The hotel is quite far from the centre of Ella. As mentioned in previous reviews, the road was simply horrendous. The tuktuk taking us from the station with our cases struggled to get up the steep hill. At one point, one of us had to get out and walk up that hill.

The view from the hotel was stunning. The room was clean and comfortable enough. The staff, especially Jana, were very attentive and helpful. They arranged a tuktuk for us and Kavi, the driver, was just great. We had his WhatsApp number an he was available within 10 minutes to take us to Ella and back. We also had a tour of the waterfalls with him. Another tour worth mentioning was The Organic Tea Garden. The breakfast at the hotel was good.

The property was amazing. Clean, comfortable, great facilities and the view was absolutely unbeatable! The staff were so kind and helpful! Shoutout to Janna and Sampat who made the stay so much easier and welcoming. The owner was also very helpful, even driving us into Ella town so we didn’t have to walk. We will definitely be staying again!

The breakfast wasn’t great, not very good bread, and small omelette, and very synthetic coloured jelly for jam. The location isn’t great, you have to pay the hotel their tuk tuk service or get a tuk tuk down to the Main Street as cars cannot reach the hotel, tuk tuks will charge you a lot more because they have to go up a steep hill to get there you can opt to walk down to the road via some steep steps then call a tuk tuk, but it’s a bit troublesome all in all.

The view was amazing from the balcony, perfect for doing yoga in the mornings. The staff were pleasant.

It would have been helpful to have known in advance that the property can only be reached by tuk tuk but staff were very helpful and came to pick us up when our car couldn’t get up the road!

Beautiful property on the top of the hill with fabuous views. Such lovely and accomodating staff and lovely brekfasts. This place is so serene and peaceful we loved our stay. Handy walk down steps as a shortcut down the hill. There is a restaurant and spa just 5 mins walk away at bottom of steps or else can walk or get tuktuk from here down to the town which will take 5 mins.

The guesthouse is very difficult to get to- up a terrible and, at times, sandy tiny lane. Walking into town takes at least 30 minutes, down some difficult steps and not a handrail in sight- no lighting in the dark. Some tuk tuk drivers refused to take us up there.

The view from this guesthouse was out of this world. A place to think about life, a very peaceful place!

High up on the hillside the views from here are amazing. The staff were extremely kind and helpful and breakfast excellent. Its about a 15/20 minute walk down into town but easier to take a tuk tuk back up to the main road steps from where you climb about 150m up a steep set of steps. You do need to be fairly fit to stay here but recomend it!

When we arrived we stayed at the beautiful big shared Terrasse for a while, taking in the amazing view, drinking the welcome-tea. The view from the balkony in our room was amazing too, we loved to sit there in the morning, facing the sunset or watching the fog cut through the mountains. In the first night there was a bad smell in the bathroom, but wer're pretty sure that this is because of the heavy rain that accured during the day. On day 2 the smell was gone. Breakfast was basic but okay with a lot of tea. Host and staff were nice and helpful. The road up to the homestay is really tricky especially when raining, but there is also a shortcut only walkable by foot. It was a nice stay with nice host and nice view.

A tuk tuk is needed to get from the main road to the property and down to town- this is not really an issue as was very cheap and the owner is able to run guests back and forth as needed. Just be aware of this .

The rooms were sufficient , clean with a comfortable bed… however the views from the balcony were probably the most spectacular seen all holiday and are literally at the top of a mountain range. This made it worth it for the price alone .

food was basic, and at times cold. However it was always given enthusiastically and with fruit which went down a treat. Didn’t come for the included food however so not really phased :)

Amazing view, can’t beat it. The staff were so lovely and answered any question/ask we had! There is a little nightly walk to get up to the hotel but it was good after eating out. The view is worth it +++ and considering the price it’s an amazing deal we think :)

If you’re wondering whether to book a room here—definitely yes! We rented a car and drove here ourselves. The road was quite challenging, with steep inclines. Tip: Contact the hotel in advance and ask them to show you the easier route! The first thing we encountered was the incredible hospitality of the staff. They greeted us with a tuk-tuk, helped us navigate the difficult road, carried our luggage, and welcomed us with a delicious nighttime tea. The hotel owner is amazing, and the atmosphere is truly special. The view from the room speaks for itself, the rooms are comfortable, and there’s hot water (which is a big plus in Sri Lanka!). Breakfasts are delicious, and the hotel even has its own tuk-tuk to take you to the city. Thank you for such a wonderful experience! I’ll definitely recommend this place to my friends.

The place is outside of Ella Town, but the view is spectacular. Ella Town is accessible by foot or tuk-tuk, but it's mountains, so consider that the walk is like a hike.
