Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SingaporeA small note that their bedsheets could be softer and the aircon was not strong enough. But we still had a wonderful night sleep.
Beautiful very well kept and the staff were amazing. Pleasantly surprised as we only paid 100 USD per night, such good value for money! Beautiful huge villas with a full living room which is rare, huge TV, lovely pool and beautifully landscaped property.

SeychellesNothing at all.
Out of the 10 places we stayed at during our trip across Sri Lanka, Four Chalets Yala was by far the most wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a refreshing drink and cool towels – such a thoughtful touch after a long journey. The two hosts – a lovely lady at reception and a gentleman who looked after us – were exceptional. Unfortunately, we forgot to ask their names, but their professionalism and genuine warmth left a lasting impression. The other staff members were also great. What we truly appreciated was that we never once felt pressured into extra services or reviews; their approach was natural, authentic, and sincere, which made us feel instantly comfortable. The chalets themselves suited our personality perfectly – modern, spotlessly clean, and beautifully designed. Every detail seemed well thought out. The food was good, and the portions were generous. Adding to the charm was the resident family of monkeys around the property. They complimented the natural surroundings beautifully and made the experience even more memorable Overall, this stay stood out as a highlight of our entire trip. We felt very relaxed there. Four Chalets Yala combines comfort, design, and heartfelt hospitality in a way that’s rare to find. We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Yala and would absolutely return without hesitation.

AustriaOne of the most beautiful properties where we stayed in Sri Lanka. We had Chalet No. 1 as a family and it was very spacious and very well designed. What an unique experience ! Super friendly stuff, our host Damith was doing his best to make sure we had the best experience. They arrange Safari tours as well. Very quiet location.

SingaporeExceptional service from the team leader and service team, room was spacious and clean , aircon and hot water working, meals cooked by chef was great , didnt use but nice small pool and also arrangement for my safari done for me thanks for the great stay! Do note the location is abit far from town. Its more for staying within and going safari rather as a base to explore the surrounding town.

New ZealandThe staff are so lovely but their English is very limited. We ate dinner here one night and the food was quite disappointing and flavourless. They only offer dinner from 7:30pm, which is quite late when you’re exhausted and hungry after a full day safari. They also charge a 10% service fee on top of every meal, which I think is a bit unreasonable given you are already paying to stay there. We also used their driver to take us to our next accomodation in Mirissa for 25000 rupees which when we got to Mirissa they told us that was a high price.
This accommodation is absolutely beautiful. The chalets are huge with wonderful big beds, incredibly clean and great air con. Probably the nicest room I’ve ever stayed in, period. We only stayed for 2 nights and they replaced all our towels and made our beds whilst we were in out for our Safari. Although Four Chalets is expensive for Sri Lanka, this is great value for money for accomodation close to Yala National park. You are not close to any shops, so need to Tuktuk into Tissamaharama which costs around 1500 rupees return. The outdoor area feels like a spa retreat and the pool is wonderful after a long day on the Safari. Would definitely recommend for a stay near Yala.

AustraliaWe stayed two nights here as a group of 5 for our Safari in Yala National Park. The stay was perfect. They helped us book and organise the safari and truly went out of their way to look after us while we were there, even preparing dinner for us late after we arrived in. They have great facilities and the rooms are stunning. Also very comfortable beds! Highly recommend!

GermanyFood options are limited but okay if you are only staying a night or two. Especially breakfast could be improved, still felt hungry after. Didn’t bother us but make sure to not keep any things outside as there are wild monkeys (had a very loud wake up as they where jumping on the roof one morning crossing through the property)
Nice room and especially very nice bathroom. Everything is clean and the property is well looked after. Staff very friendly. Very good BBQ for dinner one night. They can also pack you a small take away breakfast if you have a safari in the morning. They also offer safaris booked with them. The location is considerably close to the entrance of the park (compared to other towns in the area).

CanadaOff the beaten track but no problem if you have a driver or they will call a Tuk Tuk and going to town is not expensive.
Very nice place. Good value. Amazing room. It s tough to find a nice middle range hotel in Sri Lanka but this one is up there. Fast internet. Good breakfast (go with the Sri Lankan)

United Arab EmiratesThere are not so many things around. When you come for safari you don’t even need anything.
It was great stay for 2 nights. The hotel is only four rooms (chalets) with a pool and beautiful garden. Tasty food in the restaurant in the hotel (the only option to eat as there is nothing close by). We enjoyed the stay with my wife.

BangladeshThe only suggestion I might add is that the room could do with bed side lamps or night lights.
This was by far the best property we stayed at in Sri Lanka. Initially the price tag seemed a bit high for Sri Lanka standards but after having stayed at 5 other places in the country, the price seemed worth every penny. - The meals were superb, especially the dinner BBQ (one portion was enough for the two of us)! They arranged meals for our baby at no extra cost and that too an elaborate curry lunch on short notice, and even the baby meals were great. - Staff was super friendly and always available. The property contact listed on booking.com spoke fluent English. She was very accommodating of our needs and conveyed our requests promptly to the service staff. - The grounds of the property are beautifully decorated with well manicured lawns and lots of trees providing hideouts for all kinds of birds. The grounds are also visited by grey langur monkeys. A true nature's retreat that felt very luxurious. - The room is quite big with sufficient space for holding luggage. It's equipped with a large TV, larger than most other places with Netflix and all. The beds were super comfy and all three of us had a very comfortable night's sleep. The best part of the room was the floor to ceiling windows and you could draw up the curtains to reveal a beautiful outdoor patio. - The owner (who happened to be visiting the day we were there) was a lovely person who really took care of us and even arranged flip-flops for us for no additional charge! And the place looked exactly like the photos on booking.com so we couldn't find fault with anything at all. We would go back there in a heartbeat!

United KingdomThe only down point is that you can’t walk to any restaurants as you are slightly out of town. We were luckily to have a driver who picked us up to take us to tissa town so it wasn’t a problem. They do serve dinner there though.
The property was stunning, set in lush gardens with a fantastic pool and outdoor dining area. We stayed in the family room and it is huge, so much space for a family of 4 to enjoy. The staff were friendly, kind and go out of their way to help. We recommend staying here.
