How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe room was amazing, absolutely enormous and with a gorgeous bathroom. The huge patio area led straight to the pool. The large sun loungers were so comfortable and the swimming pool was enormous! Great gym with the most amazing view of the pool.
It was all lovely except the old metal fence along the beach front.

Verified reviewThe guest experience was one of the best from places we have stayed in. Special shout-out to Movindu and the staff from the pool bar! We had one hiccup during our stay. However because Movindu was always proactively checking up on us and because most of the staff from front desk to bar staff was kind and friendly, that negative experience was overshadowed by the positive ones. If you want to relax and have a peaceful time away from noise I would totally recommend this hotel. Ps. They have live music in the evenings.

Even though we booked through Booking.com, we contacted Mewantha for more details and he handled everything wonderfully. From reservation to check-out, the care and service were exceptional. A special thanks to Mewantha, Trilishiya, the lady who escorted us to the room, and the entire front office team. Everyone contributed to making our stay and special night perfect. The location is calm and peaceful, creating the ideal environment for relaxation. The food was also excellent, with a great variety and quality. Verified reviewBuffet breakfast and dinner was excellent with a variety of Western and Sri Lankan cuisine. Service was commendable. Staff were very polite, obliging and helpful. Good location with beach access and a relaxed atmosphere. The suite we occupied was spacious with comfortable furniture and facilities. The room was large with a large comfortable bed. Clean and well maintained hotel with a large pool.
The only issue we had was the bathroom in our suite was unsuitable for the elderly, as you had to climb a step and into the bathtub to have a shower. Due to the design of the bath and shower area, when having a shower the bathroom would be flooded and we had to keep using additional towels to mop up the water. The SPA services were quite expensive.

They even upgraded our room which was an added bonus. All the staff were super helpful and facilities were great. We had such an enjoyable time and they made us feel very comfortable. The price didn’t match the quality of the room. The rooms were not well maintained. The rooms didn’t feel like a star hotel—they felt more like ordinary small hotel rooms. I’m not sure if all rooms are like this, but the one I stayed in was a normal, ordinary room and didn’t justify the price.

While the front desk staff were very friendly and welcoming, the same level of warmth wasn’t consistent across the rest of the team. Overall, it’s a nice place to stay, especially for the location and amenities, but service quality could be more consistent.

The property is huge, if they could add some guiding signs it would be helpful. Especially for the gym and 2nd pool. Easy to get lost while searching.
