Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ChileThe toilets were not as clean as I was expecting for the price. The AC on the room would be very good to keep the air clean, because when it rains the air condenses inside the room.
The common areas were the best, very nice to stay and work. Good wifi. The staff was very nice and kind, they would make anything so you could feel comfortable, and they can help you to arrange tuk tuk or anything you need. The toilets were outside the room. The room was good enough; no AC though. The beds were very comfortable, and all of them have curtains, so you can have your privacy. They have a complete and delicious breakfast included. You have free coffee and tea all the time, and filtered water for Rs 100.

Sri LankaThe bed quality can be improved. 10 bed mix room is too much congested.
The stuffs are really friendly. The facilities for restroom, lounge are good. The small Adam's peak is a 35-minute hike from the hostel. Nine arch bridge is 20 minutes walk from the hostel.

United KingdomUnfortunately there was quite a lot of noise - from the road, the bar next door played music until 11pm and one morning it started up again at 7am, there were people coming back from parties late at night, and our room door was very squeaky! That said, I still had a good time and would recommend it.
Really good, sociable hostel. I stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed my stay. The free breakfast was great, and they organised lots of social things in the evening so it was really easy to get to know people. The dorm rooms were pretty cramped, but the bunk beds were very comfortable. From speaking to friends who stayed elsewhere, it's one of the best and most sociable hostels in Ella.

SpainBeing a youth hostel, people went out to party and came back at all hours (around 2/3AM), they were extremely loud and careless of those of us who were tired and needed to rest. I really disliked It, I would have yelled at them, but it is not my place to educate them. This lack of respect and consideration ruined my night. I know it is not entirely the hotel's fault, but a reminder to guests to behave like normal people would probably help.
Staff were super helpful and the place is quite new and well-run. We had been let down by two other hotels, who had overbooked their capacity so, luckily, we were saved by this trendy hostel and their shared, female-only dorm. They have free, unlimited coffee and tea, and a cozy al fresco area to socialize. It is clean and modern, very much to European standards.

Sri LankaEverything was well. We had not anything to mentioned as we did not like. If you really wanted any comment on this. We had very low pressure on Hot water. But that also manageable. And If you could please improve the mattress comfort that would be great. Actually Everything was superb for us.
Location is superb. Staff also friendly and kind. Spaces are well planned for a hostel concept. We were in a room. So, we did not look into bunk bed areas.

United KingdomMy room was very large and good but it was under the stairs so it was quite noisy when people came home. But, it’s a hostel so I’ll take noise for a couple of nights for a good vibe!
Great hostel which was close to the main strip but also close to Adam’s Peak and the Nine arches. Great place to meet people if you’re solo travelling. It was recommended to me by another traveller and it didn’t disappoint!

IsraelThe steps over the room made it noisy everytime other residents walked up and down with suitcases being specially harsh. There was a cafe/restaurant right outside the window which was blasting music all day long. The room had a stuffy smell. The bathroom door didn't lock + the water pressure was low and it wasn't hot enough. There were no toiletries as well.
Staff were welcoming, accommodating and helpful. The room was well designed and the breakfast was nice too. They also had card games and a little kitchen to cook food which was great. The location is central and very easy to reach.

United KingdomRoom was very damp and dark - towels never dried and little sunlight as room backs on to bar so privacy windows and heavy curtains used. Also meant room constantly smelt. Our room was also under the stairs which was not advertised/stated until we checked-in and told we have a discounted price because of this. Not worth the discounted price as very noisy early in the morning and late at night as dorms upstairs. There are no pictures of this room online so no way to tell which you are booking until arrival. Staff were friendly but not hospitable (didn't offer any recommendations for area or hostel activities). Hostel doesn't seem as social as advertised with no/little events offered. Wi-fi didn't really work either.
Excellent location and room was good size. Breakfast was also very good for being included in the price.

United StatesLocated uphill from the main street. Staff was a bit annoyed every time I asked a question. No one seemed to want to do anything, even if you drop it in the groupchat. So it's social only in the partying aspect, but that's it. When I checked in at 8 pm, everyone in site was basically drunk. My room borders the patio, and all night long you can hear rowdy drunk brits.
It's close enough to the main street without the noise of it (you'll hear different nosies). Also within walking distance to the Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adams' Peak. Not everyone was a fan of the partying, so you might be able to find other travelers to do activities with (Best way to find them is at breakfast)

United KingdomRoom had an extremely strong damp smell, fan didn’t work, our room was also underneath the stairs which meant we could hear EVERYTHING. We requested a change of room as none of this was stated on booking.com and they said they had nothing available. We tried to push through however the other guests were partying past 12am when they were supposed to be in quiet hours. We eventually chose to find another hotel in the middle of the night as we left. Came back in the morning to see if we could get a refund for the upcoming nights booked and the manager said they needed 48hrs to refund. We stated that room was of poor standard and not acceptable and he eventually gave us 25% money back which really wasn’t a lot considering how expensive it was anyway, as well as having to get another hotel. Would not recommend or return. Didn’t see the dorms so I can’t comment but definitely be careful if you book a private room.

United StatesThis is a super social hostel and I had the best time! The mixed dorm was a decent size, the lockers were big enough for all of my belongings and I liked that all of the beds had privacy curtains. It does get rowdy at night with people coming back loud and drunk but this is something I knew would happen so it didn’t bother me at all. The hostel has different activities planned each day like family dinners, pub crawl, cooking class, going to the waterfall etc. The family dinner occurred the same night I checked in and I noticed everyone was already grouped and mingled which was a little awkward but this is where I have to give a huge shoutout to Lucky from the hostel bc he immediately brought me into a conversation and offered me a drink. I made friends that first night bc of him. It may seem like something so minuscule but I will forever be appreciative of him. The food served at the family dinner was the best meal I had in Sri Lanka, it was incredible!! The hostel was kept clean, there was always someone cleaning the bathroom and the dorms. I absolutely recommend this hostel to any solo travelers looking to make some friends!
