Imantha was the best, he always picked us up & drove us everywhere with his tuktuk. He gave us great recommandations (food, activities, best time to vist the nine arch bridge and so on) we visited a water fall where we were the only people there at the beginning! The room was stunning with an exeptional view. Everyone was super friendly, helpful & attentive even his dad picked us up at one point. 10/10 would come back and recommend to everyone!

Everything was amazing no faults at all

Imantha the host of the property was the nicest local we have come across and nicest host we have had ever. Went above and beyond for us. The property has stunning views, big room and private balcony. Worth the money. He made us a breakfast which was unbelievable. Close to the main area only a tuk tuk away which Imantha provides.

The hotel is difficult to access.

It was a large family room with a nice bathroom. Everything was very clean. The host was very friendly and offered to pick us up by tuk-tuk, since the hotel is difficult to access. Breakfast was wonderful with plenty of food! Dinner was also very good. We ate on a balcony overlooking the forest full of trees and birds.

This was our absolute favorite place to stay with Sri Lanka!! We stayed for 2 nights and it wasn’t long enough. The place was beautiful (both the view and the accommodation itself). The host family was WONDERFUL, we felt so looked after and nothing was a problem. Their breakfast was also delicious. Would 100% recommend

The distance, which has been mentioned by others, was a bit inconvenient, but I guess if you want to stay somewhere with such beautiful views, thats the sacrifice you need to make.

The cabin is beautifully designed and has spectacular views of Ella. The design of the place makes it feel like you are staying in a little treehouse and the bathroom design is super cool. The breakfast was the best I had in all of my time in Sri Lanka and Chaminda is super friendly and very readily available for anything you need.

Everything about our accommodation was perfect! The views were of course spectacular and eating the delicious breakfast on the balcony was a highlight. We always felt very cared for and the owners made every one of our plans possible. I would recommend this accommodation to everyone wanting to have a wonderful vacation. For us it was our favourite stay during our Sri Lanka trip.

Guest Inn Avendra was such a gem of a homestay, the kind of place where the family truly welcomes you in and looks after you like one of their own. From the moment I arrived, they couldn’t do enough to help. I got to know them properly over the days: I even arranged a private tour of the area with them and the son drove me to and from town whenever I needed for a very reasonable rate. Breakfast on the balcony, surrounded by trees and birdsong, was a peaceful and delicious start to each day. The property is tucked a little further out from central Ella, but that’s part of its charm - you’re right in nature, with monkeys passing through and a direct hike to Ella Rock starting from your doorstep. They’ll happily arrange a tuk-tuk for anything else. It’s still very much a homestay, with warm conversation and delicious home-cooked meals, but there’s something more elevated about it - The cabins are lovely, and it feels peaceful, stylish and high-end in spirit, even as they expand. It’s not in the tourist bustle, and I genuinely preferred that. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a more authentic, personal and peaceful stay near Ella.

Such incredibly friendly hosts who really do go the extra mile in offering warm and friendly hospitality and a genuine welcome. We enjoyed the home cooked meal for dinner, loved meeting the whole family and we were very grateful for the packed breakfast that we could take with us on the train. It's a newly built set of rooms for the guests and everything was in such good condition and so clean.

Staying in this duplex quadruple room felt like living in a dreamy mountain cabin!. The room is beautifully furnished, full of charming details, and so cozy. It’s the kind of place you instantly fall in love with. Waking up to the sunrise right from the bed was pure magic. The views over the valley and surrounding mountains are absolutely breathtaking. The kind you just can’t stop staring at. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the incredible service from Imantha and his family. They are genuinely kind, attentive, and always went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and cared for. The homemade local breakfasts and dinners prepared by Imantha’s mom were delicious and authentic. A perfect way to experience the local flavors. I agree with all the good reviews already written. Great location, calm and extremely beautiful. We stayed at the family unit which had a great terrace with the best views. Basic, but nice. The house had big windows with the same beautiful views, but private (no view in). The food was great home cooking, beautiful fruit platters in the mornings and everything else you need. The host was extremely service-minded and nice. Did everything to make our stay good.Stayed up late to pick up our boys from town at night. Had great tips to do in Ella outside the normal things. We recommend it highly👌

My girlfriend and I had the most unforgettable experience staying in this hillside cottage in Ella, Sri Lanka. Truly the best stay we’ve ever had! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking mountain views that surrounded us. Every morning felt like waking up in a dream. The view from the apartment is amazing and the host is such a sympathic guy. The communication was very easy and he picked us up at the train station. In the afternoon he showed us all the must see places in Ella for a very fair money and we had a great time together with hin. The apartment was built with so much love so that you have huge space in a modern furniture tiny house. We definitely recommend this place.

The place was beautiful, inside the jungle and near to Ella. Imantha and all his family were very kind and always ready to make your holiday very special! Breakfasts and dinners were delicious, made with love with local foods and eating on the terrace overlooking the mountains was priceless!! If you wanted to be central to Ella this isn't the best place to stay, however we loved the peace of being out of the town and the views you can only get from being that bit higher up. We were shown a lovely walking route into the town though and also it was very easy to arrange a tuk tuk into town and back whenever we wanted it, so there was no issue at all.

The accomodation is set out like individual apartments on the hillside, our place had a bedroom, bathroom and living area with a balcony. The whole place has absolutely breathtaking views. The place itself is very clean well thought through. It's a family run business and it was great to receive a very warm welcome and to enjoy the fantastic home cooking. Our hosts couldn't do enough for us, always making sure we had everything we needed and helping with top tips of where to go and things to do.

There is nothing to improve on.. it's perfect!

You will absolutely not regret staying at Avendra Inn. Imantha, Sunil and their family go out of their way to make you feel at home and help you with anything you might need. The views are absolutely incredible - you are right in the jungle with all its nature and sounds but feel safe too! The breakfasts and dinners were lovely too. We couldn't be happier with our stay, and want to thank Imantha especially for treating us like family, Inviting us to the local village celebrations of Poson Poya and being so friendly. Thank you!

This was an absolutely beautiful stay!!! Here’s a list of all the wonderful things: - Imantha’s hospitality- he was an excellent host throughout the whole stay (you can tell he absolutely loves his job!). He was always approachable, gave us tips for the hikes we had planned and suggestions for other activities, was always available to help us arrange transport etc - the location- the guest house is a little bit outside Ella up in the hills, which meant amazing views and very peaceful sleeps. Very easy to get to Ella by Tuktuk and it was nice to have the option to stay in the guesthouse for dinner if we wanted a quieter night - very close location to the Ella rock trailhead - the food!! This was the best breakfast by far we had during our stay in Sri Lanka. Fresh fruits and different Sri Lankan dishes every day served over the most beautiful views. - extremely comfortable bed Could not recommend this place enough, I’ve never been so sad to leave a guesthouse!
