This is the best place I stayed in Sri Lanka. The villa the owner had designed and built himself was very comfortable and surrounded by a beautiful garden. Nice shade and breeze in the garden make you wanna sit and read a book for hours! Friendly staff and delicious traditional breakfast made my stay perfect. Location is just about between Dambulla and Sigiriya, and that made it easy for me to travel to both places in my own tuk-tuk.

I had been concerned by the limited ventilation at first, but it ended up being okay. The second room is a little small.

The place is tucked away in nature and really beautiful. There isn't a living room really, but you get to sit outside on the porch with the beautiful gardens before you. The host is extremely kind and a GREAT cook. The food was just delicious. He provided dinner too for reasonable prices. The rooms are super clean, and the host puts a personal touch with decorating so well. It's just off Sigiriya, but you can get there by tuktuk. Host gives great advice too for where to visit. He also allowed us to use the larger villa when though we had booked the smaller ones.

The place was in a remote location surrounded by tall trees. It felt quite, peaceful and a retreat into the nature. The rooms were spacious with A/C and very clean. The hosts was very friendly with great breakfast and suggestions for dinner etc. He even helped us arrange a safari. If I ever return to Habarana not staying anywhere else. All around can't say enough on how great this place was for the price.

Nothing to dislike.

Super friendly host. Beautiful accommodation and lovely gardens. Great breakfasts and well stocked fridge. Perfectly situated for visits to Sigiriya, Cave temple at Dambulla, and several national wildlife parks. Highly recommend, and hope to return in the future.

The only small note is that ventilation is a bit limited, as only the front door and window open, while other areas (bathroom, kitchen, second bedroom) don’t have windows for airflow. It wasn’t a big issue, but something to be aware of if you’re sensitive to indoor air circulation.

This place was immaculately clean, which is my top priority when booking accommodations. It also had the hottest shower I’ve had in a month in Sri Lanka, which was a huge plus. Nights were quiet, with no constant barking dogs—something I really appreciated after experiencing that in most other places. The location feels peaceful and secluded, yet it’s still easy to get around by walking, tuk-tuk, or scooter. The host was very attentive and made sure I had everything I needed. The garden is also a nice spot to relax with a book or computer. Overall, a great stay—clean, comfortable, and well-managed.

The owners were very attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. The garden is full of birds and wildlife at breakfast. There is a fridge where you can pay for extra water or snacks if needed. It is secure for cars and there is parking.

The hosts at this property were so warm and welcoming. We booked very last minute and they made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Breakfast was delicious and everything was cooked fresh in the morning by the hosts. Clean and spacious rooms, with beautiful surroundings. We loved our stay and would recommend to anyone passing by!

We had a very pleasant stay! It was very clean, the beds were good and we had several pillows, 3 pillows per person, some of them memory foam, which made sleeping very comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was tasty and rich in options. The owner was super friendly and sweet and helped us with everything we needed. Would recommend!

Cannot recommend this place enough! Loved every second here. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. You'll get a view into the beautiful green garden straight from your bed or you can hang out on the terrace. Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa are easy to reach from here and you'll love to come back to the little villa to relax after an eventful day. The service was outstanding with little treats here and there (e.g. juice, fruit platter) and just an overly friendly host, willing to accommodate all your wishes. The breakfast was delicious and abundant. Seriously, stay here if you're in the area!

We were very surprised by the quality of this accomodation, that easily matches the standards of established four-star hotels (no exageration), but with a family touch - it is run by a young couple of private owners, who put great effort into keeping their customers happy in every way. Most appreciated was calm environment and staff friendliness. Btw - the location is very strategically set in the center of the "cultural triangle". Many thanks!
