rooms and the garden are very inviting. If you have the chance to get a booking at Eden you should definitely take it, we highly recommend. 11/10 points.

The location is just a 20-minute walk from the Kandy Railway Station, and the road leading up to it treats you to some truly stunning views. The area itself is calm, quiet, and incredibly comfortable—perfect for a relaxing stay. The owner is exceptionally friendly and goes out of his way to ensure guests are comfortable. He keeps the place spotless and even booked me a PickMe ride for the morning using his phone, which was a thoughtful touch. Overall, this place exceeded all my expectations. If you're travelling to Kandy, I highly recommend staying here—it's a hidden gem!

Most importantly, the hospitality of maneger, He also keeps the place suuuper clean, which is a very big asset for me personally! Amazing! The place is really nice and clean. The owner is super helpful and friendly. It’s easy to reach and if you drive your own tuktuk they can help you with driving it up (it’s just a few meters) . He provides drinking water and there is nice warm water in the shower. The view is beautiful and the place is very peaceful. Good to get some rest after a day in the busy city. Would absolutely recommend and book it again!

Host is very helpful. I had a bag of laundry and he made sure that it is taken care of so I could go and discover the city. The facility is super nice, quiet but still easily accessible. It is easy to feel like home, lots of spots to relax and recharge.

We had a wonderful stay at Eden Kandy! The location is perfect, just a short distance from the railway station, the lake, and the White Buddha. The place feels very homely, with super helpful and welcoming staff. The dorm was super clean, and the common areas were great, with games and a lawn to relax on. The stove wasn't connected to gas, even though there was a picture of the stove, hence giving the impression that one can use it, so the kitchen wasn't really fully functional. I have addressed this with the host, and I am confident that this will be rectified.

Great host, beautiful house and garden, and well located. I have already recommended it to other people.
