Had one unpleasant experience with the food.

The guest experience was one of the best from places we have stayed in. Special shout-out to Movindu and the staff from the pool bar! We had one hiccup during our stay. However because Movindu was always proactively checking up on us and because most of the staff from front desk to bar staff was kind and friendly, that negative experience was overshadowed by the positive ones. If you want to relax and have a peaceful time away from noise I would totally recommend this hotel. Ps. They have live music in the evenings.

The only issue we had was the bathroom in our suite was unsuitable for the elderly, as you had to climb a step and into the bathtub to have a shower. Due to the design of the bath and shower area, when having a shower the bathroom would be flooded and we had to keep using additional towels to mop up the water. The SPA services were quite expensive.

Buffet breakfast and dinner was excellent with a variety of Western and Sri Lankan cuisine. Service was commendable. Staff were very polite, obliging and helpful. Good location with beach access and a relaxed atmosphere. The suite we occupied was spacious with comfortable furniture and facilities. The room was large with a large comfortable bed. Clean and well maintained hotel with a large pool.

Such a lovely atmosphere with the friendliest staff. Designed by Geoffrey Bawa, the hotel showcases phenomenal architecture. The pool overlooks a stunning view, and the beach was pristine and peaceful. The food was alright. Truly a wonderful stay — highly recommended !

The facilities and location at Heritance Ahungalla are excellent, offering a relaxing and scenic atmosphere. The food was just okay, not particularly outstanding. While the front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming, the same level of warmth wasn’t consistent across the rest of the team. Overall, it’s a nice place to stay, especially for the location and amenities, but service quality could be more consistent.

The property is huge, if they could add some guiding signs it would be helpful. Especially for the gym and 2nd pool. Easy to get lost while searching.

Very nice property, great staff. Shout out to Jayaru and Janaka who always greeted us with a warm smile and helped when asked. Overall a great stay and highly recommended. We had the luxury suite designed by their renowned architect.

Hotel looks a little tired but that's a given as it's about 40 years old.

There is very little not to like, the property is kept in excellent condition by the wonderful team that work there. The locality is fairly remote though and there is no external options in the local area.

For couple, joining two single beds to make it twin double not a good idea. When you on holiday with your spouse you want to cherish moments together.

A la carte restaurant could be improved. Head of reception was a bit rude and not so welcoming as we have booked throught booking. Breakfast price on the check in document was 10$/pp and she tried to charge 18$ per person.
