The place is very quiet and just 8 minutes drive from ella center. The hospitality was great, the breakfast is very generous and everything is very fresh and tasty. The place have such a good vibe and the family running the business is the nicest. For the price point its an amazing option.

The stay is good overall but the place even though a hill stations isn't much cooler and as there is no fan it felt bit uncomfortable

For us, we liked everything, but do not expect warm water or quick wifi.

You get what is promised. Lovely family that receives you and tries to accommodate all your wishes in a very tailored way. High value for little money. We (family with five children) stayed three nights including breakfast, and each breakfast we got something different, it was prepared with lots of care, to give us a new experience each time. I can warmly recommend Ella Value Village.

I stayed for 2 nights in mid-April. The place is run by a kind and welcoming family. The room was spacious and very clean. Although the location is a bit far from town and requires a tuktuk to get around, it was perfect for me as I could enjoy the peaceful surroundings and beautiful nature of Ella. The restaurant is located upstairs, where I had delicious local food for both breakfast and dinner. What impressed me the most was the owners’ two young sons who seemed in elementary school. They explained everything about the guesthouse and meals in fluent and polite English. They were incredibly cute and amazing!

Not much of a view from the accommodation as there is a building in front of the rooms, blocking the view of the surrounding countryside.

Lovely location up the hill outside of the town - if you want to be in the town this is not the place for you - it was convenient for the Ella Rock trek which started not too far from the accommodation without having to walk back in to town to the train station. Super friendly family who were keen to help us with everything. The provided evening meal at a reasonable price. The breakfast was delicious. The room was large and comfortable.

The host is the owner of the property and he was very accommodating and friendly. We had checked in around 1.30 at late night. Nevertheless, he waited for us and made sure we had a comfortable stay

No chairs on the balcony outside of the room, The location is about 30 minutes uphill walk from the railway station and town. It didn't bother me but worth noting that it's either that or a tuk tuk ride. Obviously it's a downhill walk into town!!

Comfortable clean ensuite room with a shaded balcony area. Managed to get a hot shower, which is something that I haven't achieved everywhere in Sri Lanka. Run a friendly young family who served up a tasty breakfast that was included in the room price and good value evening meals. A quiet location away from Ella centre which suited me fine.

The rooms seem it’s still being built and is incomplete. There’s no knob in the bathroom. It is little far from ella town and is quite expensive to travel frequently in tuktuk.

The owner were very friendly. They arranged a tuktuk for us. The place has a good surrounding and the environment is nice.

Great new place with a fabulous resturent Freedom Cafe Ella. Owner Nishantha and wife are very helpful. Great food with much veriety and really value for money. If you are in Ella you should try this up comming place for sure.

Slight out of Ella town (25 minute walk) however plenty of tuc tucs pass so no problem getting a lift

I stayed for one night and on the day I checked out there was a Buddhist ceremony for the opening of the restaurant/cafe. The owners welcomed me as part of the family to join the ceremony and help make an offering to the monks. After enjoyed a love breakfast with them. Best local experience!

Water pressure was very low under the shower and in the sink

The room was big and we had a big comfortable bed. The owner was such a nice and kind person, helping us with all our requests! Breakfasts were super tasty, we had toasts, omelette, pancakes, fruits and delicious hot tea. Wi-Fi is working very well. If you want to go to the city by foot, you need to go around 30min but it’s a nice walk

We booked 2 nights in Ella value village but decided we wanted to stay longer because we loved the place. The host Karu and his family were really kind and made our stay fantastic! They served great breakfast and dinner. The location is nice because of the calm atmosphere. We would recommend anybody to spend their time in Ella at Karus place.
